The Other Side of the Coin
Baby by Dr. Joseph Stirt
This book is a masterpiece. Dr. Stirt gives a wonderful portrayal of a parent with a critically ill child. His heartfelt comments interspersed with the medical record is a marvelous touch that I have never seen before. I only hope that someday he continues his writing career.

The Bible - Demystified and Explained
Our Church, Gethsemane Presbyterian Church, began several small group bible study programs and our Young Adult Bible Study Fellowship Group has decided to use this book as our study guide. The most convincing arguement to select this guide was the fact that our group contained several very knowledgeable people and several individuals that were either new to Christianity or new to our church. We decided that this guide would allow us all to have at least the same foundation to build upon in the future. What is even more exciting is that the more knowledgeable ones are learning a great deal as well. We are all in love with the book and the supplementary instructional guide that goes with the study. This is a must if you plan to lead a bible study group using this book. The "instructor's guide" offers additional information on the topics and suggests further study options. We have been very pleased with this Bible Study Guide.
My knowledge of God's word has been fast-forwarded.
I began the Baby Boomer Bible study with virtually no knowledge of the Bible. The maps, tables, and diagrams included in the book enabled me to quickly gain a grasp of basic Biblical facts. This has fast-forwarded my understanding of God's word. Complicated material became much clearer and easier to learn through the flow charts and other study aids, such as the "Theologically Speaking" areas that help provide an understanding of the theological aspects of The Bible. The Baby Boomer Bible Study has had a profound influence on my life. I am no longer intimidated by the Bible. Something surprising has happened as I study God`s word. He has come into my heart!

The Most Up-to-date Conducting Textbook
Labutta's conducting textbook is the most up-to-date, now in its 4th edition (1999). I highly recomend this book because of the conciseness of the text (it's to the point), the relevancy of the information, and above all, because of the wealth of musical examples to be used in the development of conducting skills. The conciseness of the text encourages students to read it, and at the same time, provides students with all the information needed for the development of the specific skill being discussed. The abundance of musical examples makes this textbook a valuable single-volume reference material to be used by any beginning conducting class.

It is a touching story
I think this is the best book I have read on the history of Nauvoo. It mixes spirituality, politics, and romance all into one. It is great watching how Lovina and Lorin overcome their problems as a couple and find the purest love possible.
Lovina became alive to me!!!
Becky has done an incredible job with this book. I have read it over and over, and I never tire of it. Nauvoo has always beena a special love for me. I have participated in the City of Joseph pagent for years, and I believe that Becky has grasped the very Spirit of Nauvoo and set it gently on paper. Which of us cannot sympathize with Lovina Smith, a beautiful young saint with all the foibles of a girl emerging into womanhood. Who can help but laugh with her, sigh with her, and especially weep with her as she faces the greatest trials of her life in a way that brings strength to us all. If you love The Work and the Glory, The Belle of Nauvoo is a MUST!

The Biochemic Handbook
This is by far the best alternative health book I've ever read. It tells you everything you needed to know about your health but were never told. All those niggling little ailments that we all get yet brush away until something bad goes wrong with our health - it gives symptoms and remedies. I have been consulting it for 23 years to fix up heaps of conditions.
essential reading
Anyone who wants to understand why certain foods, herbs etc. heal all kinds of disease should read this book. It shows what the cell salts are, how they work and why any disease is attributed to a lack of certain cell salts. This is the best book of its kind and is required reading in many alternative health colleges. A tremendous resource for understanding why food, herbal and other therapies work, plus giving a ton of practical information.

"Bible of Biofiltration"....
Is how we refer to this book also. It covers all of the basics, gives tons (tonne?) of useful info in an organized manner with many useful references to get someone started in almost any aspect of biofiltration. well done.
Biofilter Bible
This book has been nicknamed the "Bible of Biofiltration" with due cause. It is an excellent resource for the novice and experienced alike. It is written by three well-respected and experienced leaders in the biofilter field. It contains an excellent review of the fundamental science and the practical design as well as giving numerous examples of applications throughout the world. It is "a must have" for anyone who is in need of an reference book on biofiltration.

An enlightening view of myself.
There are very few books that can truly alter the way one views the world. The Biology of Belief is one of those very few. The author's comment, that the original motivation of the book was to see "why rational minds are capable of believing in myth" and "its capacity to alter our view of reality", took me on my own "journey". An understanding of the extent of brainwashing that exists in our culture was very enlightening. In fact, I can only describe my experience in the following manner: in borrowing the phase "I once was blind but now I see.." I think the book should be require reading at EVERY liberal arts university. The tough part would be supplying the professors to teach it!
Biology of Belief
Throughout this book, Mr. Giovannoli has tried to stay close to the science while giving the reader an intuitive understatnding, often through analogy and metaphor of how scientists and philosophers have reached the current perception of beliefs. Even though he avoids burdensome technical language and equations, because of the radically new concepts invloved, the reader may need to pause now and then, to mull over a section here or ponder an explanation there, in order to follow the progression of ideas fully.
Despite an acceptable "Western" perspective, "The Biology of Belief" does more than just augment the fragments of understanding we have about our belief system..It arranges biological and historical benchmarks into a sometimes thrilling intellectual jaunt that belies Mr. Giovannoli's belief that the whole is much greater than the sum of it's parts. A common evolutionary thread pierces the book and illustrates our dependence on our reptilian ancestors brain functions, and ties it to the world's current dealings with zealots and fundalmentalism. A quantum leap, presented with conviction and compassion.
Never in my years of associated reading, have I been so anxious to read a book for the third time.

We must fight back
Tony offers realistic remedies in which individuals can directly participate. We must understand that the government is interfering with every aspect of our lives! Soon we will have absolutely no freedoms, making us prisoners in our own country! Tony provides real solutions! A must addition to anyones library!
The handbook to freedom.
Tony Lamia is brilliant in his ability to actually understand America's constitution, what it was intended to do, and what has happened to it and therefore our freedoms. Acknowledging that American's enjoy the best system in history, Tony goes on to show how our liberties are being destroyed. The stories in the book are examples of these. Then remedies! The comprehensive nature of this book is amazing.

For anyone whose loved ones must pay the hospital a visit, this book is a must-read account of what strings one father and mother pull to try to save the life of their premature baby daughter. And for those familiar with the medical profession, this story is a humbling awakening to attitudes and practices of the medical profession from the patient's standpoint.
Stirt's flowing style and unfeigned suspense makes Baby impossible to put down. I recommend this book to all readers.
