This author could bore for the USA. The content of this book could be condensed to less than a quarter of its volume. You get the feeling that he is writing it for himself rather than for the reader. I was just glad that I didn't have to listen to him speaking.

Do people keep asking you if you're read the Celestine Prophecy? Are you harbouring a niggling suspicion, or a even a growing conviction that there just might be more to life than you thought there was? Have you noticed a lot of funny coincidences recently? Congratulations! You're on your path. Despite the somewhat imposing title of this work, it's actually a very user-friendly guide to spiritual growth. This book contains a variety of practical suggestions designed to help you discover your innate skills and talents. When you figure out what they are, then you simply have to use them in order to fulfil your soul's purpose in your (current!) lifetime.

I was really disappointed with this book. I expected a manual or atleast a guide on how to use dreams for self improvement and self understanding. The book is a compilation of several short writings about different authors ranging from personal expericences to general tips about dreams. The one thing I
learned from this book that is useful is to record your dreams
in a journal and keep it beside your bed, the rest you're better off with other books or if you're low on cash just surf the net. You would have greater insights. Bottom line: Only buy this book if you want to hear about different experiences about dreams but don't buy it if you want to learn how to use dreams effectively and constructively. You been warned the rest is up to you.

DreamScaping is just great. Usually dream books are the opinion of one person. This book has dozens of people and they are clearly all tops in their fields. I really enjoyed this book and learned more about dreams and dreamwork in one reading than all the rest of the dream books I have read together. |Bill

When i read the author listing and their occupations, after i had purchased this book ... i was a bit furious at myself, as if i had wasted money in quenching my thirst for this new language based on XML. Unlikely, the book is very well authored and gives references to vendors and tools that provide hands on experience of this new language and makes it rather less formidable for a person trying to grasp the specs (which are already numerous enough to confuse you when you look into XML technology). In short, provides considerable in depth to serve the purpose of deciding to go this way or not ... at the same time it demonstrates and teaches the language (as minimum and limited as it is currently) in a exemplary way, so in my opinion it strikes a good balance between the theory and examples it provides. Infact focuses more on examples and practicality, if you are really interetsed in using this language somewhere down the road i would advise to get this book than rather scratch your head over its specs a W3C for long periods of time.

I question the integrity of several points that are out of compliance with Florida statute. For example, taping or using a video recorder is permissable by Florida statute for a HOMEOWNERS meeting. 617.306 # 8. This book can cause unnecessary confrontations at meetings.

This is one of the few books on the subject of homeowning rules for the State of Florida. This book has been out of print since 1996.

I purchased this book based on previous experience with Fodor's books. The categories were helpful for a quick determination of the type of facility. The descriptions however seemed more like advertisements from the various facilities rather than informed experiences from the writers. The rates were not up to date and there are no web sites listed. Unbelievable for a travel book published in 2000!

I can't tell you how often I have used this book in the year I've owned it. It describes every major spa in the US and Mexico so well. The categories is uses to classify are great. I've sent copies to several friends so we can plan getaways together. Even if you just want to fantasize about going to a spa, it's a great reference.

Typical format of most Haynes manuals, good illustrations and pictures. Intended for the do-it-yourself person that has average skills and some knowledge of automotive systems. I particularly like Haynes for their directions on improvising those "special tools" available only to dealers. Sometimes this type of advice is worth the cost of the manual, rather than have to buy or rent a special tool. Be aware this manual does not cover the 4WD models and driveline systems unique to them.

I found this book very basic...its allright for the average Joe...it needs better electrical diagrams

I was extremely disappointed with this book. It doesn't go into detail on anything. Instead, Mark feels like a half paragraph on most details will cover it. I have yet to hear of an engineer that is satisfied with fluff. What Mark Davis will describe is how the power of God helped him invent. In fact, the forward is written by his priest! I am sorry, but... I don't want someone telling me that invention comes from divine intervention.

It's a great book for everyone who want to make money from only one good idea in his head. Sample and clear guide for independent inventors and enthusiast. FROM MIND TO MARKET describes in detail every step in patent process and give useful ideas how to improve inventions and how to sell them. Mark Davis and Patrick Norris offers all they experience gain in the huge world of inventions. Everyone has a great idea and may learn how to sell and protect it. That is a moto in FROM MIND TO MARKET.

This is a very poorly written piece of history. I'm not an expert on the topic but I know that most English teaches would have returned this. He should have improved the writing and the editors should have intervened.

Mark Thurner's recent FROM TWO REPUBLICS TO ONE DIVIDED is a landmark contribution to Andean history and historical anthroplogy writ large--a book bound to provoke healthy controversy among scholars and students alike. This is the first book-length study to deploy insights from "post-colonial" theory to explore the complex roles of indigenous peoples in the politics and political imagination of republican Peru. Based on remarkable archival research about indigenous communities and the state in the little-studied Huaylas-Ancash region, the book begins by insightfuly tracing the paradoxical fate of the so-called colonial "Indian republics" in early republican politics. The second half of the book zeros in on the Atusparia revolt of the latter part of the century, as a sign of the widening gulf between Creole nationhood and indigenous politics as Peru approached the 20th century. All in all, Thurner offers a complex and thoughtful alternative to both "integrationist" and "resistance" visions of the role of Indians in the liberal-republican world, and in its theoretical sections new ways of thinking about ethnicity and the "national problem" across Latin American history. The American Historical Review already hails this work as "an important book" that provides a "pathbreaking analysis of peasants'use of republican discourse." The Hispanic American Historical Review proclaims it a "sophisticated study" with "impressive" "intellectual and analytical power". Whatever, FROM TWO REPUBLICS TO ONE DIVIDED ought be on the shelf of every serious (and not-so-serious) student of the region.

Although the information in this book may all be factual, it is the most poorly written textbook I've read. I'm a professional proofreader and lifelong (60 years) student of writing styles, as well as a writer of newspaper and magazine articles. These authors violate just about every tenet of good style there is. The short list includes extreme unnecessary use of passive voice, poor word choice, ridiculous repeated statements of the obvious coupled with unexplained use of arcane terminology. I'm using this as the required textbook in a course in Industrial Safety, or I wouldn't bother finishing it. I blame the publisher for poor editing as much as I do the authors. I will grant that basic explanations of safety terms and government regulations do not make for compelling reading, but there's no excuse for using what I call the "--and then also too--" school of expository writing. Moreover, I object to the extended use of the Herbert Hoover doctrine of economics ("When a lot of people are out of work, unemployment results") and the Edmund G. Brown theory of social relations ("The burden of poverty lies mainly with the poor.") Maybe this is the best book available on this subject; if so, we have a desperate need for someone to write another.

This is a wonderful book designed for the student or the safety professional. It covers most of the major points safety practitioners deal with and gives good reference material for further study. I highly recommend this book.

I thought this book was ridiculous, absolutely an utter waste. Although it was a good idea, this book fails miserably at its task. First, the lectures are too simple for an honors chemistry class at a technical university. By the time I reached my freshman chemistry class, I'd already had 2 full years of chemistry and a semester of organic chemistry. I don't need a review on units. Second, Albert treats the regular person as an idiot. I won't ruin it for you if you want to read it. Third, the book is full of stereotypes and pure ignorance concerning chemistry and scientists. And lastly, the writing is terrible. Don't buy this book.

Galen's Lectures is one of those books that grabs your attention in the first line, and doesn't let go until the last. Doctor Galen is a honorable man just trying to get through his day like the rest of us. What appealed to me was his compassion for others and his love of teaching. I was enarmored with him during that first encounter on the wharf, and cheering for him every second afterward. And when the story was over, not only did I have a better understanding of chemistry, but I was really glad I got to know Mason Galen. This is one of those rare novels that you can read again and again and again.
