If My Pizza Guy Rode a Broom Maybe the Pizza Would Be Hot
The 47 cats that witch Wittilda has taken in and cares for are down to their last dried rat! Wittilda goes job hunting and becomes a pizza delivery person with the added edge of swift broom locomotion. She loves her job but the competition is fierce. She gets in a bind when she has to choose between her kind hearted ways and her job. This is such a fun book with super illustrations. There's loads of humour, bright colors, and clever little details to search for, hidden among the hubbub on each page. Wittilda will win your heart.

Delightful childrens tale of a problem solving witch.
Wittilda the Witch needs to provide for her 47 cats. She seeks a job that matches her talents and finally gets a chance to deliver pizzas. Her broom helps beat the competition. However, just when everything is going great she is forced to make a decision that concerns someone in need. The time it takes to rescue a friend, could cost her the pizza delivery job. Excellent illustrations by Mark Buehner, the same talented artist who did the Taxi Dog books. A perfect Halloween favorite.

Journeys to Selfhood, Hegel and Kierkegaard

Enhanced with an extensive bibliography and index
In Journeys To Selfhood: Hegel & Kierkegaard, Mark Taylor charted the historical background of philosophy through establishing a creative dialogue between two the 20th Century's most influential philosophers. Hegel and Kierkegaard defined the poles between all significant modern and post-modern theologies ranging from Kierkegaardian neo-orthodoxy to Hegelian "death-of-God" theology, from Hegelian phenomenology and structuralism to Kierkegaardian deconstruction and post-structuralism. This new edition of a classic study, enhanced with an extensive bibliography and index, will be a welcome addition to contemporary philosophy and theology reading lists for students and scholars.

Karate the Japanese Way

A "must have" for every karate student
Mark Groenewold's new book Karate the Japanese Way is definitely a "must have" for every karate student. Mark's conversational writing style makes this book very easy to read and enjoy. In contrast to so many other karate texts, Karate the Japanese Way gives the reader a sense of chatting with a friend, rather than being preached at by a self-proclaimed karate master. The book is very well illustrated and covers the entirety of Mark's training in Japan, from the day he met his teacher, Taniguchi-sensei, through warm-ups and stretching to what he calls the triad of karate... kihon, kata and kumite.

This book does not go into too many details with regards to the execution of karate techniques, nor does it profess to. This is not a "how to" manual of karate. Instead it shows those of us in the Western world how karate is really taught and learned in Japan.

I am not a "dan" level student in karate, nor do I even train in the same style of karate (Shotokan), as Groenewold-sensi, but I still think this book should be on the bookshelf of every karate student, regardless of rank or style.

Review: ¿Karate the Japanese Way¿ by Mark Groenewold
"Karate the Japanese Way" written by Mark Groenewold is truly a wonderful book. Groenewold Sensei has torn asunder concepts of what Western Karate practitioners conceive how Karate is done in Japan. Mark has given us, best described in his own words, an "unadulterated perspective of what karate is like in Japan, how the Japanese train, and what are the key elements of karate from a Japanese perspective." Not many of us "Dans" have ever trained in Japan, so Groenewold Sensei takes through a tour of Karate in Japan chapter by chapter. Answering many questions we might have about types of dojos, etiquette, types of instructors and so many other topics. By interweaving his own experiences through out the book makes the reading not only fun but very interesting. To be honest with you all, I am so glad my Shodan testing was nothing like Groenewold Sensei's. Please, do not misconstrue my previous statement. My exam was very demanding and grueling but it was not insane. What am I talking about.... well, buy this book and find out!
I recommend this book to one and all. No matter what your rank is, one will learn from it

Delightful
The American Revolution was unfortunate in one minor respect. United States national politics and governance is terribly boring. The office-holders on this side of the Atlantic are called President, Senator, Congressman, Under-Secretary of State for Latin American Affairs and other dull republican titles. We don't get to have a High Almoner, a Swan Marker, a Boy Bishop, or any of the other offices the British have accumulated over the centuries. Not even an Herb Strewer.

This book examines the histories of many of Britain's historic offices, both ancient and relatively modern. The office-holders are beautifully photographed, many in their distinctive dress and regalia. Many of these stories are fascinating. I never knew, for example, that the Bishop of Norwich is also legally the Abbot of St. Benet-at-Holme or that anyone visiting the Hospital of St. Cross can still get the Wayfarer's Dole, a piece of bread and a cup of beer, merely by asking for it.

Essential for anyone interested in history. Also, a fascinating read.

Fascinating
It's quite fascinating to see what went to managing a kingdom. Even though many of these are largely cermonaly now, it's still makes me think what it must have been like in England's hey day when all of these people where at the height of their power.

The pictures and writing are top notch.

Excellent and informative!
I read this edition after reading the 2nd edition, and I couldn't be happier with it. This edition includes information about the diet's use in infants, as well as tube feeding issues. I was very glad to see the added info, as my 4 month old son began the diet recently and we're still fine-tuning it. Thanks to this book, not only do I understand more about the diet's "quirks", I feel I'm more able to assist the dietitians and neurologists in the planning of my son's diet. I highly recommend it to anyone who's considering implementing the diet.

Even Better Than Before!
I just got my copy of the third edition of this wonderfulbook. It's even better than the second edition.

1. The menu plansare better and more complete. 2. They include information on howthey think the diet works. 3. The whole book just flows better thanbefore.

I highly recommend this book (and the diet) to all withepilepsy -- adults too!

Outstanding book for all kid show performers.
While Mark Wade's KIDSHOW VENTRILOQUISM is aimed at the ventriloquist who entertains kids (you might have guessed this from the title!), it has valuable information for ANY entertainer who works with kids. Whether you venue is schools, birthday parties, libraries, whether you are an amateur vent or pro, you will get the benefit of Mark's knowledge learned from his many years in the business. And if you are a magician or clown who would like to add some vent to your act, there is a lot of useful information here. KIDSHOW VENTRILOQUISM has a place on every entertainer's bookshelf. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Clearly-written book filled with practical information.
I thoroughly enjoyed Mark Wade's book. This book should be required reading, not only for ventriloquists, but for anyone who performs for children and family audiences. Kid Show Ventriloquism is filled with lots of practical information. Mark's book covers many important subjects. There's a chapter on performing in different venues, such as libraries, schools or corporate functions, with sample routines for each. There's tips on audience management and performing for different age groups. You'll find lots of practical information on sound systems, tables and stage layouts. There's even an excellent chapter on promoting yourself. In short, this is a valuable resource that will be known as "the standard" in the field of entertaining children for years to come. I highly recommend it without hesitation.

Beautifully Kim book!!!
Anyone else out there who loves the infectious Disney show Kim Possible would really dig this cool book. It basicly contains two episodes of the show, Bueno Naco and Tick-tick-tick which are two of my personal favourites, Kim fights Shego in the end of each, it's so cool.

Every single page is beautifully rendered in full color and the printing is top notch. I think that the comic book style layout of the the story has a really fun feel about it and overall this book would be a charming addition to any KP fans collection.

Cool!
When I read "Prepare for a Rocket Ride!" on the back cover of the book, I was both hopefull and cautious at the same time. You just never know what your going to get when you check out a new Author. After I sat the book down two days later, I felt as though I had just been a part of an action/adventure movie! I highly recomend this author and this book to those who love modern day fiction that has something to say.

Kirov's Marauders

Watch out for the switchbacks, Excelent job John Simpson, BRAVO. Looking forward to your next book. I hope you continue your Space Piracy series.

Extremely useful
As a math minor at Mount Holyoke (yes, my professors actually wrote the book!) I found the book extremely useful especially as an introduction to writing math reports and papers. You will too. :)
