A visually entertaining book using personification.
My whole family enjoyed this book! The story line is quite funny as some pantaloons are blown off a clothesline and have many adventures while the owner futilely tries to retrieve them from many difficult landings. It is a wonderful book using personification (the pantaloons tell the story in rhyme). The illustrations are superb though and tell a story all their own! We have literally spent long periods of time just looking at the illustrations and seeing all the different things happening in this impossible-to-name Renaissance city. We highly recommend this book!

By the way, I highly disagree that this book be for only "baby-preschool"!!!!! Four years later, I STILL love this book! :-)

This is a great book with Native American stories from all over America. It has many stories and about four sections with about five stories in each section. I have some Native American blood and this book has stories from my ancestors. You should really read this book.

An itinerant gladness scatterer
Ken Feit is the most extraordinary human being I never met. In the late 1980's he visited London, England for one show only. When I hear of this I applied to go but it was too l ate. He had already left and was, I was informed, somewhere in the middle of the Sahara desert. My attempts to find our more about this wise fool have constantly been frustrated by lack of information. Now Joseph Martin has put together a collection of stories, sketches, haiku poems and foolish thoughts as an excellent tribute. From the setting free ice cubes which had been bought at the local garage by floating them on the lake , to allowing his hand to be used as a ' tree' by a spider making his web, Ken challenges our priorities and worldviews. This book beautifully catches Ken's challenge to playful religion, with chapters on such topics as the priest, the fool, the story teller and the mystic. Some sound poems are also included with a brief introduction to this art form along with several performance scripts and dozens of ideas for storytellers of all kinds and ages.

Even with all this stimulating material, perhaps the book is most effective as a doorway into the imagination.- It shows us how to live foolishly in everyday situations. As Ken says,

we fools merely probe playful possibilities, mirror ridiculous realities, and retreat behind our motley, with a twinkle in our eyes. Don't take us ( or yourself) too seriously.

A great collection of the thoughts and acts of one, very unusual, person. I highly recommend it for all trainee fools.

Making It All Real
This book is great for all who are interested in missionary work, but beware that it will all become much to real. Cannon does an excellent job of telling how missionary life can be one of the hardest and most trying positions to hold. But the most important thing he states is that success as a missionary cannot be measured by a worldly scale, but by meansures of our Lord and Master.

Marriage, Fatherhood, Rejection, Protection, & Hope
If you don't think that you can learn most of what you need to know about these topics in a mere 56 pages... think again and get this book. Not only does it tell the untold story of the first Christmas, it tells the story of the author's own fatherhood experience in a genuine and touching way. It simply made me want to be a better husband, father, and follower of the Christ of Christmas.

As Proud As I Could Ever Be
I have not actually gotten a chance to read the book yet, but I hope to soon. My grandfather is the author of this book, and I would just like to say how proud I am of him. He has been working so long at this and it is now published and on the market. He is by far the most intelligent person I know when it comes to our faith. I have looked up to him for many years, and my grandfather has taught me so much. He has had a big hand in helping my dad teach me to be a man, and for that I thank him. I am just so proud.
