Magical and lovely.
I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this unusual book and highly recommend it.

One-of-a-kind!
What an unusual book! I thought it was a travel book, and since I love anything about Mexico, I picked it up. But it's MUCH MORE than the usual travel journal... so personal and intimate, also funny and insightful. If you're going to Mexico, take along this book. Or stay home and take the trip from the comfort of your own couch. (I doubt anyone else would ever have a honeymoon like they did, anyway. Pretty fun, doing it vicariously!)

Amazing book!
This is a completely magnificent book. Get it! Give it to your loved ones! Totally brilliant, romantic, a fun and enlightening read. The art is also waaaaaay cool.

Wonderful abridged story
Much more than a coloring book, this is a wonderfully abridged edition of The Wizard of Oz with the terrific original illustrations. Great for reading aloud to younger kids. And I enjoy coloring the picture myself. I also recommend the Alice in Wonderland coloring book by the same publisher - my three-year-old will sit and listen to all 40-plus pages! An excellent product at a great price.

The perfect color book for the true Oz aficionado
Granted, the drawings W. W. Denslow did for the first editions of L. Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," are not as famous as what John Tenniel did for "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," but these are a lot more fun to color. The illustrations alone would have been enough to justify picking up this reasonably priced coloring book, but there is an abridged version of Baum's story as well. This is good because for those who grew up on the classical movie and never got around to reading the original story (and how many hands would you need to count those who did not grow up that way?), the differences can be rather startling. The story is especially adapted for young readers, with large type, and the pictures can be colored in which crayons, colored pencils, or even, I suppose, markers. My advice, however, would be to pick up a couple of these because it is not nice to give a child a present like this and then fight with them over it so that you can color in the Cowardly Lion yourself. "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Coloring Book" is just such a neat idea. Hopefully they can do this for the other dozen Oz books that Baum wrote.

HOW FUN!
I spent my whole spring break coloring the pretty pictures, and my mommy ended up throwing the book away, but its cool, because I am gonna get another one!

Easy to read but still has all the info
The way the books of this series work is that they took a guide for new rangers in Yosemite with the 100 or so most frequently asked questions, and wrote their own answers for each park. So in each book the questions are very similar but the answers might be very different.

It's a great format because it makes for easy reading beforehand, but it's also quick as a reference when you're there because they're arranged in an intelligent order. There's also a huge reference section at the end with lists, copies of permit forms, and so forth. So the thing to do is read the FAQ before you leave but bring the book and refer to it once you're there.

I've only been to Yellowstone once and had no idea where to stay, or which hotels were near which sites and so forth. This book really cleared it up for me and we had a great time.

The only yellowstone book you'll need
Don't let the cover fool you. This book is great. Lots of details. Great recommendations on hotels to stay outside the park when the inside ones are book. My niece and I had a blast reading it as we went. We even ran into a bear jam, you'll have to read the book to find out what that is all about. If your looking for a book to simplfy your life and make this trip the best. Buy it! Don't let the cartoons fool you this book has all the details in great form for all. Buy it before you leave so you know where your going. THE BEST, ENJOY.

A must for first time visitors
This book helped me plan the trip, and served as a great guide once we arrived in Yellowstone.

It's a really big FAQ
The way the books of this series work is that they took a guide for new rangers in Yosemite with the 100 or so most frequently asked questions, and wrote their own answers for each park. I've been to Yosemite four or five times since I've purchased this book, and still find it useful. Partially this is because if you go in different seasons there are different things to see, and sometimes you just want a pizza and that's in there too (Camp Curry has good pizza, if anybody's curious).

Don't go to Yosemite without Bruinhilda!
I already had a couple of trips to Yosemite under my belt before buying this book in anticipation of a third, but I still found it very useful. Much of the information you will want at hand before and during your trip is conveniently compiled in this book, and it is presented in a charming and amusing way. (Bruinhilda, your host, is a cartoon bear.) History, hiking, flora, fauna, lodging, feeding, even five pages of telephone numbers you may need, are all there. The price of this book will be a pittance compared to the total cost of your trip to Yosemite, and it will help you to get the most out of your visit. I particularly recommend this book to people who aren't planning a trip to Yosemite-maybe it will encourage you to go (and to respect and care for the park when you do)!

A FUN AND HUMOROUS WAY TO LOOK AT YOSEMITE CAMPING AND ITS T
This is THE A-Z Yosemite guild, with info ranging from how long it takes to get there to what restaurants will best suit your needs and not to say, your price bracket. This guide will interest the most unenthusiastic of readers. It gives you a very lighthearted look at camping (the way it was intended to be) and detailed insider information of Yosemite with a side of humor narriated by an animated bear. The animation makes it all the more enjoyable, as it pokes fun of the stereotypical tourist and his civilized quirks. The guide uses a helpful Q&A format. It also provides an informative hiking graph of strenuosity and milage along with a graph of campgrounds and their amenities. I consider it the Yosemite bible of sorts and a must have for first time visitors!

111 Things Every Woman Must Know About Men

We are ALL in there
I think every man as well as woman should read this book if for no other reason than to just know why we men are the way we are, and why the women we love react the way they do. Personally, I found myself in there at LEAST 20 times

Men Beware - Your Secrets Are Revealed
I read this book not once, but several times. I laughed and learned. I've since purchased several to use as gifts so that my female friends can get the low down on their men. This insightful little book is humorous, but informative. At last, an entertaining way to learn about the mysterious male. Mr. Smoot knows his subject, obviously, since he is male. However, he is also a psychologist who has dealt with relationships. This gives credibility to his witty sayings that are succinct and right on. Forewarned is forearmed. Thank you, Mr. Smoot.

A Candid Look at Love and Life From the Man's Side!!!
I found this book to full of surprises that causes you (either a man or woman) to think more closely at how men behave in different relationship situations. There's plenty of humor, play on words, comments on cultural conditioning and real wisdom in an attractive "gift book" package. I'd recommend it for fun reading, as a gift for a friend, and as a lively conversation starter.

Thanks, coach!
Each of the contributors to this book offers encouragement and useful tips for any real estate pro. It isn't just for beginners.

I've read several real estate sales "how-to" books. This is the one I sent to a broker friend to share with her team. And not just because the price is amazingly low! It's solid stuff.

Great book for general business too, not just Real Estate
I would have to agree that this is a great no-nonsense book for anyone interested or involved in Real Estate to any degree. I would go further and recommend it for anyone interested in business in general. It has lots of useful and truthful information and you don't have to specifically be in the field of Real Estate to benefit from it. This book will let you know if Real Estate is for you, or that it is not for you. It will tell you what you can expect and what you will need to pay attention to in order to be successful.

Even if you are just a curious outsider, you will gleen some insight into the realities that Realtors and business people in general face. It's a book that is easy to read, formatted well, priced right and even entertaining. Equally beneficial for Realtors already in the busines, those studying for their license, people wanting to buy or sell a home, or lost unemployed souls like me who don't know what the heck to do to make money.

Outstanding, and brutally honest
I am a liccensed CA Real Estate Broker. I ordered the book after I had read a positive review about the book from newspaper real estate columnist/investor/attorney, Robert Bruss. Bruss has never steered me wrong, and I highly respect his opinions.
This book is the MOST straightforward, no BS, book I have read yet about any aspect of the business. I tip my hat to the author, who himself is a real estate columnist, for digging up the information... The truths are universal in this business (which is scary/weird), but I feel that anyone who is starting out in this business MUST read this book so you know what to expect, as I cannot think of any other business that chews up and spits out people so quickly. I imagine some will buy it looking for a way to riches, which this book is NOT about. It is about understanding how the business really works and what to expect, thereby giving one an edge against any disappointment and discouragement a "green" agent will surely feel in the first 18 months of this business. The dropout rate is high, and I think the author offers much encouragement. There has been so much stuff written about selling real estate, and all the "pump up" stuff to keep one motivated, but this book is not about that at all. This book would make an excellent gift to anyone who just passed their Real Estate test and is willing to take the plunge into a business where, quite frankly, every day that you wake up, you are seeking work! After reading it, you won't feel so distraught at the bumpy road which lies ahead.
I'm sure even seasoned vets of the business would appreciate it, and may find themselves chuckling to themselves as they are reminded of the many hard lessons that were learned -and there will be many- as the book points out, or perhaps I should say, the book says "Look Out!"
I read it in one evening, as it entertains the reader as well. Well done, Mr. Cook, and thank you for approaching a subject that I think few have touched upon. Your organization of the subject matter seems well thought out.
The one underlying theme which he displays in various interviews with Realtors is one must certainly rely on hard work, rather than luck (we all know the stories about stepping out for a $4.95 sandwich, only to lose a $20,000 commission to the one agent who answered the phone), to make it. Plus, thank you for mentioning that this is a misunderstood profession, in the eyes of the public, and calling upon all agents to act professionally, and putting the client's needs before our own.
Buy it, read it, and good luck to all the new agents out there. Office managers: make this required reading for new agents and you'll save yourself a lot of hand holdiing...

Frank Lloyd Wright Fan!
This book is absolutely outstanding. The book involves in depth RESEARCH on the G-W House. It is written in University research style, which is lacking in today's typical architectural items. I have read the book 5 times. Every time I find something new an interesting. The book covers the first planning stages of the house, the construction/material phases, etc. Probably the most interesting fact was the story of the original owners (G + W) which makes the house so intriguing. Furthermore, it includes the G-W III house designed by E. Fay Jones (a onetime Wright apprentice). The only drawback is there are no photos of the bedrooms and gallery area of the house. Overall, I rate this book among the best of Wright Usonian house books!!!

Thank you so much for offering this book. The info on how it came to be and background correspondence between Wright and the clients is very extinsive. I only regret the book dosen't give more photo's. The footnotes add a balance to the over all effect of the book. Anyone out there have more info on this house in Okemos Mich, please E-mail me at cdrhodes56@hotmail.com

Brain challenging!
After 20+ years of playing the drum set I can hear and feel most standard rock and jazz rhythms fairly easily. But the rhythms in this book are so different that I find myself challenged in each exercise---even the simplest ones! This book will really help the drummer who is comfortable with current and past rock and jazz styles, because it is a huge stretch from the 4/4 and 3/4 that most of us spend virtually all of our time playing. More than anything, this book will help your overall sense of time, because its contents are so different from the American rock-pop-jazz genre, that your brain will have to work overtime to master them. It's helpful if you have some Latin traps in your kit, but not necessary to reap the full benefit. Couple this book with Gary Chester's New Breed, and you'll step into a new phase of musical creativity in your drumming career. The included CD is really essential to understanding the groove of these exercises.

The best book I own so far
If you are looking to spruce up your playing, this is the book for you. It uses a step by step process to ease you into the most dificult rhythms. It also comes with a cd that gives examples of all the beats in this book which I found very helpful. You can apply the beats learned in this book to any type of music for a much more interesting sound. I would say this book is for moderate to advanced drummers. Get this book, It's worth it.

You gotta get the cuban beat

Essence of the 50s
This book took me back to the fiftys in a big way. It captures the small town flavor of even the large cities and the wonderful innocence of growing up then.

Nostalgic, bittersweet...just wonderful. Read it!
This is one of those books that will have you thinking about its characters long after you've finished reading it. Kathryn and Christy became so real to me, their friendship so alive and dynamic, that it's hard for me to believe they didn't really exisit.

The unlikely friendship forged between Christy, a 14 year old coming of age during a hot Baltimore summer and Kathryn, a beautiful 23 year old stricken with polio in her teens, is so poignantly rendered. The characters are so complete! Their exchanges are witty and wonderful. Okay, I'm gushing. But this book affected me pretty deeply. It's rare to read a book that makes you laugh, cry and ponder the nature and the mystery of human relationships. I wish there could be a sequel that follows Christy throughout his adult life (there is a very brief epilogue dealing with this, but it was too brief for me).

The relationship between Christy and his family (particularly his father) is also an important part of the story--how his father's actions shape Christy's perceptions of the world, how Christy grows to understand a bit better the complexities of adulthood. There is also some wonderful interaction between Christy and his sister Sue after she is raped by the neighborhood good guy.

Maybe some people will find this book too tame or lacking in action. But to me, it was a wonderful "slice of life" kind of novel about how what appears to be an ordinary summer can actually turn into extaoridinary, life-altering experience.

Tears of joy and sadness
Many years have passed since I read a book that brought tears to my eyes. This is the one that did it!

Love it!
I played the Yellow Brick Road in a version of The Wiz, and it's an awesome show. I will never forget it. "Ease on Down the Road" and "Slide Some Oil to Me" are probably the best songs. There is no show as creative and imaginative as The Wiz.

I haven't read it yet, but i'm in it
I'm in an adaption of the Wiz right now as an insane person, a slave, and part of the tornado. It RULZ!
