Not about printing
This is probably a fascinating book if you're interested in how to make a sundial or lay a brick, but it's not the volume that explains printing in c17, if that's what you were looking for.

A Simple Soldier's Tale
Greenhill has done Napoleonic scholars another favor with their publishing of this memoir, particularly since English language texts on the Napoleonic adventure in Egypt are so rare. The author has also appended a number of short biographies to add to ones understanding. Moiret, a junior infantry officer, paints a vivid picture of the campaign, the Levant and Napoleon's army. He shares his observations of the natives, the landscape, senior officers and members of the Egyptian Institute while tossing in the offical bulletins and announcements from the upper echelons. Moiret jots down his impressions of ombat operations, the effects of hunger and disease, the pursuit of a young Moslem lady and the day to day
clashing of East and West. A solid little book recommended for students of this campaign, the French Army and modern Egypt.

This book is filled full of facts, which are very interesting. The book can get tedious to read, but the content itself is great, and actually makes sense :) Concepts are explained clearly.

Eh..., what's up, Doc?
Dr. Grcic, I like your book and I am quite happy to spend my whole Ethical Theory class with it. But there is something I want to comment about: you cite too much things in this book. You should put more of your philsophy instead what other main streams philosophers think, just like the books of other philosophers: they are full of their crap. END

Mosby's 2000 Nursing Drug Cards
As a nursing student required to purchase this set, I found the cards much easier than writing out med cards by hand. On the other hand, I was frustrated to find some meds I needed not included in the set, or the use I was looking for not mentioned. The box is convenient, but the cards are so tightly packed it is difficult to get at them, causing me to divide them between two index file boxes, making it less convenient to carry to clinical settings.

Murder in the Family: The Inside Story of the Jersey Murders
Published in Paperback by Trafalgar Square (January, 1995)
Author: Jeremy Josephs

Menendez Across the Sea
Before Lyle & Erik killed Jose and Kitty Menendez on August 20, 1989, there was the lesser publicized matricide and patricide of Nicholas and Elizabeth Newall by one or both of their adult sons on 10 October 1987. (Why is the date written like that? See below.)

The Newalls went "missing" in Jersey (No, not NEW Jersey, USA, wherefrom Frank Sinatra and Bruce Springstein, - but the British Isle out there in the Channel) after an evening's dining with their sons: Roderick and Mark. There was lots of family money but, per the boys' later wailing a la Menendez, not much love bestowed upon them in their "formative years."

The book starts right out, leaving no room for the reader to wonder who-dunnit. "Another couple of months and it would be five years. Five years since the night he had beaten his parents to death with a Chinese rice-flail, lacerating their skulls and drenching their Jersey bungalow with blood. ..." It jumps back and forth, in fits and starts, in chronology and person, without much in-depth contemplation. One does not come to care for victims or perpetrators, but the author does have us cheering on the Jersey law enforcement.

This is a British "True-Crime" book, published in London. The American reader will need to translate that which, to a Brit, is mundane: "He would get in late from work, hire a couple of videos, buy a Chinese or Indian take-away, that sort of thing. ..." "He was going to help her select some coving for her sitting room." What's that again? George Bernard Shaw said "England and America are two countries divided by a common language." In this event, I have discovered a very helpful resource: "Divided By A Common Language," a witty and fairly comprehensive "British/American Dictionary PLUS" by Christopher Davies.

Myth Conceptions: Joseph Campbell and the New Age

Authors: Thomas Lee Snyder, Tom Snyder, and Bob Passantino
Amazon base price: $14.99

At least it's got a catchy title. . .
This book is written as a refutation of the teachings of Joseph Campbell, a "New Age philosopher." I was at a disadvantage when reading the book, for until this point I had never heard of Joseph Campbell, so frequently I found myself wondering what the author was talking about.

The book talks a lot about popular culture and the New Age influence upon it. It is definitely not "light reading." There's a lot of deep philosophy there. If you're into that type of thing, I'd recommend it.

Probably the thing about the book I found the MOST fascinating, was it's logical proof for the existence of the Trinity. (You'll have to read the book for yourself!) It's something I'd never thought of, but makes perfect sense, and it's Biblical too!
