For Digimon fan(atics) like me, this book is very helpful. Not so much for the "let's see if I got this card" kind of thing. It's more of a pictorial reference for me. Plus, if you just want to "have" the cards without spending too much money, they're all right here. A peek at the new cards is in the back, including Season 2 Digimon. In all honesty, this book is already outdated because all new sets are out. If you're looking for quick picture reference, this is the book for you.

Dr. Johansen and Bowers have provided a "how to" manual that specifically details those steps necessary to successfully use, and understand, digital analysis. It is imperative that the uniqueness of any individual characteristics of a bite mark, or those teeth that cause the mark, to be reliably, accurately and precisely analyzed in a replicable fashion. Such techniques do exist and the authors lead the reader to a full working knowledge of how to prepare, handle and utilize the evidence. All manipulations are handled via Adobe Photoshop 5.0®.

This book is a hands-on, reference that requires the operator to follow specific steps to achieve maximum and optimum results. At first, the tasks seem difficult, but repetition increases the operator's familiarity and ease of use. They include that a test case eases the reader's understanding and provide for immediate experience.

I encourage and enthusiastically recommend this book to all my forensic dental colleagues. The techniques learned herein will become the benchmark for digital analysis of photographic evidence.

Directing Feature Films: The Creative Collaboration Between Directors, Writers, And Actors by Mark Travis (an experienced director of motion pictures, television programs, and stage shows) is a welcome and thoroughly "user friendly" resource that carefully and informatively guides the reader through the creativity of filmmaking from the initial concept to the finished work on the silver screen. Offering a wealth of advice and insights on everything from dealing with disputes on-set, to using emotional graphs, to improve communication about acting performance, to working closely with consultants, Directing Feature Films is an invaluable and very strongly recommended resource for all active and aspiring filmmakers.

This is a good starter book if you are learning Director 5. It's a simple book for the beginner to understand. Macromedia also includes a cdrom will all of their product demos. Also includes a save disabled version of Director 5.0

Many times I would rather have a step-by-step guide, instead of a large book with a lot of extra information. This guide will get you started down the right path to get your business continuity/disaster recovery plans started. The guide is clear, concise, and packed with useful information.

Great Photography in this book

Even if you think you have no interest whatsoever in dinosaurs, you can still enjoy Discovering Dinosaurs in the American Museum of Natural History. Reading this book rivals taking an actual trip to the museum's splendid dinosaur halls. Norell, Gaffney, and Dingus present the first half of the book in question-answer format and dedicate the second half to AMNH specimens and expeditions. Questions range from the simple (What are dinosaurs?) to the complicated (How did nonavian dinosaurs become extinct?) to the unusual (How did dinosaurs mate?). You can poke in a coprolite (fossilized dung) to find what dinosaurs ate or see how workers mount colossal skeletons. Along with answers and information, you get a bonus prize: the incredible illustrations of Erwin Christman. Few contemporary artists can compete with the beauty and accuracy of Christman's nearly century-old work. A drawing or photograph graces nearly every page of Discovering Dinosaurs. Photographs depict paleontology's past, specimens of dinosaurs and of animals that lived at the same time as them, trackways, and current assignments. The book includes the stunning results of the AMNH Gobi expeditions of 1991-1995: beautifully preserved skeletons of oviraptors. Whether you want to examine the texture of dinosaur skin or peer into a tyrannosaur's mouth, Discovering Dinosaurs gets two claws up--20 feet up!

Discovering the Old Testament: Story and Faith is a colourful college textbook introducing the Old Testament. The layout is similar to Encountering the Old Testament (by Bill T. Arnold et al). Each chapter begins with learning objectives, questions to consider, and key words to understand. Coded side bars cover topics such as "The Apocrypha" and "Modern Translations of the Bible." Each side bar is coded as Interpretive, Theological, Historical, Cultural, or Archaeological. Chapters end with summary statements, questions for reflection, and resources for further study. Numerous photographs are included with a large number drawn from modern Judaism. There is a brief appendix on Jewish history from 331 to 63 B.C.

This 382 page book is very readable and probably appropriate in depth for a college textbook, although in this space cannot go as deep as, say, LaSor, Hubbard and Bush (Old Testament Survey). It is written from a conservative perspective but critical scholarship is presented in abbreviated form. For example, the standard dates for Second and Third Isaiah are presented in a paragraph. There is a general failure to engage such critical issues and the authors present "scholarly opinion" alongside "conservative evangelical" scholarship without always committing to a particular view. So on the authorship of Isaiah they write "There is no unanimous opinion on this issue among conservative evangelical scholars. Some prefer the multiple authorship view. Others view the entire book as the work of Isaiah of the eighth century B.C." (p 293).

Much of the content of the book summarizes the biblical content. New Testament interpretation is mentioned in theological sidebars where relevant and the reader is encouraged to apply theological insights to personal faith.

The majority of the book was written by Alex Varughese who also edited the work as a whole. Varughese and the other three authors are department heads of Christian liberal arts colleges (I do not know who Robert L. Lewis is [named in the ...description]. He is not listed on my copy).

This book will prove a colourful and readable introduction to the Old Testament, especially in terms of biblical content and life application. The numerous illustrations allow the reader to visualise Israel and modern Judaism.
