This is right up there with THE ONION FIELD as a Wambaugh non-fiction book. Very interesting reading about a firefighter who was also a serial arsonist. Got a little long in the court room section of the book but other than that I found it very compeling. Wambaugh is always a great read.

If one owns, collects, or works with firearms one needs to be able to take them apart and put them back together. A surprising large number of handguns, rifles, and shotguns can be found within the covers of this NRA publication. The book includes exploded views which show precisely how parts fit together, and some basic instruction on disassembly/reassembly. Despite the amazing amounts of negative publicity NRA gets in the news media, this is what they do best, provide unquestionable authority on firearms. If you need step by step instructions complete with photos you would be better served by the multi-part Gun Digest series on Firearms Assembly/Disassembly by J.B.Wood. But as outstanding and helpful as those books are, they simply can't cover the sheer number and variety of guns that you will find within the pages of this book from NRA. After all, they've been covering this topic in-depth for a long time. It shows.

This book is aimed more for hatcheries that are raising Trout, Salmon, Catfish and other food fishes. However, there is so much information in this book that even ornamental fish hatcheries will find an incredible amount of useful information. The chapters on Fish Nutrition are especially helpful.

I am an avid fish fanatic. Moyle and Cech have produced what should be the greatest book of scientific interest on the subject. Seems like there is a but there? There is, this is a text book. If you are taking ichthyology, an upper level (sometimes graduate level) course on fishes this book will be your best friend. It is critical to understanding the largest group of vertebrates. It is well organized, fact filled and well cited. But, if you don't have Biology one and two, some chemistry, physiology and an introductory zoology course behind you it will lose you at the introduction. Even though I rate it high I would wait until a professor says you have to buy it.

I am just starting out in the sport of flyfishing, and needed a place to start. This book is an excellent source to find the basics. (I actually caught a fish my first time out!)

I found the writing to be first rate. The illustrations were beautiful, although in some cases the color reproduction could have been better. Readers interested in Balinese art won't find a better book.

Designed for children five and up this is a story about forgiveness. Coleman finds his little sister chewing on his sock and rescues it. His sock friend Sockariah reminds him of the story of Joseph and how he learned to forgive.

This is one in a series of stories. The stories are the result of experiences that the author and his wife have with their own children. The Bible story of Joseph is found in Genesis chpaters 37-47. This book is one of a series in which Coleman learns Bible stories.

Child Sockology uses Bible stories and normal kid-things to teach ideas in a fun way. It's the perfect foundation for a lifetime of learning from the Bible.

I had the honor of meeting the author some years ago in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri where he regaled friends and neighbors with stories of his wartime adventures. I'm glad he was finally able to publish his memoir so many more people can enjoy the exploits of Cajun Joe and his comrades.

This is a very human story. The tales of the incredible bravery and sacrifice of these warriors is mixed with stories of trouble-making and skirt-chasing. This is not a Hollywod-style, idealized adventure, but a true story of young men who served their country under incredibly difficult conditions and who enjoyed life whenever they got the chance.

Be sure to read all the way to the end for the author's very funny tale of his trip stateside after the completion of this missions.

This is a very good book on a complex subject. It's full of interesting and cutting edge perpectives on development economics. However, the book leaves out an important viewpoint, which can be found in The Elusive Quest for Growth by Easterly.
