Great Book by a true lover of the game!
This book has assisted me in every aspect of the game. Mr. Bartanus is a well versed instructor. I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Bartanus in person. I work at an ID Card office in Germany, and Mr. Bartanus was a customer of mine. He took the time to help me with my swing right in my office. He also came back a few days later to bring me an autographed copy of his book and a large sack of golf balls. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Bartanus, and for this wonderful golf instuction book he wrote.

A "must" for all serious Holocaust Studies reading lists
The collaborative editorial skills of Jack Bemporad, John T. Pawlikowski, and Joseph Sievers has rendered Good And Evil After Auschwitz: Ethical Implications For Today into an essential body of work that is a "must" for all serious Holocaust Studies reading lists and reference collections. The contributing essays are drawn from papers presented at an extraordinary symposium convened at the Vatican in 1998 and represents the view of more than thirty of the world's foremost theology and religious thinkers on the inescapable moral question of how, if at all, believers can reconcile their faith in a just and merciful god with the phenomena of the deliberate mass murder of millions of men, women and children during the Holocaust. Included is an interview with Marek Edelman, the last surviving leader of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and excerpts from the writings of Moshe Flinker, Etty Hillesum, and Dietrich Bonhoffer.

excellent resource for real life
This book is well-written look at what is required to set up a new household from scratch and how people dealt with it once-upon-a-time. Not only is it a detailed account of how it was done, it is also an excellent guide to how you can give your children a head start, a good start, in life through practical, managable means. I strongly recommend this to anyone interested in planning ahead and being prepared. Since this is my primary field of study, I would appreciate feedback on how, if at all, this book is of any help to you. Thanks.

Dr. McConkie elaborately elucidates sybolism!
Latter-day Saint scholar and theologian Joseph Fielding McConkie traces several threads in understaning LDS symbolism--most importantly in the criptures and in the temple. His book is inciteful and authoritative and a MUST for any Latter-day Saint.

A Theological Gem
Cardinal Ratzinger has produced a small and worthwhile book consisting of short lectures and articles presenting his insight into the Catechism of the Catholic Church. In the preface, he notes with satisfaction that the Catechism has been enthusiastically adopted by the Christian public although some establishment academics hold it askance. In this book, he assists those eager to embrace the Catechism with his accessible commentary on various aspects of the Catechism. In my view, the most significant chapter deals with the "biblical realism" of the Catechism which treats the Jesus of the Gospels as the real Jesus, in contrast to the absurd reconstructions of idle professors who peddle their fictions as the so-called "historical Jesus." He also has a chapter on the relation of Judaism and Christianity which is in welcome contrast to the recent defective and mediocre reflection on the issue by a group associated with the U.S. Bishops' conference. We are fortunate to have the quality work of a distinguished theologian like Cardinal Ratzinger when we are deluged by so much mediocrity from academia.

Long Out-of-Print! Gripping Supernatural Tales...
An amazing collection of gothic horror! One of my favorite books, out-of-print for decades is now restored in a complete edition. Le Fanu is a master of horror, much in the style of HP Lovecraft or William Hope Hodgson (check out Gothic Horror 1 & 2 for the best of Hodgson, incl. "The Ghost Pirates").
Everyday happenings grow progressively stranger, with a heavy sense of dread, until events explode in unimaginable freakishness! Wow! A fantasy escape for those who like dark victorian tales of ghosts, goblins, & demons. Enjoy!

'Aloys.- Now continue the same exercise and go through all modes within this octave, just as they follow successively in their natural order. You started with D; thus E, F, G, A and C now follow.
Joseph.- Reveared master, why did you leave out B between A and C? For I know from my learnings in the Literal Arts that B lies between.'

This is challenging reading. I could take only a few pages at a setting. It makes you think. It makes you understand the baser realities of life.
Nasty, but important reading.
