this book changed my life
Phenomenal- the mastery of so many spheres of knowledge are rarely displayed with such masterful erudition and breathtaking display of wonders that the world has not seen since the days of Dickens, Chaucer, et. al.

I also thought that the graphical displays within the book were incredible, but there were no pictures of women in unclothed state and only limited information on restricted substances.

About a thief with the uncanny ability to regain freedom
Mark Greenwood's The Legend Of Moondyne Joe is an legend of the greatest escape artist of the era when Australia was used a prison destination by Great Britain. Moondyne Joe was not gunfighter or a bank robber, but rather a thief with the uncanny ability to regain freedom every time he was put behind bars. The simple, color illustrations by Frane Lessac bring life to a vivid legend in this charming story which is highly recommended for young readers.

just great
I've read this book last summer and before reading it I've never thought homosexuality is an issue to be discussed by everyone. Now, I do think that it is something we all have to understand properly. And properly means as the Lord sees it. That is what this book helped me to do. I want to translate it into bulgarian but how can I get in touch with the authors?

Great Book
I love this book, this was the first book I purchased, authored by Mark Hanson. The most of the material is challenging. A "Trout Towards Noon" is on the easy side, so start with that on. I found the accompaning cassette to be very useful. Mark plays the tune at half speed, which allows you play along at some speed. His verbal notes on the recording are very useful to.

Wonderful, extremely useful book.
I have used this book in the classroom and in workshops with parents and children. There are many very exciting and useful exercises for teachers, parents or counselors for working with children off all ages. The exercises are fun and will help bring out the best in your children or students. I recommend this book highly. Dwayne McKinney

Wonderful book!
Excellent commentary. Each chapter is small enough to read in a day for use as a devotional. The cover is cheesy, but the book is wonderful!

Thought Provoking Action
As the 1st in a series, this book gives us a lot of backstory. That backstory makes for an interesting read. When the President decides to form an "American Foreign Legion", the US military is amused and the Russian are afraid. This book tells how the Liberty Corps is formed in spite of those reactions. The beauty of the story is that rather than focus on one character to weave his story around, Roberts follows several enlistees through the process. We get a womanizing Army regular whose punishment for an affair with a General's wife is a position with the Legion, an undercover reporter sent to do an expose'of the legion, a Mafia soldier hiding from a NY Don and various other characters. The novel mostly covers their plight in the newly formed Legion. The actual mission does not occur until the very end. As an origin story, it does quite well with more characterization than the usual series entries.

expectations gratified
What a delightful surprise to learn that Mark Girouard has written about France. I have enjoyed his books about English houses and towns for years -- returned to them again and again. His new book on the French country house has delighted me with the same mix of historical knowledge with social insight and architectural connoisseurship. All his books are full of the most interesting insights and details, and he writes like and angel. Nice pictures too. (My only wish is for more pictures, plans and diagrams.) This books is a lovely equal to his "Life in the English Country House."

Review: Life is with People
I have read this book several times--as well as parts of it at least a half dozen times--and have never failed to glean an enormous amount of information about the incredible lives of Eastern European Jews before World War II. The authors (all of whom are highly trained in their respective fields) have opened up to their readers a beautiful and yet painful world which those of us who live in freedom and prosperity probably never knew existed before.

The writing is clear and precise and the reader is offered many direct quotes as well as regional aphorisms and Yiddish terms used by the Eastern European Jews to describe their friends, family and surroundings. At times I was filled with laughter, other times brought to tears by the words of those who lived in the shtetleh of Poland and Russia.

The Jews of Eastern Europe were a simple people of faith---in their God, in their little run-down communities, in their family and friends---but they also lived in a world which evoked a constant sense of fear knowing that anytime day or night they were subject to the violent whims of their Gentile neighbors. During the worst pogroms, Jews were attacked and sometimes murdered in front of family members and friends. And yet, because of the social conditions in Eastern Europe, those who witnessed the horrors of a pogrom might actually come face to face the very next day with those same Gentile attackers in the marketplace, and they were expected to act as if nothing at all had happened. We of democratic laws and justice would not fair so well in such a society; they had no such choice, for to complain was to risk one's life and bring down further destruction on their shtetl.

With few exceptions, the Jews of Eastern Europe lived and died with dignity and courage despite the sometimes horrible conditions under which they were forced to live, and this book describes this world more simply and clearly than any other I've read. For them, life truly was "With People", and it opened up my eyes to the incredible value of my own family and friends and the freedoms so richly enjoyed in this, the nation of my birth. I was deeply moved by this book and would recommend it to anyone, regardless of their national origin or religious faith. John Edward Flynt

Not your average horse book
This is simply a great book, whether you are a horse person or not. In fact, so far I have given it to all my friends and employees, none of which are "horsey", and they all love it! It's hard to put into words what I have learned from it and what I continue to learn each time I read it. (4 times so far) Suffice it to say that it is the best book I've read in the last two years, and maybe longer. However, I must also say if you buy this because you are looking for a horse training book per si, then you will most certainly be disappointed. It isn't a training book in the literal sense. Rather it opens doors to possibilities that are available to us all not just with horses, but more importantly, in our overall daily lives. If you are looking to find better ways to help your horse through understanding and communication, or simply to help improve your life in general, then this one is for you. The lessons to be gleaned from this book are simple but very powerful. Right up there with another one of my favorites, The Tao of Pooh. I HIGHLY recomend this book.
