I read this book in one setting. What a fascinating journey Sladen takes you on in this first hand account of a significant moment in history. I've been reading books on the west my entire life and I have to say this is the best single book one could read on the American Southwest. It chronicles the remarkable meeting between General O.O. Howard and the Great Apache leader Cochise. Sladen records Cochise's personality and style in great detail. He gives a vivid portrait of life in an Apache village. He presents Tom Jeffords and Howard as they really were. He describes the incredible county this drama played out in with the sensibility of a true lover of beauty and nature. Sladen's become one of my heros along with Cochise and Edward R. Sweeney who edited this book and wrote a brilliant biography of Cochise.

Gunther and Hawkins do excellent worik in reframing TQM into a human service perspective. Following a comprehensive overview of the principles of TQM the authors present actual cases of human service organizations utilizing TQM. the authors epilogue and guide for implementation are valuable adjuncts for any TQM initiative. This text is must reading for human service managers.

This book is a must-have for mental health workers of adolescents. This easy-to-read text provides background, foundation and substance to issues around deception and malingering in the adolescent population. The text provides information on understanding and classifying malingering and deception, interviewing techniques, psychological tests and approaches, professional, legal and ethical issues and applications for both clinical and forensic settings. The author provides an excellent presentation of the literature, presenting both the pros and cons of various methods for identifying deception and malingering in the adolescent client.

THis is a compelling story written almost in novel form. The history is documented meticulously and represents a herculean effort by the author. This story of rescue on a grand scale is largely unknown and Schindler's efforts pale b comparison. This is a must read for anyone interested in the Holocaust. The author deserves much praise-I would love to hear him speak!

By far the best book on management ever written. I bought the original in about 1975 and after 20 years of use it fell apart so I purchased this new version. If only others would read and comprehend this masterpiece - it would save them millions. All work managers do is either in maintaining performance or improving it and Juran provides provides two universal models that can be used by all. The basic principles of control and improvement without all the jargon. They are as true today as they were in 1966. Read it and you will want to keep it by you always.

This survey of Italy's traditional recipes packs in hundreds of traditional Italian recipes collected from both north and south, reflecting Pasqualina Rio Gregory's personal travels through the country as well as her family heritage. Her favorites comprising Mangia Bene represent the range of Italian dishes, with over sixty color photos of Italy capturing the Italian countryside. It's not the photos which are the standout here, though: it's the recipes, which blend both old styles with new creations speciifc to different regions.

As a transportation engineering technologist, I used to have the old edition of this book, printed in 1976. No other book can beat this one when it comes to engineering studies. I know the value of it.As a matter of fact I want to get a copy of the current edition momentarily.

I picked up this book for my son and I found that I enjoyed as much as he did. It really does give a nice overview of Native Americans and the Illustrations are superb. I think it is a great book for children and adults alike. Not only is it entertaining but it also teaches. If you are looking for a book for a child from 2 to 10 years old this is the one to buy.
