The "Handbook of Massachusetts Evidence" is now in its seventh edition, and it only gets better each time. Brodin and Avery have done a fine job of updating this survey of evidence law in Massachusetts. In particular, their review of the law governing experts is particularly helpful at a time when experts are becoming central to many cases. Organized in a logical manner with an easy to use table of contents and comprehensive index, this is an excellent quick reference or starting point for research. Given the Commonwealth's reticence to enact rules of evidence, this handbook is the next best thing.

Even though 'Handguns Do It All' is on the back cover of Mark Hampton's new book, "Handgun Hunting", it is testament to his accomplishments. Mark has drawn from a wealth of first hand experience to produce the most comprehensive book on handgun hunting to date. Hampton's book is not a reloading manual, instead it is an invaluable resource for beginners, answering many questions on hunting tactics, choice of bullet, caliber, and firearm. Experienced handgunners interested in taking on new challenges will find Mark provides insights into hunting that only someone who has been there ' done that can provide as he takes the reader on hunts from Africa to Alaska and everywhere in between. There are numerous quality photographs in the book but a few close ups of some of the more unusual cartridges would have been nice for beginners making comparisons. Having hunted for over 20 years with a handgun myself I can tell you this is the real deal...

Mark Sobell's book takes the intimidation away from beginners wishing to learn the Unix Environment. The examples are error free and easy to follow and understand. While there are many aspects of Unix, Sobell's work provides the beginner with the fundamental concepts and knowledge of varios topics. Among them: scripting, networking, editors, file structure, processes, and GUI programming and environments. A must for the incipient Unix learner

This coloring book is jam-packed with fun. Lots of adorable illustrations show Elmo (and his Sesame Street pals) enjoying his birthday. A great coloring book value for any fan of this furry, red, three-year old.

Jack Ilfrey was a WWII fighter pilot in Europe and Africa. His colorful career is recounted here in very interesting detail. This is not just a "There I was inverted at 500 feet with both engines out" book but rather an overview of what ALL of a fighter pilot's life was like during the height of the war. We read about hijinks on the ground, fear and bravery in the air, and under it all, a great will to be done with it. Ilfrey conveys what it must have been like to be 20 years old, with terrific freedom, in a foreign country, during wartime. He was quite the nonconformist, which led to his being demoted several times. Still, his attributes as a fighter pilot kept him in the fight, to the benefit of us all. ...This 1903-1941 color-history narrative, is the equal collabration of H.Wagners' writing and Mark Mitchells' photography. (My favorites being the close-up pewter-looking detail of those JD,Twin Cam, and 8-valve exo-skeleton motors.) Have you ever seen a JD at idle? Cripes...the beast just chuffs. With those exposed external (exhaust) push rods moving up and down...the machine's an animal. If for nothing else, buy this book for the (drum-scanned) photographs. © Kirk Perry, 2002

A few minor notes for trivia buffs: the book's jacket tells us that Saxton was the original editor of ISLANDIA; the introduction identifies "Lang III" as the translator of the long-lost narrative; and in this volume, the origin of the city of St. Anthony is revealed. If you are somehow encountering this book before ISLANDIA, by all means read ISLANDIA first. Its pace and tone will be an essential introduction to HAVOC, a worthy prequel.

This book is recipient of the Reviewer's Choice award and is well deserving of it. An absolutely essential guide to that unbearable condition known as hayfever. If you've ever suffered from hayfever and sought relief from itchy eyes and sneezing you absolutely must consult this book. Outstanding!
