Good information on lung cancer
This book presents a wide range of lung cancer information in a format that is well organized and easy to read, even for someone without a science background. This is a textbook, and as such is not appropriate to answer all questions about lung cancer but rather presents several topics in-depth. If you are a lung cancer patient or family member, you may find some helpful information but do not rely on this book as your only source of information.

Great read, creative writing style. Waiting for the next two
Love it! The first 14 pages were a lot to chew but were totally necessary to set up the trilogy and build the characters. You can tell the writer put enough factual detail to give it a "real sense" despite the fact that the story is purely fiction. Utilizing end-time prophecies from the Bible, Koran and Torah to establish his own unique vision, the writer weaves a tale of primative jungle beliefs and more organized religious codes to expand and share an apocalyptic vision truly horrifying.
Thomas includes enough detail to allow readers a glimpse into his characters' minds and uses the present tense through much of the story giving a sense of immediacy to the reader. I found the writing to be excellent and very descriptive. It was hard to set down and I read it in 2 days. It WILL make you stop and think. I can't wait to read the next two. The story spans approximately 30 years beginning just before the end of society as we know it and reaching past to the salvation of human exsistence.
Keep an open mind and enjoy!

Non-technical Introduction to NLP
This is a book for those wishing a first introduction to the concepts and applications of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). It is not technical and also not for the advanced NLP student. Its target audience is for those across many professions who would like to learn more about effective communication with others. Informal and entertaining, valuable to managers, sales people, consultants, parents, educators, and even therapists as a first-time introduction. Published in 1992, it contains the important basics of the field, but does not have recent developments.

Magill's History of Europe
I have had to use this book for a paper I had to write about European History. It was very informative, and I found a large majority of the info I needed out of this book, I would reccomend it. The only thing that kept it from getting five stars, was the fact that it got a bit boring at some times.

The history of American diplomacy told in human terms
"Makers of American Diplomacy," edited by Frank J. Merli and Theodore A. Wilson, collects 25 essays each of which focuses on a particular "maker." Here is the roll call: Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, Charles Wilkes, James K. Polk, William Henry Seward, Hamilton Fish, James Gillespie Blaine, Alfred Thayer Mahan, Theodore Roosevelt, Willard D. Straight, Woodrow Wilson, James T. Shotwell, Henry L. Stinson, Stanley K. Hornbeck, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S Truman, Dean Acheson, George F. Kennan, John Foster Dulles, John F. Kennedy, J. William Fulbright, and Henry A. Kissinger. So we have nine Presidents, almost as many Secretaries of State, several political theorists, a couple of proponents of naval power, and Benjamin Franklin. When I read this book, actually the two paperback volumes, it was the supplemental reading for one of my American Diplomacy classes. The strength of these essays is that they see key moments in American diplomatic history as extensions of individual personalities. This would be very much in the Thomas Carlyle "hero in history" mode. Thus we understand American Destiny in terms of Seward, diplomatic activisim through the eyes of T.R., containment in terms of Truman, and balance of power in terms of Kissinger. As a supplemental text this is an excellent collection of essays that flesh out the history of American diplomacy in human terms.

Better for liturgical discussion than planning
Andersen's book is very good for the historical background of the liturgy. It's difficult to put into words the attitude and emotions that everyone in the assembly needs to bring to the Mass to really make it work. This book stresses the importance of the assembly as opposed to the priest and ministers. The assembly is NOT an audience but is truly essential for the liturgy to have meaning.
Andersen offers suggestions on how the liturgy could be changed to better accommodate the "full conscious active participation" of the assembly. Many of them are good, but there are no provisions in the rubrics for them, making them seem impossible to implement. Perhaps in the future after much discussion, they may be implemented, but that could be 100 years at the speed the Catholic Church moves in making changes. We must be careful to change things too quickly or liturgical chaos could result.
This book is good, but I would prefer more suggestions on what we can do now to improve meaning within the current rubrics.
All that being said, this was enjoyable reading. If one is not too pressed for time, I reccommend it. It's good to know that there is good discussion out there and perhaps changes may be made "someday".
For the average reader or liturgy planner this book may be frustrating, because it offers suggestions about an "ideal" liturgy, and everyone can offer their own ideas on that. It doesn't really tell us how to do what really needs to be done-- to touch the hearts and souls of the assembly-- there is no set formula for that (unfortunately).

An excellent book with a new point of view.
"Man-shy" by F.D.Davison is the story of a cow, her birth, her clever escape from a ranch, and the rest of her life. The book is sensitively written from the cow's point of view and the plotline is complex enough to keep the reader riveted while not so convoluted as to force multiple readings. "Man-shy" is a great book.

well-written and alluring to the on-going mystic of the char
The places and range that Frank Hammer ranges are of great historical curiosity for anyone living in the area that he operated. I can appreciate not only the danger but also the carisma he must have possessed to align forces with the forces dela Mexico. In the East Texas escapades Frank operated in many well known towns whose citizens may not even be aware that he was operating in. It is almost unbelievable that a Texas Ranger with that many notches on his belt was not killed by the likes of the outlaws he chased. From his earliest thoughts about being a pastor to the 1st man that he shot down, his life was superrealistic in his cander of getting the job done, as well as his devotion to the love of his life

As an editorial crusader for the Risanimento of Naples, a slum clearance program, he inveighed against the government of Naples for its corruption, venality and hearlessness, its abandonment of a beautiful city and people. He supported initiatives for better sanitation and housing.
As the leading dramatist of Naples, he wrote a history of the San Carlino Theatre. In 1889, his drama, Mala vita, was adapted as a libretto for an opera set to music by Umberto Giordano. His finest drama, Assunta spina, won popular acclaim in 1909. It was filmed twice, more recently starring Eduardo De Filippo and Anna Magnani.
The humanism of Salvatore DiGiacomo has not dated. The lyrics of this supreme dialect poem are sung every day, every hour, somewhere.
