Classic work in the field of nonverbal communication
Dr. Knapp has been a distinguished scholar in the field of communication for the past 35 years. This is a very small sampling of his honors: He is a Fellow of the International Communication Association and has served as its President. He received the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Speech Communication Association in l993 and served as President of that association in l989-90. Dr. Knapp is the author of many articles and several books besides this one, including: Interpersonal Communication and Human Relationships (with A. Vangelisti) and Handbook of Interpersonal Communication (with G. Miller). Dr. Knapp has acted as consultant, lecturer, and trainer for over fifty different business organizations, voluntary groups, and government agencies. He is currently a Professor in the Communication Department at the University of Texas at Austin. ...

Dr. Hall has also been a well-respected scholar for over 20 years. She obtained her Ph.D. at Harvard and is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she teaches social-personality psychology, interpersonal and nonverbal communication, gender differences and health psychology. She has published many scholarly articles and books on the subject of nonverbal communication...

Nonverbal Communication in Human Interaction is a textbook used in communication and psychology departments at universities all over the country. It is considered a classic work in the field of nonverbal communication. Whether you are just beginning to read about this topic or you have studied it extensively, this book will be useful to you. There is an index, a comprehensive table of contents, extensive footnotes and lists of further readings on this subject at the end of every chapter.

In short, if you read this book, you can be sure that you have gained thoroughly accurate, up-to-date and comprehensive information on the subject of nonverbal communication. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Let's "talk" nonverbally!
It's enough to read the table of contents - and you're amazed, astonished of possibilities to communicate without the words! I just can't imagine how it would be to read the whole book... Super, turbo, extra, lux!

The perfect Notre Dame football reference book
If you knew a starting football player, wanted to check a reference to an alumnus, or argued about how the Irish faired against former powers like Haskell, Carnegie Tech, and Great Lakes Academy, this is the book for you. The authors assembled biographies of Notre Dame players and coaches, including past heroes such as Frank Carideo (2 national titles as quarterback and kicker), Frank Tripucka (a football star before his son played basketball), and Marchy Schwartz (the second best running back Rockne ever coached).

Scores, records, and titles from the dawn of Notre Dame football to the recent past follow the personal entries, including individual awards, All-American honors, bowl appearances, and records against opponents. Other interesting notes include lists of leaders in every player performance category and the names of all the Irish who went on to play professional football.

This comprehensive guide to Notre Dame football is authoritative and fascinating and makes a perfect companion to other books or accounts of great games.

Everything You Ever Needed To Know About ND Football
This book exceeded my expectations and is a valuable part of my Notre Dame library. The book is comprehensive and written in a lively manner. If you want to know anything about the Irish, this is the place to get it. I have been a fan my whole life and learned many interesting facts.

The NutritionalSupplements.com Bible: What the Supplement Manufacturers Don't Want You to Know!
Published in Paperback by NutritionalSupplements.com (January, 2002)
Author: Mark Wimberley
Amazon base price: $29.95
Average review score:

Full of High Quality, Valuable Information.
I had been searching hard to find honest reviews of popular nutritional supplements. I learned far more from The NutritionalSupplements.com Bible than expected. The most helpful part was reading the hundreds of first hand experiences that honest, unbiased consumers have had while using popular diet, weight loss, and muscle building supplements. Plus, there are tons of reviews of just about every nutritional supplement on the market today. I now only buy a supplement after reading reviews of it in The NutritionalSupplements.com Bible. This way I know that it works before I try it and I am getting much better results.

THE SUPPLEMENT BOOK YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
The NutritionalSupplements.com Bible is an amazing resource that tells you the good and the bad about supplements through the experiences of people who actually use them. So much of the supplement information out there is thinly disguised sales pitches from companies trying to sell you a product, but this book is different. There are hundreds of reviews from real supplement users on everything from Creatine to Ephedra to St. John's Wort.

The book is organized alphabetically with dictionary-like headings at the top of every page, so finding the information you want is a breeze. You won't believe some of the horror stories people have had with supplements you can buy at any drug store. I can't tell you how much money I've saved by referring to The NutritionalSupplements.com Bible before buying a product. If you want to know if a supplement works as advertised, you need this book! I recommend it highly.

Outstanding
In an easy to read format, and in his absolutely honest way, Mark has written a fantastic guide for communication with anyone in business. While some people are different and have odd preferences, the ideas in this book show how deal with just about anyone in a professional manner. A must read.

A GOOD MODEL FOR HOW YOU WOULD LIKE COMMUNICATIONS
According to research recently conducted by the American Management Association, poor communications is the main stall that delays progress in organizations of all sizes. A key reason for this problem is that each of us does not take the time to let others know the best way to communicate with us. Mr. McCormack does so in this book in an effective way. If you were one of his clients, colleagues or employees, this book would be invaluable. If everyone you worked with described how they would like to get ideas and information from you, you would have the same benefit. My subjective reaction to Mr. McCormack's personal style is that unless you are a CEO of a large organization with a lot of demands on your time, his suggestions may not always work. This would be a good book to have people read in order to stimulate their thinking about how communications in your organization could be improved. I greatly preferred his earliest book, WHAT THEY DON'T TEACH YOU AT HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL, to this one.

Great synopsis of the tour
NOt all of this is accurate, but most of it is. The only thing bad is it's not in color. It has a very detailed behind the scenes look at the 1984 Jacksons victory tour. It has things about thriller to the grammy's and am awards, pepsi commercials and accident and record sales, leading up to the Victory tour. It also talks about the album "Victory" from the perspective of the brothers. They show some of the pictures, fans, etc. One thing they didn't say was how and when Michael began throwing his hats into the audience for Billie Jean. He didn't do that until Dallas or maybe the end of the Kansas show. Even then I couldn't say if it went between the barracade and the stage and didn't even reach the audience. For instance check out moonwalker when they show it. Other things they talke about are costumes, lights, music, and set design.

peace email me for info

Great book, about the Victory tour
This is a great book, and I remember seeing it when I was really young, but I didn't want it because it didn't have colored pictures in it. Other than that it's great. A lot of pictures. If you want photos with color check out "the victory tour" book.

One Tiny Baby, Excellent
One Tiny Baby was my 10 year old son's first book. Somewhere during those 10 years we'd lost it and just a faint memory of it remained. When our daughter came along two years ago, I desperately wanted it to be her first book also and the great quest to find it began. I found the book to be extremely cheap if ordered used but was worried about the condition I would receive it in, however, desperation won out and I ordered it anyway.
When the package came the whole family ripped into it like it was a great Christmas present. We were totally shocked to receive a "used" book in such great condition. It looked like a new book. We were all very pleased.
As I read it to my son for the first time in a long time, we all cried. It feels like a lost piece of our family has been returned. Thank you to everyone that made this possible. We'll treasure this book forever.

Jesus' Birth for Young Children/ Christmas
This book is a counting book, from one to ten.

It is a fun book with excellent illustrations that talks about the birth of Jesus, starting with one tiny baby. Other numbers are the possible sheep, puppies, spiders, and roosters in the stable. Angels and shepherds are also counted. Two pages are used for each number until the book ends. The last two pages are miniatures of the book. On one page each character is placed next to the others like it, so the sets build one side of a triangle; the other page lists the numbers again without the poetry that was in the book to make it easy to read.

There is actually nothing specifically about Christmas in the book. It is just about the nativity. But since my family has read it every year since it came out during the Christmas holidays, I think of it as a Christmas book.

Invaluable Reference.
This book is not a set of miscellaneous papers but a book of detailed planned chapter by chapter guide to open pit design and planning. This is the first of its kind and has had an uncomprehensible amount of detailed background research and planning making it an invaluable reference for any professional involved in open pit design, for both beginners and experienced experts. And for those not experienced with mine planning packages it includes CSMINE a scaled down software of the major mine planning systems which takes you step by step through core basic processes and principles used in resource modelling and open pit design. I highly recommend this book. Digby Millikan. Geolite Mining Systems. Consultant in resource modelling and open pit design.

excelent for mining design
the book is academic and practical for student and mining engineers.

Essential guide for tuning Oracle SQL
This is the best book I've seen for tuning Oracle SQL.
It is well written, up to date (includes 9i info), and full of examples and real world experiences. All packed into 100 little pages!
Many of the Oracle books I've purchased (especially the tuning references) are just sitting on the shelf collecting dust. They're too big, and filled with a lot of 'dead weight'. I've already read this pocket reference twice (it's suprising how much more of it 'sticks' the second time around) and gathered more useful knowledge than all my other sql tuning books combined.
I know this is called a pocket reference simply because of it's size, but it's really more of an instructional manual than just a reference.
Every Oracle developer and DBA should read this book ...at least twice.

Worths to own one!
Yesterday, I saw this pocket book, then I decide to buy it because...
* Clear clarification on which optimizer (cost-based and rule- based) is used for a specific situation and its problems.
* Sorts, indexes, IN/EXISTS, OR/UNION, Loop, joins with tables...etc related performance issues and rating , giving a reader a reminder on the criteria to write a well-performed SQL.
* What is bad SQL?How to use SQL Hints?
* How to analyze table with DBMS_STATS package?
* How to pre-define outline for your execution plan ?

I have bought DBA checklist and Oracle with UNIX, they are my nice partners as well. Haha...I still remember I deal with a staging database problem in my work, I cannot find a solution from a THICK and HEAVY book but from them.

If you need handy guides, pocket references are excellent and light, haha...I want to buy RMAN reference later :D, they seem a series of fiction.

Original Aston Martin DB4/5/6
This book is essential for anyone performing a restoration on or buying a DB4-6. The author is extremely knowledgable, having owned a number of Astons including some real clunkers. Not only does he know what to look for in terms of originality but his knowledge of what can go wrong makes this book a buyers guide in addition to an aid to restoration.

Definitive guide for restoration
As usual in the "Original" serie, the author goes through every possible detail of the various cars, covering the models: DB4, GT, Zagato (including the Sanction II re-edition), DB5 and DB6, with the Convertible, Volante and Vantage variations, plus the Estate conversions and the Lagonda Rapide (? not sure about the name) which shared the same chassis with the DB serie.

The only proper definition for the book is ANAL... it is! every little aspect, down to the correct colors for the distribution wires, is covered. That's why is the DEFINITIVE guide if you intend to buy a DB and have it restored to the showroom conditions, or check if what you're about to buy is what's claimed to be.

now, if the author would kindly give me a DB4 Series I as a present for this excellent review, I'd be extremely grateful! :-)
