best yet
I wrote the previous review. I want to make sure that people are aware they need the tapes to this book which covers all the chapters. If you have a person that speaks this dialect then you probably will not need the tapes.
What makes this a good book is it covers the same sentences when spoken to a man, woman, group, and third person.
1.It introduces each word separetly with its meaning before adding it to a sentence.
2. It covers grammer but not to the point you get sick.
3. It has exercises at the end of each chapter to test your knowledge.
4. Each chapter is only several pages and cover situations, example shopping.
5. Each lesson builds on the previous and makes sure to keep words that were learned continue to be used or reviewed.
6. The book contains 30 lessons and an arabic-english, english -arabic dictionary at the end of most of the words covered in the book.
The bad
1. If this course is bought throuh Amazon the tapes do not come with it and must be purchased seperatly.
2. I bought the entire course through Audio forum for 185$ which includes the 8 tapes. I know its expensive but I have not seen any eastern arabic course compare to it. ( not yet)

Great book
If you want to learn Eastern Arabic, This is the book!

I'm so please someone finally wrote this book!
Finally, a book on Ayurveda that's firmly and delightfully grounded in history, theory, and practice. Dr. Ninivaggi's book is a fascinating and satisfying read and one of the few books on Ayurveda I've found that has really helped me to study the subject in depth. This is the book for all who want more than a sprinkling of fun facts and a few home remedies. I'd recommend this especially to those who have a background in science and Western medicine, but no-one who tries it will be disappointed.

Well written, concise, wonderful!
Ayurveda is a difficult subject at best. It has not recieved nearly as much attention as other Complementary Medical systems like TCM. So when a book comes along that is concise, thought-provoking, and well...exciting, on the subject it is certainly worth noting. An Elementary Textbook of Ayurveda is such a book! This is THE book on Ayurveda that I will recommend to all interested in this incredably healing Modality, and Dr. Ninivaggi deserves a lot of credit for putting out a work that is so easy to read, and yet has such a depth of information and insight. I have found myself consulting it again, and again. And each time I find in its pages some new way of thinking about Ayurveda. If you are a lay person with an interest in Ayurveda for yourself or your family, I recommend An Elementary Textbook of Ayurveda. It is easy to read, and yet thorough and informative. If you are a Practioner, either as a MD interested in Ayurveda, or a Practioner of a Complementary Modality interested in incorporating Ayurveda into your practice, I still highly recommend this book, because Dr. Ninivaggi will give you new insights into Ayurveda that it would be hard to find anywhere else. Keep this book in your office or practice space, share it with with your patients or clients. An Elementary Textbook of Ayurveda is that good!

Elements of Quantum Theory
Published in Hardcover by Addison-Wesley Publishing (June, 1978)
Author: Frank J. Bockhoff
Amazon base price: $43.45
Used price: $7.67
Average review score:

Best small-volume "introduction" to wave mechanics!
Frank Bockhoff's Elements of Quantum Theory is the best small-volume "introduction" to wave mechanics for chemists (all scientists?) that I know of.

Some of its outstanding features are: answers to problems (a proven pedagogical device for the novice); a pointing out that Schroedinger's wave equation contains a first time derivative (and is therefore of the same form as the diffusion equation),whereas the classical wave equation contains a second time derivative, yet the latter served as the model for the former; an uncommonly detailed treatment of He; an excellent illustration and description of Euler's relation; the list goes on...

Oh, and a very illuminating discussion of the connections among linear operators, the Hamiltonian, psi and eigenvalue problems.

Most of the typical introductory topics are covered, but in atypical detail. Thank you for shedding light without mere wave-aways, and preventing a well-known physical principle from destructively interfering with learning! Hello group theory, spectroscopy, Heisenberg and Dirac mechanics!

A reprinting, please? Or maybe a third edition? Dover?

Wonder why more people don't refer to this book!
Very simple treatment of the quantum theory. Can be read like a novel

Understanding and confirming God's call on your life.
Dr. Sumrall makes the case that all Christians are called of God to preach the Good News. Not every person will rise to the acclaim of Dr. Sumrall, Billy Graham, or Dwight Moody, but each of us is responsible for our share of the Kingdom harvest.

Has God called you to be an evangelist, prophet, preacher or teacher? Maybe not on a vocational level, but if He has, you must read this book. Every graduating Bible School student should be required to read this eye opening resource!

Do you think once you settle into your first pastorate that things will be smooth sailing? Not according to Dr. Sumrall's experience. The book shows how you will be continually challenged as you stay obedient to the call of God.

Get ready. This book may shake your perspective on the pastoral ministry.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
DR. SUMRALL HAS ALLWAYS BEEN A STRAIGHTFORWARD TEACHER AND GREAT MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL. THIS BOOK IS ONE WAY FOR HIM TO ALLOW A PERSON TO MAKE A DEFINITE CHOICE IN HIS OR HER SERVICE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.ONLY A GREAT MAN AS DR. SUMRALL CAN SHOW HIS OWN LEARNING EXPERIENCES AND SHORTCOMINGS TO FURTHER ENCOURAGE SOMEONE ELSE TO TAKE UP THE STANDARD AND NOT BE AFRAID OF SETBACKS,AND MISTAKES ON THE ROAD TO BECOMING WHAT GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO DO.IF I HAD ANY DOUBTS AT ALL, THIS BOOK HAS SERVED TO ERASE THEM. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHERE YOU STAND,I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.

Encounter with the spiritual world
There are many books that would let you know about the spiritual world in a peaceful manner. This one master the reader to think about a spiritual world that is in the middle of a war. The way the author manage theological aspects of the life and how spiritual wars on the air affects the human world, is awesome. It is not a book to be afraid, but to enjoy it. Compare it as a story that is happening somewhere, but that somehow it could happens to you. Also, the novel point out the church responsiblity of pray for the problems. The church of our times is sleeping while the world is having the worst time ever. We should wake up, and at least, pray for our nation. Read it, I encourage you to do so, you will not be disappointed! And let me tell you that the price is better than ever.

If you love Abstract Expressionism, Get It
I love this art style and so heartily appreciated Vicente's exquisite paintings. He veers in the direction of colors I prefer as well, using purples, violets and reds generously. I know I've bemoaned art books which aren't laid out well but this is not one of them. If all art books were published with this care and attention, I would never complain about layout again, in fact! Elizabeth Frank, the writer, does her usual exemplary job but, as usual, I was into it far more for just looking at the art work. If you hate abstract expressionism and/or the cover of the book, go no further. The cover is very representative of his overall style and color preferences.

Lovely to look at, delightful to read!
This is a wonderful, well written, interesting story of this first generation New York School painter's life and art. The illustrations are glorious and the writing is poetic. A perfect addition to any library and an ideal gift for any art lover!

A Great American Novel.
This is one of the greatest books I have ever read. I just could not put it down. It reminded me of "Catcher In The Rye" however I thought it was even better. It was exciting, sad, funny,it had everything. With all the great reviews I have seen on this book, I can't imagine that I have not heard about this character or this author. This character, I believe, will join all the other great American characters in literature.

This is one of the greatest books I've ever read.
This is an American tragedy. It is truly one of the greatest books I've ever read. The writing is so rich and so funny, it reminds one of "Catcher In The Rye" only I feel it is even better. The whole time I kept wondering if a movie is going to be made about this, because I believe this character, Darrel Skaitts, will be remembered with all the great characters in literature. It was one of the great reading pleasures of my life...

Everybody's All-American
Published in Paperback by New American Library (December, 1988)
Author: Frank Deford
Amazon base price: $24.50
Average review score:

A study of the superstar athlete
If you read this book, you'll better understand why athletes are revered in our culture. You'll better understand why some hang on to their careers well past their prime, and why some can never accomplish anything that matches their on-field glory.

The book's funny, too, as well as touching and poignant. It's a really good read. One of my favorites--and one I think of every time I see an athlete that can't leave the game.

The best novel ever written about college football.
This is a novel that I read every other year or so just before the start of the college football season. It is a story of a mythical player at North Carolina in the late 50's that is "everybody's all-american" and the impact that the game has on his life as well as those around him. It is written with wit and style from the perspective of a character that is our hero's adoring nephew. There are some great comparisons drawn between our hero and another young hero of an earlier time, J.E.B. Stewart, and the impact that their greatness had on their lives. The author also shows a social conscience in his treatment of the subject of race relations in the 50's American South. Deford is a superb writer and if you love college football this is a must read.

Authors: James F. Willis, Martin L. Primack, and Frank Plotnik
Amazon base price: $37.50

Wonderful Text, Brilliant Writing
I needed a text to teach an economics class with and searched for weeks with little satisfaction. Then I ran across this under utilized text. The writing is "brilliant" and the authors, especially Mr. Myers seem to have a very firm and realistic grasp of the essential concepts of "Economics"

Outstanding Economics Narrative
This is an outstanding economics textbook. Can be used as a quick primer on what the basics of the field are all about. I believe that the author of this book is a truly remarkable and extraordinary individual and everyone should listen to him closely.

The Best!
EBC is hands down the best Bible Commentary on the market. EBC is written by conservative scholars (who actually believe the Bible).

I've read a lot of Bible Commentaries, and NONE compare with this one. EBC goes verse by verse, and give you amazing exegetical insight that lets you see the passage much more illuminated than before. Not only do they give you their scholarly opinion, they are also kind enough to give you ALL the popular opposing view points of how other scholars interpret a given passage (even if they don't agree, they at least inform the reader of the other ways the verse has been interpreted).

If you're a student of the Bible, this is the #1 resource I would recommend you getting. When you compare this to commentaries by J vernon mcgee or barclay (and a TON of others), you will laugh at how much useless babble they give you compared to the depth of insight given by the EBC writers.

I've learned way more from the EBC commentary than all others commmentaries combined.

My advice, get EBC first, they give you EXCELLENT info, and they give you what's most important exegeticly, hermenuticly, theologicly, and text-critical etc. etc. They cut to the chase, so to speak.

If you still want more info on a certain book after reading EBC, hats off to you! You are a SERIOUS SEMINARY TYPE Bible student. But to buy some of these more expensive, more comprehensive commentaries before reading EBC would in my opinion be a foolish way to spend your money.

Anything less than EBC is a waste, anything more than EBC is for the WAY SERIOUS Seminary type Bible student.

EBC is exteremly readable, they explain the greek in very understanable terms. Cant say enough about the success of this Commentary Series!

Amazing resource for study
The Expositor's Bible Commentary is an amazing resource for studying the Bible whether it is for private study or for sermon preparation. It uses the NIV translation of the Bible and is extremely readable. These books provide excellent background and are written from a conservative point of view. The commentary follows the text in a systematic manner and makes reference quick and easy. In my opinion, this is the best commentary set on the market and as a seminary student I have seen alot!
