A top-flight book of a complex subject
A truly comprehensive book, enjoyable to both read and look through. It covers the history and scope of air travel, including airport and aircraft design, corporate identities and marketing in a thorough, extensive and compelling manner. It is distinctive in how it successfully melds a global scope and a focused perspective.

Excellent
This book is an excellent overview of the history of civil aviation, terminals, and airfields. The attention to detail, both photographic and linguistic, is marvelous and provides a wonderful account of airport design. The faithfulness to the original traveling photo exhibit allows readers the opportunity to experience the cultural presentation alongside the historical reconstruction. All in all, a wonderful book for any aviation fan.

Building for Air Travel: A must have!
BfAT is one of the most intriguing books you'll find about airports. It covers a lot of airport design aspects- but it is not an engineering book. In other words, you won't have to face boring charts and graphs. All you get is interseting texts, divided into differnt issues, and many rare and beautiful pictures. If you really like airports- you should have this book.

Unique and Delicious!..........
......this cookbook is an experience! Burmese cuisine is a marvelous blend of the cuisines of its neighbors: China, Thailand, and India, making for a collection of delicious recipes that are distinct and memorable. The authors even give a brief history of each recipe, describing the origins and modern availability of many. They also open with a history of Burma that really helps round off the experience of this cookbook.

This cookbook contains hundreds of recipes, a glossary of ingredients and a "how to make...." section to help teach those new to the cuisine how to make some of the commonly found prepared items in the recipes. I can highly recommend: Beef in Tamarind Sauce, Roast Pork and Garlic Noodles, Malay Noodle Stir-Fry, Egg Noodles (Chinese Muslim Style), Chicken and Chick Pea Curry, Chili Chicken and the Sesame Rice Dessert. This cookbook has so much more to offer that I know I will be discovering for a long time to come. Chapters include: Appetizers and Fritters, Chutneys and Condiments, Soups, Beef and Lamb, Pork, Poultry and Eggs, Fish and Seafood, Rice and Pancakes, Vegetables and Salads, Sweets, and Menus.

The only drawback I see in choosing this cookbook would be for those cooks who need pictures to prepare recipes. This cookbook does not contain any photos. Also, for those who require very Americanized versions of international cuisine, be forewarned, this cookbook contains authentic Burmese recipes! If you want a genuine experience, than look no further than this cookbook!

Tired of 'fusion'? Go to the heart of exotic cooking.
My copy of this book, now dog-eared and food stained, has become one of my standards when I'm looking to prepare 'not just your ordinary' generic Asian style dinner. In terms of successfully replicating these recipes I'd say it's a one spooner (four spoons being the most difficult. This assumes you have an interest in cooking and its process--and typically call cooking more than throwing together 'chicken tonight'. What makes the cuisine of Burma so interesting is how it has taken the influence of its neighbors--Thailanad, India, and China--and created flavors and tastes unique to Burma. This book represents dishes that are both authentic in their scope and fresh in their flavors. Lookin' to go native? Great buy.

Burmese cuisine brought to life.
It was clearly written, and rich in anthropological detail. After reading this cook book, I felt as if I could go to Burma and order with confidences from the menus there. I have prepared several recipes from this book, and all were delicious and exotic.

READ THIS BOOK!
This is a grreat book. Short, but full of information that in very important to a business owner or potential business. Plain spoken, honest and open...Flows well. Read the book..then attend one of his workshops. Did both..... GRRRREAT STUFF! This is by an ordinary man who did an extra-ordinary thing... Started his own business, which is the "American Dream". This is his joureny into the independent business owner world. His failures, his successes, his hopes and aspirations. He writes straight from his experiences, no fluff,no fillers.. Great motivator....he may even be the next Zig Ziglar....

Great business book
I have been looking for good guidance on running your own business. As the author points out, most small business books aim to tell you the stuff you already know -- dress smartly, write your correspondance with correct grammar, etc. What this book does is present the advice you seek without talking to you as if you've never been to a business meeting before. Sage advice about how to conduct business on a low budget, how to promote yourself through effective PR, how to think about using friends and family in your business, etc.

You will not be disapppointed with this book.

Business Lessons for Young Entrepreneurs
Venturing out on your own into the business world can be a very scary and overwhelming endeavor. No one can prepare 100% for the obstacles they will encounter along the way, but by reading Mark Csordos' book, "Business Lessons for Young Entrepreneurs", the young business leaders of today can give themselves an invaluable head-ups on the reality of the business world.

The book is comprised of thirty diffenent chapters, each of which centers around the authors own personal experiences as a young struggling business owner. As a freshing and motivating bonus, the beginning of each chapter is started with a quotation or anecdote that is appropriately selected for the topic of each chapter. All of the quotes and stories are up-lifing and inspirational. The chapter subjects range from the more conventional topics of business, such as "self promotion" and designing a business plan, to the more unconventional side of business such as the personal fears, hopes, expectations, and occasional failures one might encounter along the way.

Each chapter is filled with immeasurable insight that one can only truly gain through personal experience. The lessons in this book are universal and can apply to anyone at almost anytime during the building of one's business. You can't find this kind of first hand, real life information in most business books.

I was especially inspired by the chapter entitled "Dare to Dream". In this chapter, the author encourages his readers to shoot for the stars and to never give up no matter how unobtainable his or her dreams may seem. To provide his readers with additional motivation to strive for success, the author gives numerous examples of ordinary individuals who defeated the odds and became people that we can all recogize today such as Bill Gates and Dave Thomas.

For anyone wanting to start his or her own business, this book is an excellent real life handbook of the ups and downs of being your own boss. Read this book and use it to guide you during your jounery. The author leads you in the right direction and is with you every step of the way.

One of the Greatest Books
BY LIZZIE is an exciting novel.Lizzie is a nine year old in the middle of her family. She has an annoying older brother named Norman, and a younger copycat sister named Ellie. The story starts on January 1, the day after Lizzie's ninth birthday. Lizzie is looking for her dog Winston's leash, and ends up finding her mom's old typewriter. She decides to record and write down the year before she turns ten.Lizzie writes a story for each month. My favorite month is March, when Lizzie calls swimming lessons "water torture", because she's the oldest in the beginner class by far, and she can't swim! Mary Eccles uses many details in her writing. I highly recommend this book for eager readers.

You will love this book!
By Lizzie is a great story with characters that young readers will identify with, laugh with, and care about through the end of this book and beyond. I am already looking forward to reading more stories "By Lizzie" and Mary Eccles. Young readers (and adults!) will enjoy this glimpse into Lizzie's year -- from the trials of family life to laughing through her escapades... mice in cereal boxes, secret codes, Brownie the puppy, getting even with her big brother and more. Lizzie and her story are both winners!

By Lizzie
I enjoyed the way this book is structured: a 9-year-old girl is frustrated with aspects of her life, and desides to chronicle each month as she waits to turn 10. Each chapter is an account of a difficulty she faces at school or at home. The problems are ones all children would recognize--annoying siblings, worries about a new teacher, for example. The chapters are written with good humor and not a trace of condescension.

A must book for all RS Prussia collectors
Knowing Ron personally we are aware of the time and energy involved in writing this book - it is truly a labor of love and encompasses a history very dear to his heart - agreeing with the two people who already reviewed the book there is not much more we can add but to say it is a must book for all Prussia collectors - we have referred to it many times in our travels searching for prussia and trying to authenticate different marks.

An outstanding, indispensable book of scholarship on R.S.
In my opinion, this is the first book on "R.S. Prussia" to buy, and surely indispensable for collectors of any stripe! I was amazed when I discovered that a book such as this existed; that anyone would spend the hundreds of hours it would take to do the research and work out the system. Among the many remarkable things in this book on identifying the "R.S. Prussia" porcelain made in the Schlegelmilch factories in Germany/Poland in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, here are three to whet your appetite: (1)the author has worked out a reference system for reading the many many different marks found on the porcelain, which system, if studied carefully, can often produce rare information such as exactly which factory a piece came from and therefore the period in which it was made. (2)the book shows the collector that one mark (say the "Classic" or "Red Mark") may say no more about the age or quality of a piece than another (say the "Steeple") mark. And (3)Capers provides a wonderful history of the Schlegelmilch families and their products, much of the information obtained during on-site European visits by Mr. Capers and his wife.

Some day, one hopes, Prussia collectors generally will use this information and this marking system. The enhancement to collecting "R.S. Prussia" will be immeasurable.

This book is a must for any collector, appraiser, or dealer.
I am thrilled to be able to review this valuable book! I owe the recognition of several of my best pieces to R.H. Capers and his "labor of love" that is refered to as "Capers' Notes on the Marks of Prussia." R.H. Capers is an avid Prussia collector, and fluent in German. Consequently, we as readers are refreshingly saturated with the "facts versus the fiction" surrounding the history of Prussian China and the marks that represent the manufacturers of this wonderful porcelain we adore. The reading is easy, the text is colorful, and the marks are divided in catagories made up by the manufacturers themselves. Capers deviates from the common and often vague names for Prussian marks, and creates a "Prussian Logo Code System" to aid in identifing the countless marks made for this beautiful china. Each mark is cleverly coded and photographed in color. Capers also includes a color photograph of the piece the mark came from. Capers reveals the authentic marks first, and then provides the reader with a section of fake or "counterfeit" marks found on reproduction pieces. Capers goes the extra mile to provide extensive family trees, birth and death certificates, and photographs of the Schlegelmilch Families who are responsible for producing and selling this lovely porcelain. There are also photographs of the factories themselves. "Capers' Notes on the Marks of Prussia" is an invaluable tool for any serious collector, appaiser or dealer who is conscientious about purchasing authentic Prussia. This book is truly an asset to any porcelain collector's reference bookshelf.

an excellent book for marriage preparation!
I think the book should be retitled "A Catholic handbook for pre-engaged and engaged and newly married couples" -- The questions in the back for engaged couples are incredibly helpful for couples to discuss before discerning their vocation of marriage together. Any Catholics in a serious relationship considering marriage should read it and discuss it together. Dr. Marks does a wonderful job of spelling out the necessary qualities for a successful Catholic marriage and the importance of a lifelong committment. Plus, it has the all-important Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur, meaning it is in line with Roman Catholic teaching.

Excellent
This book is a must for any Catholic engaged to be married. I am a life-long Catholic, but my fiance is not. He has developed in interest in Catholicism and this book was great to read and discuss together. The book not only gave us further insight into the teachings of the Catholic church, it also taught us alot about ourselves. EXCELLENT BOOK.

This book is great!
I bought this book when I was engaged. I read it, loved it, and put it on the book shelf. I pulled it out again, right after we were married. Again, the book was fresh, and I gained new insights about marriage and my new husband. Now, 2 years later, I read it again, and found it to be filled with valuable information. Whatever stage your relationship is in, you will benefit from this little book. The information is all faithful to Church teachings, and written for the good of the family. It includes the Church's teaching on children and birth control, rules for fighting fair, and other important issues for a truly happy, lifelong love affair with your spouse. It's easy to read, and has fabulous appendixes in the back about the Catechism of the Catholic Church, going to confession, choosing friends, how to contact helpful groups like Engaged Encounter, Marriage Encounter, and the Couple to Couple League. My favorite appendix has a beautiful daily prayer for married couples. We give this book to all our engaged and married friends. It has helped us so much as we strive to live our lives with God at the center of our marriage.

Family Togetherness
If you are looking for a way for your family to spend some time together each night during the Christmas season, then this is the book for you. It is filled with stories that make you laugh and cry. My 4 children ages 6 to 11 couldn't wait each night to see which story was next. It was like an advent calendar that we all could share in.

As a story contributor....
I am writing this review as a story contributor of this Chicken Soup book and a reader as well. I feel honored to be included in this book with such wonderful talent. These stories are just what a Mother needs to read to her children at night before they turn out the light. What a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas season and what a meaningful tradition to start! This is a book to pass down for generations to come! I am proud to be the lead story of such a masterpiece.

Chicken Soup for the Soul Christmas Treasury for Kids
I found the stories to be thought-provoking and fun to share with my kids. We got a lot of good ideas for meaningful things to do this Christmas season. It sure is good to remember what Christmas is really all about and with those that I love the most!

The best of the Chicken Soup series!
I bought this book because I had read co-author Sharon Linnea's fascinating book on Princess Kaiulani, the girl who would have become Queen of Hawaii. I loved Chicken Soup from the Soul of Hawaii so much that I have given it to all my friends. People who have lived in Hawaii thanked me because the book has caught the authentic aloha spirit. Friends who read it before going to Hawaii for a vacation discovered it to be a better introduction to the Hawaiian culture and way of life than the guide books they had read. One friend who has never been to Hawaii and never expects to go lost sleep because she stayed up all night reading the book because the stories are so unique, warm and inspiring.

This book is entertaining, educational, and inspirational
Chicken Soup from the Soul of Hawaii is a wonderful book. I have lived in Hawaii for 20 years, and I still learned so much about Hawaii. Reading this book is like taking a tour of the Hawaiian islands. This book has stories by celebrities like Kelly Preston and Bo Derek, but I enjoyed the stories about the local legends and regular people more. One story that sticks out is about the legendary swimmer and surfer Duke Kahanamoku who designed and popularized the first aloha shirts in the 1930's. I was also inspired by the story of Hao Dang who found freedom in Hawaii after spending 3 months on the ocean and living in a Thai refugee camp. Today this young woman supervises 150 employees as a director of housekeeping for 2 of the biggest hotels on the Big Island. I was enjoyed the contributions of local entertainer Nalani Olds who submitted an interesting story about the history of the Royal Hawaiian Band. Olds also submitted a story about a former prison inmate who turned his life around to become a counselor. I loved the inspirational story of Kanalu Young who was paralyzed in a swimming accident as a teenager. He went on to earn a doctorate in history. He is now a professor of Hawaiian studies at the University of Hawaii I enjoyed reading about the story of Angela Perez Baraquio who became the first Asian to win Miss America in the pageant's 80 year history. This book is also very educational. I only knew 3 Hawaiian words before reading this book. I learned many more Hawaiian words like Lokahi which means unity and H'ookipa which means to interact or share. Chicken Soup from the Soul of Hawaii is entertaining, informative and inspirational. I enjoyed it very much.

The spirit of Aloha come alive!
I just purchased this book today and have already read two stories. What a warm and wonderful book!! I loved it! There are so many touching, small kid time, heartwarming stories, you can't help but feel the warmth of aloha from Hawaii. Sit back, grab a beach towel and read on....
