Good investment!
This book will surprise you! It has a brief review in the beginning of each chapter of the relevant physiology, and the rest of the chapter illustrates how the drug affects the "pristine order" of the principles described previously, so there`s a line of thinking that is followed from beginning to end, starting in the basic physiology and ending in the adverse effects and drug interactions. There is not too much information printed, which makes the book ideal to learn quickly and effectively, nothing like Katzung, where you take a whole afternoon to read a chapter. There are some beautifully conceived schemes and graphics that help a lot in understanding this part of medical science. The only bad thing for a European reader like me is that it is adjusted to the american reality .

IT IS LIKE A PHARMACOLGY PROFESSOR IN YOUR HANDS 24/7
This book is written by a medical college professor, for medical students, and review is usually used for USMLE, but when I saw the book, This is excellent book for students in pharmacy proffession too, because the author of this book is a Pharmacist first and then a Medical college professor, so this is a book for every medical profession student and teachers. This book is an excellent way to prepare for the NAPLEX exam. It is comprehensive, well written, and worth every penny. I atteneded a live teaching course presented by the author in OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE and it was also EXCELLENT. I learned more in that course than I learned in 5 years of pharmacy school.

Great book for getting started
When I wanted to make a career change, this book was my primer on the basics of CNC programming and machining. It helped me to quickly pick up the essentials of this manufacturing process. I recommend it to anyone who wishes to get a foundation or refresher course in the basics, such as understanding shop math, G code programming, tooling, set-ups, speeds and feeds etc. These are the necessary building blocks for success in this field.

The best illustrated CNC text on the market
This book is probably one of the best Tech texts that I have yet seen. It covers a wide range of topics and keeps the reader interested with very good photograps and 3D drawings. There are several chapters for beginners to deal with shop trigonometry, metalworking data, blueprint reading, as well as a nice overview of CNC Mill and Lathe programming.
If Peter Smid's book is the best reference on the topic of CNC Programming, this book certainly is a close second for value. This book's contents are not as advanced as Mr. Smid's work, but it is more than adequate for most students in college, university, and apprentices wishing to learn the trade.

Good job!

Review from the Publisher
This may be the greatest Catholic spiritual guide for lay people ever written. First published in 1609, its message is still entirely fresh and apropos today, and this popular abridgement which only deletes some extra language and multiple examples, renders it more powerful still. This great Doctor of the Church walks the beginner through several important decisions which lead to choosing the devout life. He then explains all the purifications we must go through and the rejection of mortal and venial sin. Finally he shows us how we are to fulfill our religious obligations and how we are to conduct ourselves in the world as devout Catholics. Covers prayer, how to meditate, Confession, frequent Communion, recreation, dancing, dress, poverty (both actual and spiritual), chastity, obedience, humility, slander, rash judgement, good and evil friendships, etc. Includes special instructions for husbands and wives on marriage. Great Catholic wisdom and one of the Church's best-loved spiritual classics!

Introduction to the Devout Life : A Popular Abridgment
This book by St Francis De Sales is very readable and inspiring for anyone wanting to be a lover of God. Written in the 1600's it is as relevant today as then. Aimed not at Religious or Priests but at Lay men and women it explains how to build your faith and prayer life. The abridgement enables today's reader to clearly follow the teachings of this French Bishop. Excellent reading.

Worked for me
I went to the library to screen for authors and bought this book along with some others. I work in the Chemical Process Industries
and found it gave me tips on how to apply the standard in my situation. It seemed like the reasonably lengthed prose had depth. Reading the whole thing tipped us off to weakeness that sure-n-nuff the audit pointed out. It the books I've handed to my employees.

ISO 9001:2000 Explained
Quality managers, people considering implementing a Quality Management System and those who simply want to learn what ISO is and what it means, will find this book invaluable. It contains the newly adopted ISO 9001:2000 standard text and clear explanations of the requirements of each clause in practical terms. The authors provide examples of the application of the clauses for manufacturing, hardware, software and service organizations. They also clarify where additional requirements have been added or requirements deleted.

The audit checklists that follow the explanation of each clause will be useful to everyone: to those implementing a new system and to those with a system certified to the 1994 standard who may want to get a quick read of what they will need to do to transition to the 2000 standard.

Excellent manual for novice and experienced salespeople
Joe Sowerby has culled from years of experience in at least two professions and numerous other expert's in the sales field to provide a valuable resource for the novice and the experienced professional. I am in the real estate finance field and agree with everything Joe presents in "It's Your Deal." His breezy style is easy and fast to read and I found it an excellent refresher course in what it takes to be a sucessful salesperson in any line of sales.

Street smart saleman speaks from Heart about success.
Very successful sales people know it can be simple things which trigger riches. This book can be all you need. I especially enjoyed discussions regarding consistent persistence, follow-up and wholeheartedly agree with need to just "ask for the order". This book offers little foo-foo and lots of practical advice.

Italian Family Cooking: Unlocking a Treasury of Recipes and Stories

REAL Italian cooking here
The Orsini's have captured the reality of Italian cooking that few others can master.

What some of the more glamorous books on the market neglect to impress upon their readers is the purpose of good cooking, be that Italian or otherwise. Such purpose is the pride that can only come from serving others. And who could know that better than Father Orsini?

That is shown with the style of this book's writing alone. The writing and detail of process show what purpose great cooking can give others.

There is a bit of a renaissance in Italian culture of late, and especially in its cooking. (Although it has never left us in order to be _reborn_!) Too many authors seem to be observers of the craft, and they present what they have seen in such a way that one could duplicate such efforts. But what most professional cooks and authors fail to observe and document is the mood - the feel, of great cultural cooking. And that mood is family, whether they be blood relatives or close friends. Italian cooking is about showing love to friends and family. And the Orsini's know this.

Bring real Italian cooking into the American kitchen
Father Joseph Orsini brings the true flavor of traditional Italian cooking into the American kitchen with this work. This book is unquestionably for anyone and everyone, especially those who think Italian dining means just spaghetti and meatballs. And don't believe that the recipes contained herein are difficult to duplicate. He even gives low fat alternatives for those who are cautious of their fat intake (without sacrificing flavor, I might add). This book would be a bargain at twice the price.

PURE DELIGHT!
Italian Stories is a must read for anyone with the experience or the curiousity of living with stereotypes. Papaleo has very eloquently presented the challenges and issues Italian-Americans have faced for so long. It is a pure delight to read these extraordinarily well written stories which leave you wanting more when you are finished. Let's hope there is more to follow from him!

Italian Stories
Joe Papaleo's voice is loud and clear. The struggling ethnic attempting to dispel the mafia image. At a time when the Soprano's has replaced the Godfather, the italo-americans need this reality. We are not all connected, spaghetti eating, greasy monkeys. Papaleo tells it like it is. He is articulate and breathes a breath of fresh air into the otherwise cigar smoking, garlic breath of the italo-american.

Utterly wonderful and so informative
Because we are in the process of designing and building a Zen Danish (as we call it) new home I purchased this wonderful book in order to get some specific ideas. Of special interest are the Danish and Japanese choices in light hardwood floors, tatami mat floor coverings and window coverings like shoji screens which can be opened for full light during the day and closed for more privacy.

And the book does an excellent job in showing the value in smaller appliances like dishwashers for small families and the front loading or combo washer-dryer units which also take up less space and use less water. And the beautifully designed skylights.

The photography is wonderful and there are so many, along with informative texts on why certain elements work well, and what the future holds for design. The homes are so open and airy that they can be smaller and more environmentally friendly, and better than what I call the average American tract home that has so much wasted space.

I also like the whole sections on furniture and how the outside garden areas when designed well, become rooms that make the interior of the home look bigger as well. There is so much to be said about the way the Japanese blend style, high tech and spiritual into their home design.

If you are seriously interested in ideas for that one of a kind, high quality home that doesn't have to break the bank then this book may be of great value to you. It is not a book for the person who likes "average."

A GOOD STORY OF JAPANESE HOUSE
This book is very interesting for the people who want to know the evolution of house style after II world war:
The evolution of styles from american style to tecnological style.

JNCIA: Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate Study G
This is a great book! It will not give you the test questions and answers for the test. What it will provide is a great source of information relating to routing and an introduction to Juniper's routers. The depth of information in Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate Study Guide is sufficient to pass the test. The questions in the book and on the CD require the same level of understanding as the actual JNCIA exam. In fact I scored the same on the bonus exams (located on the CD) as I did on the actual test. I have been working with Cisco equipment for over eight year and with Juniper routers for a little over a year. I have my CCNP and CCDP. With my background, this book and three weeks, now I have my JNCIA certification. Don't take the JNCIA certification test lightly. I would rate it at the same level as the CCNP and CCDP. With this book and some time you should be able to pass the exam.

JNCIA - An overview
I'm gearing up for the JNCIA/S exams, so have just bought the JNCIA book.
In addition, I have the Complete reference too.

As a history thing, I haven't been that impressed with Sybex revision books - mainly from a Cisco perspective.
This book however seems to be a step away from the norm - which is quite refreshing.

A CD is included (like all the similar Cisco Press books for CCNA/CCDA/CCNP/CCDP).
You get flash cards, 100's of exam questions, study guides, a palm/pocketPC revision app & the bonus of a pdf covering the entire book (aka Cisco) !

At the front of the book is a detachable pull-out study guide which recommends reading certain chapters for different parts of the exam.
When quizzed, the author certainly wasnt denying the fact that it could almost be a hint at what you will be tested on.

Book is split into sections (naturally) which run through the following;

Chapter 1: The Components of a Juniper Networks Router
Chapter 2: Interfaces
Chapter 3: Protocol-Independent Routing
Chapter 4: Routing Policy
Chapter 5: The Routing Information Protocol (RIP)
Chapter 6: Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
Chapter 7: Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS)
Chapter 8: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
Chapter 9: Multicast
Chapter 10: Firewall Filters
Chapter 11: Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)

Differences between the JNCIA and the Complete ref are;

JNCIA has multicast.
JNCIA has CD.
Complete ref has a lot more about the 'boxes'.
Complete ref has intro to VPN (but not much).
Complete ref is a lot heavier.
Complete ref has more configuration examples.

If you're thinking of revising (and if you haven't got the complete ref) then this is the book to go for.
Combine this with Routing TCP/IP, a glance through the most excellent Juniper tech pdf's, hands-on the box and the Boson software exam guides ..... you should breeze through..

On the whole I am impressed with the book.
Its straight to the point, tells you what you need to learn to pass the exam, splits it into attainable sections then tests your knowledge on what you've learnt.
