Everyone an Entrepreneur
Many books exist on how to become an entrepreneur. Few have down to earth information and systems. This book will help all of your employees become internal entrepreneurs. This book will help all your managers develop the entrepreneur in each of the employees they lead.

a "how to" handbook to keep close by
I outline what I have learned from the books I read. John Scriven and Mark Mayberry have done that for me at the end of each chapter - I like that. This book is a complilation of business lessons meant to spare the reader some of life's anguish while still welcoming change and courageously taking risks.I enjoyed the related song lyrics quoted at the start of each chapter. This is a book stays on my desk - it helps me every day.

What every business needs
I have read this book and it has changed the way I approach my business. The practical tips can be used immediately. The stories show how real this subject is and that it can work. I urge everyone, no matter what size your company, to read this book. Also take a look at their Web site at http://www.itcoe.com. They have an excellent discussion area to discuss the book and what it means to be an entrepreneur.

A Very Original Book
Only a person who really loves libraries could have written this book about a disturbed man who wants to blow up the Chicago Public Library's Harold Washington building. Just look at the intricate way he weaves the footnotes into the plot; he must have spent a lot of time researching. As a librarian myself, I loved the plot, the setting, and the character of Eve Jablom. Nice to see a librarian portrayed as young and attractive instead of old and austere.

strange and smart!
I thought this was a wonderful and fascinating book. Loved the footnotes and all of the interesting side information. It is a quick read as well as an enjoyable one. If you like intellectual information along with a strange plot with a twist, this is a good book for you.

Wonderful read!
The author has an amazingly intellectual but easy to read style. Hilariously funny...fascinating...profound. Loved it.

Discover the other side of Hawaii
This is an amazing book on Hawaii, focusing on the less-well-known and less-traveled islands. Most of us only know Hawaii as a wonderful tourist destination, composed of a handful of islands fulfilling all of our vacation needs. In fact, Hawaii is much much more. The Hawaiian islands actually extend for many miles to the northwest, where the visitors are mostly only the native wildlife. These Northwestern Hawaiian islands comprise the "real" Hawaii: the Hawaii that is untouched by tourism; the Hawaii that gives us a glimpse back in time, allowing us to view the untarnished natural and cultural history of this unique archipelago. This is the Hawaii that the author focuses on, and he does it with great success.

Although the author is a biologist by trade -- and one might think from the title that this is basically a biology book -- it would be a big mistake to think that this book is limited to the biology of these islands. In fact, this book is much broader than that. What Mr. Rauzon does is integrate many aspects of the islands' life and history into an eminently readable story.

This book works on so many levels: a cultural narrative, a historical account, a description of the flora and fauna, a memoir of the author's experiences, a photographic essay. Take any one of these aspects alone, and the author succeeds admirably. But the real beauty of this book is the way that the author weaves all of these elements together into a rich and fascinating story of these enchanting islands. (Personally, I'm partial to the exceptional collection of high-quality photographs which add life to the text. But they could also easily stand alone as a coffee-table photography book in their own right.) One more bonus is the inclusion of artwork by the highly-skilled author -- beautiful watercolors and pen-and-ink drawings.

The author has an easy personal style which makes this book read like an unfolding story. It is not a text book. Sure you'll learn some interesting facts, but that's not the point of this book. Mr. Rauzon allows us to experience the joy and wonder of these islands just as he has in his explorations and adventures over years.

Isles of Refuge: Wildlife and History of the Northwestern...
This book has it all; it's educational, entertaining and thought provoking. Mark Rauzon has written a book that provides an understandable look at the natural history of the sea birds, mammals and sea turtles that thrive throughout the leeward islands. This is fascinating stuff and interesting in its own right--but wait there's more! He also has meticulously researched and reported on the human history of the area, including early Polynesian times, discovery and exploitation in the 1800's and early 1900's, world war drama, and recent attempts to recover the natural beauty of the area. This history documents the folly of man's attempt to intervene in natrual systems and the often catastrophic results.....but wait there's more! He also shares some of his personal journey as he spent much of his time over the past twenty years working in this remote area (he has visited all but one of the leeward islands). These personal stories are sometimes humorous, but always interesting. I've never been to these remote islands and probably never will be able to visit them. Rauzon took me there and I'm gald for the visit. Read this book, you won't regret it--it's wonderful!

Terrific
Who would have thought that a book about a series of tiny islands in the middle of the ocean could be so fascinating? Somehow, the author, Mark Rauzon, has crafted an extremely compelling book about these Northwestern Hawaiian islands. This book took me places I didn't expect, but surely enjoyed. Rauzon, with his expert story-telling and beautiful photography brings these islands to life. The reader comes to see each of these small islands - some hardly larger than a rock outcropping - as a unique entity with its own story to tell. And Rauzon, through his beautiful prose and eloquent style, speaks passionately for these islands, which he so clearly loves. The author, with his rich experience to draw from, as well as his obvious joy of discovery, has created a book filled with spirit and emotion. I learned so much from this book; but that's not the half of it. What's so special about this book is that I now feel as though I "know" these islands

Everything I expected and more
I first fell in love with James over the internet, saving every days' individual strips. It's truely a pleasure to find out that Mark Tonra's work has found it's way to a book. I am so glad to be able to have them in a dead-tree format that I can share with my own little James (we call him "Nathan" ^_^).

If you have a toddler or love kids and how they can seem to be more adult than some adults, you will -love- this book.

Sweet Baby James!
I really dig this comic strip. At first glance, you might think it's just about some baby, but James' insight and wisdom on growing up and living a good life is way beyond his years...from friendship to mischief makers to hot baby-sitters, James has a way of working himself into the most unsuspecting hearts.

The word on the street is that a second James collection will be coming out in Spring of 2003...keep your eyes peeled for another whopping dose of James goodness!

What a kid!!
When I saw this book I took a look and decided to see what it was worth. I really liked.
James is a unique character. A young kid with a huge personality and a great "dark" side that allows him to pursue new disaster with a smile. It really is a young kid discovering the world.
The drawings are clean and minimal great to read and probably look great on the newspaper too.
I look forward to the next book from Mark Tonra and "James", it muat be great!

Keeper
Great book for beginners in robotics OR electronics. This book focuses on the minimalist BEAM approach to robotics, as opposed to the full blown combat robots you see on TV. Starts with the real basics, everything from reading resistor color bands (BBROYGBVGW - Bad Boys etc...) to proper soldering techniques. Then it moves on to a series of step-by-step micro-bot builds, generously illustrated with photos and diagrams. If you can't find the parts around the house to build your bots, you can always take the author's dumpster diving tips to heart. I'd recommend this book for anybody who's not afraid of soldering and glue fumes.

The Best of BEAM
This is, by far, the best robotics how-to book I've ever read. I've been following the BEAM "movement" from its inception, and Dave Hrynkiw's work for years. This book makes the BEAM approach toward robotics accessible to everyone, from the complete newbie to the more experienced hobbyist.

I was amazed at how well the book was written (it's genuinely funny in spots), and how much attention to detail was evident in clear photos and well-done illustrations. This is a model for how such a book should be done.

There are seven projects in the book, from a simple solar-powered top to a rather sophisticated four-legged insect-like walker. Set-by-step instructions are given for each project, along with process photos and circuit diagrams.

One of the coolest things about BEAMbots is that they're often built from analog electronics scavenged from techno-junk (old solar calculators, Walkman, pagers, modems, etc.). Dave provides info on how to round up this junk and where to go for the parts you can't scrounge.

I think that making some of these little autonomous robo-critters and letting them scuttle and flail around in your office (seeking light, avoiding light, dodging obstacles) would be a great way of flexing your superior geek muscles. Make some of these babies and you'll be the envy of propellerheads everywhere!

Hrynkiw! Tilden! What more could you need?
This book definitely has what it takes to introduce enthusiasts of all ages to the many aspects of BEAM robotics. It is important to note that it covers topics from those that are very simple (good learning material for those new to the topic or are fairly young) to those that are quite esoteric (satisfying food for thought for the experienced BEAM roboticist.) We can only hope for more from this group of authors.

Practical, sensible, funny, effective, parent-friendly.
Parenting in today's world is complex, puzzling, challenging, ever changing, and a whole lot of hard work. In Kids Are From Jupiter, practicing psychologist and family counseling Mark Chamberlain presents a practical, sensible, funny, effective, "parent friendly", highly recommended guide to overcoming parenting stumbling blocks, shows how to develop effective coping strategies for common child-rearing dilemmas, and how to gain an understanding of those evolving little people we call our children.

Practical Parenting Solutions that Really Work
I loved this book! I couldn't wait to read through each segment. Down-to-earth, hands-on advice for raising children. Dr. Chamberlain speaks from personal experience as a father and from years of experience counseling parents and children. A must read book for parents. Thought provoking, humorous, insightful, and especially useful information. I highly recommend "Kids are from Jupiter" to anyone seeking solutions as a parent.

Previously Puzzled Parent
I loved reading Kids are from Jupiter, it was entertaining and easy to read. It helped me understand the behavior of my three children, and gave me useful techniques to be a better and less stressed mother. I feel better about myself and my capabilities! I recommend it for anyone who wants to understand children.

Landlord's Rights and Duties in Florida: With Forms

An Invaluable Resource for Do-It-Yourself Landlords
I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information contained in this book. Its written in easy to understand language and covers just about everything you need to know about renting property in Florida. Thoroughly discusses applicable Florida statutes, includes case references and supplies various legal forms. I wouldn't feel comfortable handling my own rentals in Florida without this book.

Great Resource
Concise and logically formatted this is a great book for rental property owners in Florida. Complete with case law notes and examples the book is really helpful in accomplishing most actions a landlord will have to undertake. The forms are handy as well and will keep you from having to buy a legal forms program or from having to run to the county clerks office.

A great reference guide to do-it-yourself landlords
After purchasing this book by Attorney Mark Warda, I have found his insight into the real estate laws of Florida invaluable. The easy to read format of the book along with the flowcharts and associated legal forms makes owning rental property less stressful. Common legal problems that a landlord encounters are addressed. A "must get" for the do-it-yourself landlord.

The Last Avengers Story

SPOILER ALERT!!!
Don't read this review unless you've read this tpb already! This was an excellent story about a possible future of the Avengers. Although the art is great and the plot dramatic (dramatic in a good way), some of the scenes were predictable (the last page for instance). This is all made up for though with the explanation of the Hulk's death, as well as Kang's death (even though he probably wouldn't have really died due to the device he uses [read Avenger's Forever TPB]).
The whole Ultron in charge thing was good, as was the blood and tragedy thing of a certain brother and sister. My only problem with this story: Where is Iron Man? Still, 5 stars for dropping that bomb on Avengers HQ.

One of the Best "Future" Stories I have read
Much better than any of the X-Men future stories. Peter David is unquestionably one of the best mainstream writers going and has been for some time.

This is a dark and gritty story and people die, It is somewhat related to "Earth X" in the way people have changed but this version of the future is darker and easier to get a handle on. Highest rating.

superb alternate avengers story.
one of the greatest avengers stories of all time.set in a "what if?" type of story.this rotates around the avengers of the future and their last stand. a great read.

Excellent!!
This AudioCD with Michael Dell, Jack Welch, Jack Greenberg and Quincy Jones is worth a lot more than it's weight in gold. The listener is given the rare opportunity to view the business landscape from the perspective of great leaders who captain some of the biggest and best run companies on the planet. Success in business is about vision, innovation, customers, branding, team building and execution. The candid interviews on this CD bring these points home very clearly. If Tom Peters ever decides to write In Search of Excellence - the millennium edtion, he would do well to begin with the leaders featured on CD #1. Job well done by Mark Thompson and Richard Wilson.

The Real Thing
Forget all the theory and nonsense you hear from the gurus and academics about what they 'imagine' a leader should or could do! This is the real thing. Real CEOs talk about their best ideas and worst mishaps. Finally we hear what works and what doesn't in plain English from people who actually have done it! No secret sauce. No bull. I listened to Leaders of the New Century during my commute this week and I'm requiring my senior management team to listen to the whole set.

Its good to hear real interviews
This audio CD was a refreshing change from the usual audiobook on leadership. Instead of the typical announcer reading from a script - or author reading from a script - this had the interviewees speaking off the cuff about their experiences as leaders.

I particularly enjoyed the interview with Michael Dell. As a business owner, I could take and apply much of what he discussed to my business.

Overall, a very well done CD, with some fascinating guests, discussing what it takes to lead. I look forward to hearing the rest of the series.

Leadership 101
Every CEO should require their team to listen to these leaders. When I think of all the time our management team has wasted with consultants and gurus, I know now that the first thing you should do is get a copy of this series for everyone who works for you and require them to listen to it. This is what leaders have done to win their people and customers from actual interviews with the CEOs themselves. Easy listening format with some interesting insights from leaders in many fields.

Leadership Masterpiece
