"AFTER THE SALE" says it all. I would like to formally thank the authors for writing the book that is saving my company a lot of time and money" - and keeping my customers satisfied.
I have not only purchased this book - but all of the other technical support books by the same author. A good use of my companies resources!

In addition this text, and others like it, are desparately needed in business schools. Customer service has too long been missing in undergraduate and graduate education. With the services industry becoming a focal point of our economy, Mr.Patton and Bleuel's text is very timely and it is encouraging to see a few of our institutions. recognize the need to incorporate this within their management programs.

The stories within this trade aren't related to each other, there's no continuity. The only things they have in common is that the stories center around Dawn, the goddess of life and death. Tales with a lot of symbolism and surrealism in them. It's more a collection of loose stories which are especially suitable for the Fantasy/Horror lovers.

We are in debt that this period has finally been covered, so a steller effort. The details and research are flawless.
But come on,page 295 fig 102 Carlo Maratti "Triumph of Clemency" a milestone hit of this period by anyones standard, the size of a credit card, in very poor black and white, yet on page 172 we have a commode at least 4 by 4 in full color, in Sotheby auction catalogue format, this book is a catalogue of art objects not an Art book be very aware of the distinction. A lot of really good paintings are black and white, and small while high brow 18th century garage sale objects get full color press.(being a smart ass)
I mean didnt Chiari or Conca do some ceilings somewhere, break it into two books, go heavier into the painting and sculpture, enlarge, add, and color more pictures, do some full page details, put the damn furniture under the Home Depot section of another book, and cut down on all the text, we get the picture you are experts ,so can we get the picture.....thank you though it is a great book wonderful coverage.
I apologize a lot of time went into this book I think too many good cooks spoiled the broth, there are so many great paintings from that period we will never see. A great job Thanks for helping all of us get off the Rococo to Impressionist highway at the 18th Century Roman exit.
Thus, a virtual mother lode of work in all media was produced, not only to be shipped to the opulent homes of the visiting aristocrats but to adorn the Eternal City's churches, palaces, fountains, piazzas, and gardens.
It was in this climate that artists such as Canova, Maratti, Piranesi, Baroni, David, and Fuseli flourished. Art In Rome presents some 500 glorious illustrations accompanied by edifying texts penned by some of the world's foremost scholars. It is a volume to savor, to treasure, and to enjoy over and over again.
We find Antonio Canova, perhaps best remembered for his reclining portrait figure of Pauline Borghese as the victorious Venus. Here, we are reintroduced to his skill in the qualities of classicism as shown in "Theseus with the Dead Minotaur."
Originally a stonemason, he turned to sculpture after moving to Venice in 1768. He was to become the most influential sculptor of the Neoclassical period.
There is Maratti (Carlo Maratta), the leading painter in Rome during the late 17th century, and Fuseli, a Swiss-born painter, draughtsman, and writer on art. who came to Italy where he became enthralled with the works of Michelangelo.
The list of artists represented is lengthy; the visual pleasures found in these splendid illustrations are many. Art In Rome captures much that has previously been given scant attention in the annals of cultural history.

There is a lot of useful information though in one easy reference. However, I don't feel it's worth the price. I just feel cheated by the cost of this book for some reason.
So if you have some extra money or you are too lazy to look on the internet or your local library I would definitely recommend this book.
Basically, since I have the book, I can definitely make good use out of it. Would I buy it again though given a second chance? Definitely not.
More than 80 percent of men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer DO NOT DIE FROM it according to my reading--but in this book more than half of the examples of the men in the women's lives did die! I was looking for people who had gone through what I can expect to go through and instead read A LOT about a minority who suffered horribly ("The last five years have been a whirlwind of anger, fear, uncertainty, indifference, anxiety and depression" from one. "My future was wiped out . . . Loss of income, lonliness, no companion, no best friend, no lover. Long, lonely evenings, days, weekends. . . Widow" as the CONCLUDING words of another.) This was not helpful to me. And the acocunts from survivors were not in-depth enough on the whole, though I did really like seeing all their names and faces--that in itself was reassuring. But there was only a scant paragraph from Bob Dole, for example.
The book is graphically VERY well done but not as informative overall as the prostate cancer books by either Dr. Walsh of Johns Hopkins or Dr. Loo or Cornell. Both of those gave me more facts, understanding and a more realistic understanding. The ABC's of Prostate Cancer seems designed to have people take prostate cancer seriously and get tested--which I'm all for. It is not the best book for those with early disease to read or even more advanced disease in my opinion since the in-depth profiles are not representative of the frequency and ditribution of prostate survivors. There is also not enough on diet and new treatments.
