Looking through illusions to better perceive reality
Ralph Strauch's unique background in both mathematics (working as a Senior Mathematician with the Rand corporation) and the Feldenkrais method of body movement, gives THE REALITY ILLUSION a blended perspective of rational thinking and physical intelligence. Strauch suggests exercises to do by yourself and or with a friend to demonstrate the way our physical strength and health are altered as we change the focus of our attention. This book has excellent illustrations throughout, and is an excellent guidebook for examining our forms of perception.

Some of the most controversial issues of spirituality
A Rebel To His Last Breath provides the first biography of one Joseph McCabe, a former Catholic priest who became a champion of free thought and rationalism in the first half of the 20th century. Why chart the life of a man largely forgotten today? Because he tackled some of the most controversial issues of spirituality and social issues of modern times, and his efforts and writings continue to influence.

Rare type revalations during & out of combat
Finally, a revealing look at what goes on, in and out of mortal combat encounters with a cunning and resolute enemy. Very fine coverage of higher awards for courage under fire, but more importantly, for the exposure of awards promised; however, not given, due to crass and mindless officers, staff Nco"s and "in the rear with the gear" paper pushing pogues. The author lets it all hang out [the truth ] and so rightly so, I dare say. It doesn"t take too long into this rare type of text to learn there are Semper Fidelis Marines and then the Semper Fi, Mac marines. Read this tome and you tell me !!.Excellent account subject by a WIA combat Marine.

Redoute stickers book--a very classy gift for all
These stickers are the best (and most affordable) gift to give anyone, particularly Redoute fans. This book is a historical mark of rare beauty, since the book features roses found only in Josephine Bonaparte's garden. I love sticking these flowers everywhere I need a reminder of what style, beauty, and elegance are.

This is the most beautiful book
This is definitely one of the most beautiful books I have ever purchased. The prints are magnificent and they are of framable quality. Each print is done on a single page without printing onto the back side of the page and thus there is no loss if you were to remove one of these prints from the book to frame. I actually ended up purchasing two copies - one for the potentially framable prints and the other as a coffee table book. It is worth every penny to someone looking for the most authentic of botanical prints.

The Plumed Troop
This is a definitive work of the Britains Ltd production after WW II until the cessation of hollow-cast lead soldier production in 1966. Each set is listed and the book is profusely illustrated, and even though the pictures are in black and white it still brings out the magnificence of the castings, the honest, skillful painting, and recalls the joy of seeing these intricate models in their sets and red boxes under the Christmas tree.

If you collect Britains as I do you will find this book immensely helpful in catalogueing your collection and it also gives you the needed information on what to look for at shows, on ebay, or wherever else you choose to look.

This volume only covers the lead production, not the plastic. For that you need to go elsewhere. Opie's The Great Book of Britains is the best place to start in my opinion for the entire production range from 1893-1993.

Wallis' book, however, is smaller and a paperback, which makes it much handier and it is a ready reference for collecting. I have found it, and its companion volume, Armies of the World, to be indispensable for research, catalogueing, and for just reading up on the sets, the types of figures, band instruments, makeup and composition of sets, and the production dates of the sets. If you are a Britains addict, I mean collector, this book is a definite must have.

The Rehabilitation of Myth : Vico's 'New Science'
Published in Hardcover by Cambridge University Press (November, 1992)
Author: Joseph Mali

Review of Mali's "Rehabilitation of Myth"
Anyone interested in having a first rate introduction to the work of Giambattista Vico should start with this book. Vico has become a cult figure among those who promulgate a contructivist/contextualist epistemology/ontology. The problem: Reading Vico in the original can be a daunting task. Mali's book offers clarity and context to Vico's work -- The New Science. Mali offers a sound interepretation of Vico in that he understands constructivism and he can place Vico's work in the context of the intellectual activity surrounding the European Enlightenment. Additionally, Mali can insert relevant quotations from Vico at precisely the right place in his text. I regret that I did not find this book when it was first published in 1992
