Non-Victim Strategies for Breast Cancer
"Women Confront Cancer" presents strong, positive women who refuse to become victims of their disease. "Passive patients fare worse" is a Medical Literature classic truth, yet breast cancer patients are treated like robots: their bodies are cut, burned with carcinogenic radiation and poisoned in order to "kill" the cancer. Unfortunately, doctors can't kill disease, only the patient. Alternatives are the future. Disease cannot be cut out of the body, but cancer can be healed. It takes work and strength and dedication. It takes research and experimenting to find out what works. It can be done and without medical "treatments" which will someday be called the dark ages of cancer treatment. These women did it their way. They showed the way to survival. This book empowers all cancer patients, men or women.
Finding their way
For anyone considering an alternative or complementary cancer therapy, this book is a guide to the pitfalls and the opportunites, the struggles and triumphs of choosing your own way. An inspiring account of how 21 women, very different from each other, faced their diagnosis of cancer, evaluated the science, used their intuition and made their own choices about treatment and how they would live their lives. This collection of their stories, told in their own words, is set against the backdrop of conventional medicine and the emergence of complementary and alternative cancer medicine in America. The collection is an illuminating read. Every woman can find a bit of herself in this book which is empowering and instructive.

A Great Book
This book is great. It is a must read for anyone who has tested positive for HIV,has aids,or knows anyone who are in either of these situations. All others not in any of these categories, will be touch by the way that Dr. Mahlon Johnson's opens up his heart and shares even the most intimate thoughts and details of his life as he goes about "working on a miracle". He explains in a very understandable way exactly how he waged war on the virus that had invaded his body. He shares how the courage of one person who touch his life renewed his strength and inspired him to continue his battle with the enemy. So much to learn from this book.
An human review of aids
I read the book and i think is a extraordinary human review of a patient with aids, he showed to us how difficult is live with this desease and the important role of hope in the course of the desease. Creo que es una obra recomendada para todo paciente con VIH/SIDA.

Thank you, Joseph Garlington!!!
This book teaches one that it is alright to enthusiastically worship the Lord, in song, in instrumental music, in dance! He uses Scripture to back up his text. This book is in my "top 10." It is a "liberating" book. As I read it, I could hardly prevent my mouth from falling open every page! It is really ALRIGHT TO WORSHIP THE LORD ENTHUSIASTICALLY!!! God bless you, Joseph Garlington!!!
Powerful and full of insight.
This is a powerful look at how our worship directly relates to spiritual warfare and how God will train our hands to war. Great teaching book for worship leaders, intercessors, the entire church. We can have power in the natural realm by first winning the battle in the spiritual realm.

I found inside information in this book that other writers seem reluctant to give out. Mr. Gregg shares it all with his reader. I seriously could have been stuck in my salary range for years if I hadn't taken his advice. Do yourself a favor and buy this book!

Perfect
The Wind River Range is spectacular and lonely, and this book takes you there -- nature, history, glorious photographs. I can't recommend it enough, both for the arm chair traveler and for the visitor to Wyoming.
Pictures for Thousands of Words
Joe Kelsey's love letter to Wyoming's Wind River Range finally brings pictures to match the mountains. An acknowleged expert on the peaks and valleys of the Winds, his selection of photographs is perfect counterpoint to the crisp, slightly awestruck descriptions of the range. This is the perfect book for those long winter nights spent waiting for the mountains to open up again.

Ultimate Student Edition
Mather and Hewitt's edition of the Anabasis is self-contained in a way that very few Greek texts currently in print are: not only does it have a very detailed line-by-line commentary, map and complete vocabulary, it also has a fulsome introduction to Xenophon and the Anabasis, including what the ancients thought of Xenophon, Xenophon's personality and subsequent literary career, and the organization and equipment of the Persian and Greek armies. The introduction and commentary are both pre-multiculturalist and therefore unabashedly discuss such things as the moral lessons to be drawn from the Anabasis, and the Anabasis as a model of democracy. Throughout, the text is furthermore illustrated with delightful little reproductions of Greek and Persian art, technology, monuments, coins, weapons, etc.
And of course, if you're looking to brush up on your Greek without the aid of a classroom and instructor, this edition is a great choice. Not only does it have the advantages enumerated above, but the Anabasis itself is relatively easy and clear Greek with a historical rather than philosophical vocabulary.
An Excellent Book for Self Study
This is an excellent edition for those who are studying Greek on their own. The Anabasis is a fine second year book because its Greek is easier than the "Apology of Socrates" by Plato. This edition also has grammatical notes and a Greek-English dictionary of all the words you will need for translation. You do not have to spend hours looking them up in the Liddell-Scott lexicon. Also, it lists interesting cognates and borrowings for most words. I strongly recommend this edition for those working on Greek as a hobby or outside of an academic environment.

Good stuff
The only thing missing is "the nigger of the Narcisscus", but you can't have everything. As complex as "the heart of Darkness" is, you may be better served by starting this book with "The end of the Tether", it is great in its apparent simplicity, yet it has its own complexity.
Three of the finest short stories ever written
I first read "Youth" in my own youth, over 25 years ago. It has haunted me ever since. That it is difficult to describe why is, I believe, more a testament to Conrad's subtle skills than to my own undoubted incompetance as an expositor. On one level, "Youth" is little more than a tale of a ill-fated sea voyage, but its poignancy is unmatched by any work of short fiction I've ever come across. Good or bad, pleasant or horrific, our youth is what we all miss. The inclusion of this great novella and the magically exotic "End of the Tether" ought to be more than justification enough to buy this book--even if it didn't also include the justly famous, if sometimes obscure, "Heart of Darkness". No one should think he or she is familiar with Joseph Conrad who has not read all of these three wonderful tales. (If you can find a collection that also includes "The Nigger of Narcissus," even better.)

Excellent collection of tales - many uncommon
This is a book of tales with spiritual meaning that doesn't try to be spiritual and erudite; it simply tells simple stories of simple lives. Some of the tales have Asian roots such as the tale of the Samuria warrior who asks a master about heaven and hell. Some are traditional elaborations on Biblical texts such as the adjective used to describe Moses. Some are humorous expansions of Biblical texts such as why Adam and Eve were not made until the sixth day. Several are stories relating to understanding between Jews, Christians and Muslims. Some are traditional Hasidic tales. Some may even be actual experiences of the author.
All the stories are told clearly and directly - nothing to come between the reader and the story. Each is accompanied by a pen and ink drawing reflecting the simplicity and the message of the story.
There are many religious story books available - Anthony de Mello, Mulla Nasrudin, The Conference of the Birds, Tales of Hasidic Masters, exempla, Jataka ... - this stands as one of the best.
The Wonder of It All
When an 87-year-old Kabbalistic rabbi sits down to spin teaching stories he's learned over his long years, you'd better sit down and listen. This is a modern-day rabbi who relates to all faiths and does so in a humorous and informative manner. I loved this book -- an I am a Muslim married to a Christian.

"10 minutes?!?," you say. Joe Sullivan shows us the way.
... To my surprise I found the book very well laid out and ultra-conducive to high speed learning. To document my effort (and to have fodder for my lawsuit) I videotaped my Flash 5 session. After 7 minutes I began to think that this book really does deliver. At 9 minutes and 47 seconds I threw my hands up in the air and said "Its true, this book is amazing, I can learn this stuff in 10 minutes."...

A good source for tests on grammar for the ESL student
This book contains 1000 Grammar Tests that are easily reproduced for classroom use. These tests follow the sequence given in the authors series of Clear Grammar books but can easily be adapted to any lessons given on grammar. Each chapter has tests on a particular grammar point and at least two types of tests. (Multiple choice, fill in the blanks, sentence writing etc) This book and his series are designed for the beginner and intermediate ESL student but can easily be used in any school setting. Tests follow the same chapter sequence as the Clear Grammar Series but you can also look up tests by the grammar point you wish to test. This book does not teach any grammar points, it is simply a book of tests to help the teacher evaluate and re-inforce the information taught.
