Dust off your Ph.d and Try to Decipher the Options Market
An executive I respect felt that this book by one of his old professors would give great insight to Foreign Currency Option Stategies. As more of a fundamental analyst than a technician I was mostly lost. I struggled through a master's and most of a doctorate, but statistics was always a pain. Beware that advanced mathematical underpinnings are crucial to the enjoyment of the book. For the amateur who wants to understand why rocket scientists (for real) are hired from Cal Poly and MIT to run Wall Street trading programs, we;;, just keep this book near your computer when you think your day trading will beat the pros.

Not that good
Barbara McGrath has done lots of books like this--simple counting books using candy or some kind of food. This is OK but the illustrations aren't that good.

Ok at best
This is very geared to the process and structure. It gives little quality responses to typical oral board questions.

Look At Lovecraft From One of His Closest Friends
A look at the life and times of Howard Phillips Lovecraft by Frank Bellknap Long, one of his closest friends and fellow writer. Long discusses his meetings with Lovecraft, Lovecraft's marriage, his homage to Poe and Dunsany, and his ideas about literature as well as his unwavering atheistic materialist philosophy. Long obviously is suffering from hero-worship to a great degree here and is not very objective, but it is still worth reading for anyone interested in macabre literature.

A Students View.
Its not that its a bad book, but that it was certainly not a book that I feel makes the subject easy to understand or comprehend. I feel that there must be other books, such as those in similar fields by Cengal and Boles.

If its prescribed for a paper I would reckomend getting it out from the library rather than buying it. I had to buy it for an open book exam, and am now having trouble selling it, no one wants it!

If you want a book to read to learn about thermodynamics try other titles, this one wont do your effort justice.

(I got a B in the paper anyways)

OK for beginners
This book gives basic idea about the world of ABS but it doesn't go into any details in any field, be it qualitative or quantitative. This book is certainly NOT for practitioners but may be good for beginners who want to get some idea about ABS structures and the risk associated with investing in ABS. Definately NOT worth the price tag.

Out of date
This was a great (5 star) book in it's day but it is over 5 years old now and badly out of date. The publisher needs to update this book now and it will be a big seller again. sjs

Landscape Drawing With Pencil
Frank M. Rines book is the shortest I've seen, but, its straight foward and to the point. He shows how to setup your pencil and instructs on textures. Frank explains how very important drawing trees can be. His sample drawings are wonderfull.

Little Evil Things : Volumes I-III (3-Pak)

Could be a lot better
Little Evil Things is a great concept. The music is well done, but the writing and voice acting could be a lot better.

If you're expecting radio drama style production, this ain't it. These are (ostensibly) scary stories told by a narrator. There are occassionally other actors, but it's primarily first-person narrative with an evocative score throughout each story.

The stories themselves are overwrought Twilight Zone clones that start well but end predictably. The voice acting is hit or miss. Some of the stories are well narrated, but others are pretty hokey.

Again, it's a great concept that could be executed much better. Perhaps volumes IV and V improve on the idea, but I'm not willing to buy them to find out.

The Lost Princess of Oz

Not playing by the rules.
Writing a series is just like playing a game. You need to play by the rules to make everything turn out just right. If you can't play the game without cheating it you need to quit while you're ahead. Winners never cheat, and cheaters never win. The Frogman is really a reworking of Mr. Wogglebug. He is born a normal frog and then falls into a magic pond that makes him bigger and wiser. The Yips make him their leader. He lives based on a lie untill he accidently swims in the Truth Pond. (not having control over what you say is a curse that no one should have) He goes from arrogant and conceited to lovable and just proud. (like Mr. Wogglebug is) It was not magic that brought Mr. Wogglebug the way he is. He spent three whole years in a schoolhouse of the best scholar there ever was. He spent about a year living in the truth and now almost a century living based on a lie. Everyone acted like they were so blinded by what they don't like about him (what they don't understand) that they couldn't see the beauty in his spirit. So he just automatically became what they thought he was, all because they just couldn't see the truth. And the Scarecrow got all of his special gifts and the Frogman got all the rest of him when he was created.
