At the time this book was originally written (1830), the Northwest was the upper Missisippi Valley. I originally read this book because the author had lived among the Native American Indians and knew their culture. This was before the true nature of the European White man had become evident to the Indians and the Indians treated the White man as equals. But, in his introduction, even though he blasts other authors for their shallow representation of the Indian, he automatically assumes the Indians are not as good as White people and treats them as such in the book. Frequently though, the Indian looks more honorable than the White man in the ten stories. Despite the author's bias, a picture of the Indian's culture does come through. A good read for Indian and White culture at the time

I must say that this book takes a thorough approach to its subject matter, though perhaps rather more honest than I was hoping. Anyone looking for steers on how to avoid the heat from the IRS, better look elsewhere.

This book ameliorates any questions that one has for student congress (compition and class) and even basic rhetoric. Compared to other books about secondary education debate, it explains all the points possibly needed to do well. Most other books are rather curt and abhorent in their approach to help novice deabtors. Reading this book will improve your overall performance in student congress and not reading it will severly exacerbate any strategy and overall tactics you may develop.

This book is a valuable component of an overall peer ministry formation program. If there were ever a text to be used in training teenagers for ministry --this is it. It doesn't speak down to our youth and it doesn't aim the message above their heads... it is aimed at empowerment......and it is not overwhelming like a "school-book". Other words that come to mind--- friendly, resourceful.... Any youth group working with peer leaders should have at least one copy on hand --if not one per peer leader.

Joseph Murphy has created a true master piece. In this book you will learn more advanced things on telepsychics. This book is surely worth of your time. It is down to earth, and goes hand in hand with The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. It repeats some things, but repating things is sometimes for good.

Whoever you are, what ever your goals, visions, dreams or life circumstances may be, this book is good for you. I personally think that this book is better than the power of your subconscious mind..

If you have a dream or a goal: Don't listen to people who are trying to tell you something that makes you feel unhappy, or don't know what they are talking about. Listen to Murphy, and what he has to say about creating success.

Murphy tells you some very easy, but yet profound truths on using your subconscious mind and scientific prayer.

This book will be worht of 5 stars if this is your first Murphy book.. if not, then it is only 4.

Grigely is one of those rare artists who can challenge his audience on many levels with unusual clarity. Highly recommended for anyone who has appreciated the work of Avital Ronell or Jacques Derrida.
