The NIV Application Commentary Series is one of the best commentary series I have ever encountered. Each commentary goes through the text of its respective book and 1) grapples with the original meaning, 2) finds bridging concepts from other passages of Scripture and historical sources, and 3) gleens present day applications out of the biblical text. While this commentary is sound theologically, its focus is more pastoral. It seeks to answer the question, "How do I live by these principles today?" The Philippians commentary follows this template with great success. One of the most profound themes of the commentary, and the book of Philippians, deals with the question of suffering. It is both intellectually stimulating and painfully practical.

I purchased this book recently and found it to be the most informative book on restaurants I have ever seen. Usually we find only reviews in restaurant books, but in this case we were able to find out just about everything the restaurants had to offer. It had a wonderful mix of family style restaurants all the way through to some very find dining restaurants. It was nice to have something so user friendly. We have also noticed this type of book in some other cities that we have travelled and want to thank Mr. Frank Aaron for such a wonderful concept. We will continue looking for his style of publications in all the cities we travel too.

This book is very good, very creative and makes learning fun for your child. My daughter has enjoyed this workbook all year. She will choose it on her own to work in. The pages are very clear, creatively illustrated and presented in a manner so that the child can enjoy the challenge of "game" and really be learning fundamental skills for reading and writing.

We think it's been a great tool!

I have been a student of the American Civil War for 30-plus years and still find this book, with its accompanying 4 volumes, a foremost commentary and comprehensive photographic assemblage which surpasses most other single volumes or more inclusive works. I like two things about this collection....there are photographs here that I have never seen before, so it is extremely extensive, and it was initially compiled and published in 1911, which gives an advantageous and "less than contemporary" perspective from many actual participants of the event that were still alive at that time. In this particular volume, short biographies and photographs are given of each army's leaders, north and south. Essays are presented on Grant, R. E. Lee, and "Stonewall" Jackson as well as the various departments and armies of both governments. Various statistics are presented such as the sizes of armies, corps, regiments, and so on, and the dates of every battle and skirmi! sh, no matter the impact, with casualty counts. There is also a complete section concerning the veterans organizations which were established during and after the war, including their histories through 1911.

Best physics book I've read yet. (College Freshmen/Sophomore level). The questions at the end of the chapters are fantastic the examples are relevant and easy to understand. THEY MUST REPRINT THIS BOOK!!!!!

A very simple story written by someone that shows a great knowledge about feelings and emotions... (thanks a lot, Frank)

This is a book by one who studied under Wright. It offers an up close view of life at Taliesin. Also of the many books I've collected on Wright this is the only one to show the beautiful Rose and Gertrude Pauson house before it caught fire. It's a shame they chose not to rebuild. Another hit from the Brand New Readers series. Each book is funny and fun for my 3 year old to read. The pictures are colorful and interesting. The story lines are simple enough to read yet interesting enough to make my son laugh. A great value!
