Love and Mayhem
Groo the Barbarian's lady love Chakaal features in these episodes where despite her attempts to travel to the furthest place on earth to get away from him he's tracked her down. Chakaal is in fine form, defeating raiding female warriors from the sea. Groo is also in fine form, spoiling half her plans and coming up with a plan to save a village that works except the village doesn't need saving when he springs it - too late! Together they free a village of the terror of a resident giant spider and investigate a dragon hatchery scam. Chakaal manages almost with sentimental regret to get away from him in the end - or does she?

Note: the printing quality is generally okay to very good for the series, but this is generally a collection for Groo fans and comic book fans. The binding on some of my copies is broken (these are soft backs) and the print is now and then not the greatest. As a fan, I bought every collection I could, and enjoy them despite this! Not though for long-term pristine collectors though.

Growing Herbs and Vegetables from Seed to Harvest
I read this book and I use it as a reference for my job. I am a horticulture Specialist with Lincoln University Cooperative Extension. I received some great tips like cutting the seedlings of onions and scallions in half after three weeks of growth to help them come back stronger. The pictures and tips are wonderful. The passion that the authors have for gardening definitely show through in this book. This book is great for the beginner as well as the advanced gardener.

Not the Most Reliable for Information, But Charming Reading
If you are looking for a sourcebook to the facts about ukiyo-e and the artists who made them, I would recommend something a little more modern. But Stewart's discussion of Japanese prints has much to recommend it. First and most importantly, he concentrates on nineteenth century prints, and describes series and works within series in great detail. As these are the works that dominate the print market these days, this information is of much help to the collector. Moreover, Stewart describes artists and their work with highly personal but entertaining aesthetic judgements, taking the risks of saying "the first Chushingura series of Eisen is superior to the second" as few works after him have done so baldly. Wonderful for the print collector to curl up with on a late night and dream of the days when Hiroshiges still went for shillings! The guide to artists and dating in the rear is also helpful, though it must take a second place to Richard Lane's guide in Images from the Floating World and other, more recent sources. Still, this work has a flavor all of its own, and is recommended to the novice (who shouldn't always accept everything Stewart says as fact) and the expert (who can read between the lines and sometimes get a good laugh.)

Great book for beginning speech-language pathologists (SLP)
I found this book to be extremely helpful as a school-based SLP. It leads you through the process of detemining what type of narrative to elicit for each age group (preschool - 12th). The book was fairly easy to read, and came with lots of research with which to compare a child's performance. It offers many types of forms to use in the assessment process and practical exercises to practice analyzing narrative samples. I will use many of the procedures and forms in my own practice. This would be a great book for grad students as well!

Interesting!
I love the full color pictures - as Guinness books go, this is one of the best in my opinon. It's broken down into different subjects - science, history, the human body, etc. Recomended!

Excellent, a real eye opener to the wonders of the world
To tell you the truth, I never really wanted to know what the worlds largest soda bottle was, or the biggest ball of yarn, but the book made me think of the cool stuff people can do. Good book

Great Medieval horror characters
I played the first two Myth computer games in to the ground, and loved almost every minute spent doing so. The book is a good read even for those who might not GM a game. It gives you insight in to enemies in a way that some of the other GURPS books do not, being such an all in one world. The Myth world however, is very self contained. The magic system is different than what most GURPS magic uses, with mages being sometimes infinitely more powerful in one area, but at the same time extremely focused. The races are somewhat limited, and although you could bring in time travelers with alternate tech or races, a large part of what makes this interesting is the horror aspect of it. There are shambling undead of course, but one of the things this world excels at is very focused evil. The undead are sometimes ambidexterous sprinters with four foot long sharpened Escrima sticks in each hand . . . and they want to dice you just for living. All around, very good character development for the land, and its inhabitants

Great information
I'm a big fan of Gwen Torrence so I love to see when there is abook or movie about her. I really enjoyed the photos in the bookbecause a lot of them I have never seen before, like for example, her college years. I've never known much about her or her accomplishments in college. It covered her highlights really well. This book covered her background very well. I read some facts about her that I have never heard before(and I'm a fan). The only things that I didn't or let me say, was a little disappointing was that it was kind of short(the length of the book) and it didn't include any pictures from the 1996 Atlanta Games. Over all, I would recommend it to any and every Gwen Torrence fan out there.

Definitely worth a look
This was an ambitious undertaking. Information available from state to state (or ____ to ____, insert the jurisdictional or geographical units of your choice) is wildly inconsistent. Land status often changes rapidly, as do what we know and what we can say about resource conditions at any given moment.  "Habitats and Ecosystems..." necessarily became a historical document once it was finalized.  But it is nevertheless a useful one-stop reference guide to natural America; and an intriguing browse for conservation-minded readers.

I was one of the many people around the U.S. whom Mark Crawford enlisted to provide information for his book, and I know what a chore it was for him to take what I could provide and distill it into something useful.

Of course, that means I got my copy free! - but I'm sure the book will be a useful addition to my library. I'll refer to it regularly, and I'd buy it if I didn't have it already.
