A Guide to Playing the Mythos Card Game
This book contains miscellaneous information about the Mythos collectible card game. It contains: the rules of the game, a FAQ, a short play and deck construction guide, a sort of designer's notes on the game, background information on selected cards, rules for solitaire play and creating your own adventures, a complete spoiler list for the limited edition of the game and lists of card attributes and requirements for completing adventures.

As a collector and player of the game, I found the designer's notes on the history of the game and the design philosophy to be especially interesting. Also useful to me are the short notes on the background of selected cards and the rules for creating and scoring your own adventures. The pictures of the selected cards are black & white with a paragraph of background info. Buyers should also note that there is an updated version of the rules of the game at the Chaosium website.

One of the best instructionals I've tried
This is Vol. 2 of Mark Hanson's "The Art of Travis-Style Picking," one of the best starter manuals for would-be fingerpickers, and it picks up where that excellent book/CD left off. Most of the compositions are by Hanson; if you love Fahey, Kottke, Ackerman, de Grassi, etc. and wouldn't mind learning how to play like that, this is your ticket. The two David Blakeley numbers are also quite fine, as are arrangements of Libby Cotten's "Freight Train" and John Renbourn's version of "White House Blues." I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Excellent summary of Schopenhauer if you can track it down
This is the only audiobook exposition and analysis of Schopenhauer's works I've encountered (if you know of another please e-mail me!). It was done in the mid-1990's by Knowledge Products, and I've gathered that many of these titles (I believe there are 12, each one an approximately 2.5 hour affair covering major philosophers from Plato to Sartre) are going out of print. They are all narrated by Charlton Heston, but don't think you'll be stuck with the gravelly-voiced Moses for the entire two cassettes. The producers utilize a revolving cast of actors to bring to life the thinkers themselves-- in this one we hear them "play" Kant and Nietzsche as well as the anonymous reviewer in Britain who brought Schopenhauer to the public's attention in his piece on Arthur's final publication, _Parerga and Paralipomena_. You will think the vocal imitation (including heavy accents) of history's greatest minds either cheesy or effective; I am of the latter. There is a biographical portion, to my mind heavily borrowing from the opening chapter of perhaps the finest book on Schopenhauer in English, Bryan Magee's _Philosophy of Schopenhauer_, followed by an exegesis of Schopenhauer's thought. Schopenhauer was that most darkly cast of philosophers, despite being highly influential on artists, poets, and musicians of every sort. Many believe (and I among them) that his adaptation and extension of Kantian philosophy outclasses Hegel's, Fichte's, and Schelling's. The background and context to Schopenhauer's work is well represented, and the presentation is liberally peppered with selections from his writings. There are also reactions to Schopenhauer and a short criticism of his work to wrap things up. If anything, the reading of the final lines from Schopenhauer's central work, _The World As Will and Representation_, are worth this audiobook alone-- not to mention Heston's voicing (via the scriptwriter I assume) that Schopenhauer's view of life as purposeless touches on the "appalling." (!) (hilarious!)

a comprehensive and intelligent analysis
This book covers 5 (or 6) of the main theorists from Ruskin on and provides indepth understanding and analysis. This book will be of interest to anyone researching the influence of secialist theory in 19th and early 20th centruy England. It covers Ruskin, The Arts and Crafts and Unwin (part of the Garden City Movement). Apart from being a critical history-of-theory book it also offers an intelligent critique of the movement as a whole in the conclusion

Coolest book at the Comic Book shop.
I highly recommend this book. It's like eavesdropping on the conversations between the interviewer and the 11 famous comic book artists! The artists really open up and show thier human side, which include career struggles, fears, and life goals. They share what it was like as newbies to the comic book business, and how they dealt with obstacles in the work place, and in thier personal life. As an artsit myself, I quickly connected with the artists reply to questions being asked. I hung on their every word!

Not only is this book entertaining, but also educational, especially if your an aspiring comic book artist.

Read and enjoy!

Add this to your bag of great AS/400 tools
The Handbook provides working examples of solutions to real situations you will encounter as a programmer in an AS/400 environment. There are useful explanations and examples of CL & OPNQRYF & CMD that will make you more productive. The application development section covers both RPG/400 and RPG/ILE, including all three types of subfiles. Being able to compare source code for the same application in both RPG/400 and RPG/ILE is a major bonus. A definate plus for everyone still converting to ILE or supporting legacy code. The most useful information from quite a few IBM manuals is in here and indexed for quick desk reference. I coded a complex SFLSIZ=SFLPAG program just using this book.

This is THE book to buy if you're a parent!
This book helps me feel that I have a trusted doctor answering any question I might have about the health and growth of my kids. Especially since you don't always want to phone the pediatrician when you have a question. This book is truly comprehensive and loaded with great info. I watch Dr. Mark on TV so I really trust his advice. "Ask Dr. Mark" is set up in a question & answer format, and organized by life stages, infant thru teens. So it's easy to find answers. There's a huge range of subjects. I really like the spiral binding - so the book lies flat when it's open - great idea!
