Frank Bougin's " The Great Challenge" is truly a myth shattering book. Bougin documents the active role forseen for the national government not just by it's major proponent Alexander Hamilton, but by Thomas Jefferson, and his Treasury Secratary Albert Gallatin. Jefferson's support for a national program for roads and a national transportation system are amply documented. Also Bougin digs up Jefferson's long lost plans for a national university and federal support for education. He shows how Gallatin and Jefferson paid down the national debt and recommended to Congress a plan to apply the surplus revenues to education, roads, and canals. Bougin also reviews the forward thinking plans of Albert Gallatin and John Q. Adams in expanding the role of the federal government. Overall a great buy.

Although the book is illustrated and directed as an educational book for kids. The research and detail on the book gave me different insights to the first official automobile race in the United States. I have been doing research on early automobile races and this book gave me a broader knowledge of that first contest in 1895.

I was lucky enough to study with one of Mme. Marcus former students (a graduate of Julliard and a Carniege Hall Almuni), and the book really helped to capture a side of her I had only heard about. Plus, the interviews are wonderful!! Very insightful!

If you are a fan of oldtime radio you need this book in your collection. It is an update on Harmon's 1967 book of the same title and is indeed a far superior volume as I have both. From The Shadow to The Lone Ranger most of our old favorites are in there along with photos and inside details that will fascinate you. The price is a bit steep but well worth it. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased this for my mother and she loves it. The book is a nice combination of facts/trivia, growing tips and recipes, plus the illustrations are stunning. The unusual size of the book (tall and narrow) adds to the fun and enhances the illustrations.

The author has done an outstanding job of explaining an amazing investment technique for the commodity futures markets.

If you're a trader, you need this book! You'll actually learn how to make money in the markets!

The book offers finding stability in a storm of emotions. This is also a necessary book for the library of all health professionals.

This is a great new series even if it's for little kids. I just wanted to check it out and it's really good. I've read # 1-6. In this one, Frank Hardy is 9, his brother Joe is 8, and they're the new kids on the block in Bayport. They're looking for new friends, and they've found one-Chet Morton. But they're also finding plenty of mystery, fun, and adventure. A bully threw Chet's baseball mitt into a spooky old house, but all Chet sees inside are two glowing red eyes! Is it a ghost?
