"Missile" Blew Me Away!
"Missile" really moves. What I was totally unprepared for and it just blows me away is the interweaving of early explorers of the American continent and their stories with the stories of contemporary explorers out there on the aerospace frontier. I think the way "Missile" portrays modern space personnel as being direct descendants of those earlier explorers is little short of brilliant. "Missile" is both an engrossing tale of two world class aerospace teams competing for the missile project to end all missile projects, and perhaps more significantly is also multiculturally cutting edge.

MISSILE by JOSEPH GROTH
Seldom have I ever been so motivated to read a book a second time. Joseph Groth, with his first novel, has bounded onto the scene with an elegant interlacing of aerospace cliff hanging adventure, thrilling intrigue, on the edge suspense, and truly astonishing historical facts. It is a most readable and compelling page-turning escapade. I lingered over the final words of the epilogue as long as possible before sadly coming to the realization that the adventure had ended. However, there remains a tremendous satisfaction of knowing considerably more about many subjects, including historical American figures and high level aerospace industry contract negotiations. It is difficult to believe that this is a total work of fiction and a product of the author's imagination. It is easy to conclude that the author has an inside track. This book is a must buy for anyone wishing to savor an exceptional reading experience.

Very good book
See the previous review. He/she describes it in a nutshell. Just wanted to chime in that I had read this book and loved it. I discovered this author through another book, which was amazing: A River Seen Right. Highly recommend both books.

Some books stay with you after you have read them.
This one has stayed with me. As a nature-lover and one interested in Native American culture, I walked away from this book feeling I gained something by reading it. It is neither dense nor preachy, so it makes for an easy read. _Mohawk Blood_ is written by a descendent of the great Mohawk leader Joseph Brant, but the focus of the book is not past battles or politics. Rather, almost in a short story form, the author shares some timeless lessons learned from Brant, describes interaction with the natural world in a breathtaking manner, and touches on the socio-economic status of Native families. I could not put this book down.

A classic!
This classic book on the physical chemistry of gases and liquids is showing its 36+ year age, but it is still the book for an all-encompasing survey of the theory of fluids. ...

Hardcore description of how and why molecules move and react

An ideal reference for those intimate with the field of reacting and non-reacting "fluids". This is not a text-book for those faint-of-heart when it comes to mathematics and "techno-babble", but rather a comprehensive treatment of physical properties and interactions that govern gaseous and liquid phase molecules.

"Molecular Theory of Gases and Liquids" is unique in its cross-disciplinary approach to each aspect of molecular phenomena. Chemists, Physicists, and Engineers alike will find its content, the corresponding discussions, and at least one of the various approaches to the derivation of each concept invaluable.

Most disciplines have a text that is casually refered to as its "bible". As a physical chemist studying the interactions of high- temperature reacting fluid flows, (a glorified way of saying combustion), I heartily recommend "Molecular Theory of Gases and Liquids" to that status.

This is THE book on Montana.
If you want to know the story of Montana, this is where you start. It's written by the best journalist-writer who ever lived in the state (excluding Bud Guthrie, of course, who chose fiction instead). It must be understood that it is not a "definitive history" as Howard himself stated, but a personal narrative of what matters. In the past two decades, a cottage industry of Howard-bashing has emerged in Montana, by historians eager to establish their own reputations. Yes, some of what Howard wrote was incorrect. Other aspects of his writings now seem outmoded (the colonial economy thing). But to say modern history proves Joe Howard was wrong is like saying Lewis and Clark are disproven by Rand-McNally. Howard was the visionary who showed the way to what Montana should and could be. But 50 years later, this remains the best non-fiction book that will ever be written about Montana.

Exciting, interesting, well worth reading.
I first read this book back in the early 60's when I was stationed in Montana. I found it full of facts that you don't find in history books. The characters are real and believable; makes you wish you had a time machine to go back and witness the action. A must for history buffs.

Don't Go To Med School Before Reading This Book
A doctor friend of mine gave me this book as I was applying to medical schools. I read it and I'm glad I did. It gave me a very realistic picture of what I could expect during my internship year. I'm now in my fourth year of residency and I can now confirm the accuracy of Dr. Sacco's portrayal of the grueling and frequently demoralizing medical training process in the U.S. This book should be required reading for all medical students.

I laughed, I cried!
Dr. Sacco's gripping and moving story of his intership year provides an unusually frank account of the grueling medical training our physicians must endure. The author's forcful writing coupled with the sometimes humorous, often heartbreaking experiences he shares with us made this book a real page tuner. Speilberg should option this book so we will finally have a movie about medicine the way it's really practiced. I loved it!

Excellent reference to use in nursing school
I'm a first year nursing student and I think that these cards are a great reference, especially for those students first starting out in clinic. Unlike other nursing cards, Mosby's cards contain everything you need to know about the drug you will be administering to your patients. There are 2 formats available: 1)drug by name, 2) drug by classification. Each card has: the brand name, classification, dosage form, use, contraindications, pharmacokinetics, dosages for all types of patients, side effects, drug interactions, and nursing implications, which is very important to know. The format is easy to understand and the data is to the point. The package also contains cards with: a short summarized lesson on "fundamental drug therapy", drug dosage calculations, syringe/IV compatibility chart etc. These cards save you a lot of time from writing your own drug cards. If a drug you need is not in the package, you can get free updates from their website.

Mosby's 2001 Nursing Drug Cards
These are a comprehensive and priceless resource! I'm a last year nursing student in a RN program. I appreciate the time I will save using these drug cards for reference, while I am concentrating on other areas of studying.

Simply Wonderful reading
My daughter is 6 years old and absolutely loved this book. Her grandparents live on a farm and she has heard stories of work horses and she somehow stumbled upon this book on her own at the library. When it was time to return this book, she searched for something similar and found Hurry! also by Jessie Haas and she was so excited. I also loved these books and immediately signed on to amazon.com to see if we could purchase them.

simply wonderful
This is a beautiful picture book, like all of the books in this series about Nora and her Grandparents farm. It shows how draft horses work on the farm and how caring a good farmer is to all the other aninals who live on the farm, be they residents or part of the natural enviroment. A wonderful story, simple and beautiful. The illustrations are true to life and make you feel like your at the farm with Nora.

An MDS monograph written for applied researchers
It is quite hard to find easy-reading reference for MDS. Some are written in Mathematics rather than in English. Others are over comprehensive as an introductory text for laymen. In this regard, I found Kruskal and Wish's "Multidimensional Scaling" to be the most 'user friendly'( only in a relative sense).
In short, this is certainly a monograph with just the right amount of substances for any applied researcher interested in MDS to get started with their work. Fundamental knowledge of statistics is a prerequisite, of course.

Excellent layman's introduction to Multi-Dimensional Scaling
This book is an excellent layman's introduction to the topic of Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS). There is just the right amount of detail to quickly get started in practical use of MDS. Some of the data and projects in this text are used as examples in StatSoft's Statistica software for PC's and Mac's; establishing a much needed connection between a reference text and software that incorporates the mathematics in the topic.

A must for anyone doing advanced level statistics!
A very informative and useful handbook for both practitioners and students. Each section provides a glossary, the statistic's theoretical assumptions, a step-by-step outline, a sample article that uses the statistics, and most importantly, the command code for SPSS and SAS. A must for anyone doing advanced level statistics!
