A quick clarification of identity...
A nice book of poetry--but since I'm asked this a lot, let me add that the Mark Waid who wrote this is not the Mark Waid who writes for DC and Marvel Comics...which, for all I know, may come as a relief to both of them.

There Are More Up to Date Books
This is an adequate review of the topic, but to get more up to date details I would suggest a newer book. I did find that I wanted more background detail at times. I would have also liked more details of what was taking place in the White House. Overall, not a bad book, but I wish I had spent the time with something more up to date.

The Three Stooges (Pop Culture Legends)
A quick, but sparse reading of the history of the legendary comedy team. The facts contained are not new to fans. However, those seeking a brief introduction to the beginnings of the Stooges and their work will find this to be a good start. The book appears to be part of a series of books about pop culture legends. This, however, is misleading since this book fails to show what social and economical factors lead to the popularity of the Stooges and why it has endured for 70 years since their first screen appearance. While it is true that much of the Stooges' success today is due to their exposure on television, still any insight as to why movie goers of the 30's and 40's, seeking to escape the days of Depression and World War, and generations from the 60's through the 90's, still identify with The Three Stooges.

Schlock Theater
First, let me just say: Wow. This book is like a 70's drive-in creature feature where you can see the zipper on the monster's back. It's entertaining in a throw-your-popcorn-at-the-screen kind of way, but it's also hilariously and unbelievably bad. (And a cheap rip off of Graham Masterton's THE MANITOU.) A woman grows a monster on the back of her neck and after several attempts by doctors to remove it (it grows back at one point) the monster is born and the woman runs around with a bloodthirsty critter attached to her back. I was laughing hysterically through the last 50 or so pages when the monster grows legs and starts carrying the woman around on it's back and runs loose in a mall with a SWAT team chasing it. If you enjoyed old horror movies like IT'S ALIVE and BASKETCASE, then you'll have fun with this book. I'm giving it three stars because I appreciate the kind of horror schlock that inspired it, but again let me just say: Wow.

Interesting questions for Christians to Answer folowing 9/11
The author poses some challenging questions that face all questions and he does so in a quite readable format. The writing does not break new ground, but it does present the questions in a timely context -- post Sept. 11.

The examples of challenges are good (although somewhat repetetive) and he proposes some spiritual solutions to these challenges.

Overall, a nice read

Ow! My brain hurts!
Yep, it's one of those "stare at it for hours and see nothing" picture books. As for "stare at it for hours and see nothing" picture books, it is pretty good. About the third picture, though, my brain fought back and melted my eyes right out of the sockets as an act of rebellion. So, if you value you sight and your sanity, stear clear of this Ultra Three d Book.

WAY TOO MUCH
This book claims to be for a lower-level college Astronomy course. Currently, I am enrolled in a lower level astronomy course and have just completed the book. IN the early chapters the book is supurb, primarily because it relies heavily on definitions, however, further into the book (where it supplies explinations) it becomes extremely confusing. While explaining something the author will quickly spit out 3 or 4 new words which immediately leaves the reader mind boggled. I found myself reading a whole section just to have no clue what it was really trying to say. I recomend this book if you are an advanced astronomy student, yet if you are a beginer or just taking it to satisfy your science core requirment (which I am) stay lightyears away from this book. It starts off great but then throws WAY TOO MUCH at you.

You had better be a fan
This is a great book if you are a fan. It provides lots of information that you can't really find anywhere else (i.e. the timeline). this book suffers however when it comes to the game. there is not a great deal of substance to the character development process. Not enough species, skills, occupations or statistical ablities. If you have no knowledge of the comic book Usagi Yojimbo, you should avoid this game. It is not for the serious roleplayer, however, with a little bit of help and a lot imagination this fairly simple game can be a blast.

Wide World of Music
As a future music teacher, I recieved this book as a gift from friends of mine, also future teachers. Usborne is a great company, though they don't offer many music books. This book is a good introduction to world music, and the coverage of countries is great! It even includes countries I've never heard of and a map in the front to place the countries. Some songs even include suggestions for accompaniment, mostly of rhythm instruments. The simple songs can be easily played by a beginner piano player, or the melody can be played by almost any instrument. Several songs are in the native language, but there are also plenty of English songs, as well as English translations. The pictures and music and art information is also an added plus! I'm not sure what age range it would fit into. But this book could be easy enough for kindergartners easily through 5th grade, if included with other lesson plans. Also good for a young beginning piano student, or young singer to introduce languages. Also great as an introduction to various ethnic instruments. Overall, a good basic world music buy!!

Halfway There
Does little or nothing on its supposed thesis of showing the development of the hersir from the free farmer-warrior. Too much space wasted on showing a system of catagorizing swords which then is never used to show anything. One of the worst things I've ever seen from Osprey, though still an okay book. You are better off getting the Elite series #3 on Vikings.
