I WOULD SHOUT ITS PRAISES TO EVERYONE FROM THE TOP OF THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. THE ADOBE INDESIGN GUIDE WAS BETTER THAN THE HELICOPTER SCENE IN MISS SAIGON.
Indeed this is a "World's Classic." I would like to see it preserved as the author intended.
Collodi good, abridgement bad.

With characters and situations based on his long-running Comic Book Akiko, Writer/Illustrator Mark Crilley does a good job of presenting the reader with the information they may have missed by not reading the first book, but also manages to keep the plot moving forward. He also seems to be getting his children's-book writing chops built up, as I thought this book had a much better style than the first one. The art is great too; simple, yet detailed. The characters are fun, and the story is pretty gentle, so younger readers shouldn't find anything too scary.
Mark Crilley, the author and illustrator of the Akiko novels (and comic from which the novels derive), is in better shape with this second book of the series, mostly because the necessary exposition has already been dealt with in book one. The plot flows quickly, and there is plenty of excitement to keep the story moving, without being too frightening for young children. Being part of a series may make the story hard to follow for those who don't know the story, but there is enough adventure and great storytelling moments to amuse even newcomers.
This book can be enjoyed as a group read with children (there are enough pictures and descriptions to captivate a young audience), or for solo readers who can handle a third- or fourth-grade reading level.

Thanks.
There is only one downside: The book states, that banks should stop investing in IT, as "IT creates value for customers but destroys profits". That is something I cannot believe. It seems that these strategy consultants were afraid of IT Consultants snatching their projects.
This will serve as strong college textbook, while well-written enough to please those with a more casual interest in the subject.

After reading everything in the book more than once, I had no clue on what I had red until I bought a book called Home Recording Power by Ben Milstead.
Scot Wilkinson had written this book for those who are familiar with recording and wanted an idea or better understanding of how their equipment works the way it does. This book has very little tips or techniques on the equipment it covers. Its not a how to book.
So unless you have some form of a recording setup and are familar with your equipment and have done some projects already, dont buy this book, cause you wont understand very much.

Well, then there is a quote, where the author blankly asserts that posts are more useful then gets. I'm familiar with the debate about the pros and cons. But, an author just asserting one is better and putting as a reason 'trust me, baby, I'm smart', is just so pretentious.
To put it plain from flipping around in the book, I didn't find any good information, and the author just disgusted me with his way of writing and assertions. This is a total utter waste of time and money.
Overall the book covered a broad set of topics and showed some good example code. If you're new to web services and soap, and you plan on using .net, this book will get you good coverage in a small amount of time. If you don't intend to use .net, there are still some interesting topics, but the sample code won't help much.
I read the two other reviews and I don't understand why the readers are complaining. SOAP is one way to do Web Services and is the only thing that the authors talk about in the entire book. Perhaps this reader has a problem with the fact that, for the most part, SOAP == Web Services? As for the horrible waste of time review, I again think that the person didn't really look at the book. This is the best book I have seen to date which describes how to mold your SOAP messages, write custom attributes, etc. These guys explain pretty well what SOAP is for. Better for Web Page scraping? I think that reviewer simply picked up a copy in a book store, read 2 pages, and that's it.

I, too, hailed the Queen after her riveting performance of "Nessum Dorma" on the 1998 Grammys and I continue to follow her career in hopes that her legacy continues to be upheld with the upmost respect. I hope that in twenty years, the author can add another update of amazing accomplishments to this edition. Good read.
This made half the book useless. It was very disappointing. Don't make a $31 mistake, look for something better.
