Guide for Twilight:2000, but useful as a quick reference.
This book was writen for the Twilight:2000 series of games, but is useful as a quick reference for small arm enthusests. unfortunetly the illistrations are simple line and ink drawings and some times inacurate. Some information has also beem simplified for game porposes, or is simply wrong. the book is also qute dated by military standards. on the other hand the book dose have some good imformation on the histories and developments of some weapons all in all a great book for game players and a good quick reference book.

Limited usefulness
This book has dozens of diagrams meant to explain how one can plan training sessions for an amateur soccer club for a year. The concept is good, and the author does a good job glossing over the basics of conditioning, planning of practice etc. However, when looking at the diagrams, it's very difficult to read the majority because they are so packed with arrows and numbers. In addition, the print is exceedingly small on the diagrams. Finally, although the author talks about being able to tailor the practice sessions to any age-group or level of ability, this would be extremely difficult to do without extensive experience in coaching. At that point of expertise, one would hardly need to use the relatively basic practice sessions presented here as the basis upon which to build a season's practices.

Southeast of Mandalay
This book started off slow but picked up a little toward the middle. The main charachter is a man named Colin Smallpiece. He is comparable to James Bond and Indiana Jones all mixed into one person. This book is in a series of other books from what I have learned. The book hints back to other times and places that Colin has been. Anyway, the story is about a 155 mil. cannon that was stolen during the Vietnam War. That and 12 million dollars. A clandstine group called Omega One sends Colin to go and bring it back under the guise of getting two movie stars' twins back. One of the twins dies and Colin fights a small time drug lord who is the twins father. In the end he uses nuclear shells in the gun and blows the enemy camp away. Colin seems to have mutliple personalities, one being an old drill instructor by the name of McConkle. There is a some romance going on in the story and some in depth reading. It was an alright book. There is a lot more to the book but you will have to read it to find out the rest.

Just plain fun.
This book collects some of the stranger Spider-Man adventures and features some good stories by famous creators. While not all the stories are great they are mostly solid works.
The first storyline has Spider-Man heading to the Savage Land in order to find the man known as Karl Lykos (formerly Sauron) who is no longer controlled by his pterodactyl-counterpart and wants to lead a lonely life in the Savage Land. But with Spider-Man and Angel mutated into monsters can Ka-Zar save the day? Perhaps, if Lykos is willing to do something no one hope he would do. This story is forgettable but fun. Nothing worth noting really, except it marked the return of Sauron.
The second story has Spider-Man trying to remove his powers but instead gaining four more arms. Taking refuge in Curt Conners lab Spidey runs afoul a new foe: Morbius the Living Vampire! Who is he and what happened to him to make him a vampire. And will Spidey survive when the Lizard shows up? A cool Stan Lee and Roy Thomas written-tale that features a great first act, as well as a great moment in which Spider-Man tries to picture his new life with six-arms. The story slips a bit with the introduction to Morbius but overall is a great Spider-Man tale.
Next is a Howard the Duck tale by Steve Gerber himself, one that will hopefully make you forget about the Howard the Duck movie. This romp features Howard one of the series main characters as he has to acts as a warrior to assist an evil wizard to save his new friends neck. While not the best Howard tale, it does have it's moments as well as some great art in certain points. The introduction of Spider-Man to the story, however, feels really forced.
The last tale has Frank Miller art but is probably the least of the bunch. Still good though. Spider-Man is called upon to save Dr. Strange from a villain who emerges from the team-up of Dr. Doom and Dormammu. But how can Spider-Man succeed where the sorceror supreme has failed?
Overall a good set of obscure Spider-Man stories that's good for trade paperback fans who don't by back issues with good stories.

Elektra Stories Cut Up And Pasted Back Together Again
This is the Elektra saga excerpted from the Daredevil comics. They took bits and pieces of the original stories and tried to put it together in a book that emphasized Elektra. Not a good idea as a lot of the origianl storytelling elements were lost in the transition. Hopefully Marvel will rerelease the original Frank Miller Daredevil series in their complete form.

When is an anthologizer not an author?
I purchased this book believing it had as yet unread stories by my beloved professor, Charles J. Calitri, only to find that it is a collection (and a very fine one) of stories meant to be used as a high school text, with most stories followed by a poem appropriate to their meaning. I am merely rather disappointed, having believed it to contain more of Calitri's work; to list Jennings and Calitri as "Authors" is surely misleading.

all doctors should read this book to help them make decision
The doctor involved had to make a decision and only God knows if he did the right thing or not. But for a reader of this book, I sincerely suggest that all doctors read thia book, which can no doubt help them to think before making a fatal decision.

Good, but short.
I recently bought this book for a school sponsered summer reading program and i enjoyed very much. SO much so that i had finished in under two hours. I wish the book had gone on longer brnging me evidence to support both cases on whether or not UFO's exist. However, over all i would recommend to others.
Walt Kuhn (1877-1949)

Informative - but lacking in color illustrations
Walk Kuhn's work was exhibited in the fall of 1967 in a gallery in New York City. This book was a companion to the show and includes examples of some of the works exhibited.
Frank Getlein provides a brief, well-written and informative history of the artist, his life, roal in the Armory Show, contemporaries, technique and etc. I enjoyed this book but was disappointed with its lack of color illustraions (only two of the fifty-two examples of his work are color, cover included)
