Poetry as a personal science, I have never read better.
These poems are long, their structure is rigid; they are written with the discipline of an engineer and the eye of a scientist; they are lyrical and beautiful, they are literary and intelligent; they deal in a single turn with tremendously huge issues of this world and the next, and with the implicitly small - the minutae of life and love. i have never read anyone, who writes so well about his love for science, music and women, with equal depth, vigour and scrutiny. And he's got an amazing beard. This is his most accessable anthology it includes, "Passing Between Doorways (?)" which is included in The Faber Book of Scottish Poetry, 1994 (ed. Douglas Dunn) and the one about notes on a book of photographs included in Some Contemporary British Poets, 1984 (ed, Micheal Schmidt). His other books "Bad day" and "Ridiculous Absurd" are amazing too.

Good textbook
This is a clearly written and well-organized textbook by Drake and Singh, treating elementary (albeit axiomatic) set theory for students having some familiarity with naive set theory and elementary logic. The book is demanding but clear. A good background would be provided by reading Halmos's NST and the first few chapters of ML by Ebbinghaus et al. The topics treated here are well-chosen, and even exciting "modern" developments are glimpsed -- such as forcing, boolean-valued models, large cardinals etc.
In short, this is a very good textbook suitable as an introduction to set theory for mathematics students.

Great book!!!
The Internet Publishing Handbook takes you through the process of Internet publishing from beginning to end, using examples and advice gathered from Internet publishers around the world. This book focuses on World-Wide Web, Gopher, and WAIS as the most easily used methods for distributing information on the Internet and discusses additional tools and options, including hiring an Internet consultant to create your publications and maintain your data. I highly recommend reading Chapter 10 first! This book is wonderfully informative and is a must buy for all interested in internet publishing.

A must-read for fans of Lambert or colonial America
This is a well-written analysis of a much misunderstood event in western history. Lambert attempts to explain the establishment and perpetuation of the First Great Awakening in the American colonies and effectively argues his case that the event was one of deliberate planning and execution rather than a spontaneous, pervasive religious revival. The reader is drawn into Lambert's discussion of the causes and effects of the Awakening on both sides of the Atlantic and can not help making comparisons to modern evangelists attempts to spread their messages to the masses. While not of interest to all, this book is a rewarding and entertaining read. I eagerly await his next opus.

Smith's book provides an excellent account of the step-by-step disintegration of our schools from the integration of organized testing. Take note of the chapter on SAT testing, and the new arsenal of state sponsored testing. The new discrimination comes from white-collared bureaucrats using statistics and bell curves to establish their own Meritocracy.
Now the chapter on computers is already a little dated, but don't let that dissuade you. Read it and then pass in on to someone else. This is a must read for anyone who cares even a little about education today. It should be on the same shelf with Neil Postman and Alfie Kohn's books.
