Excellent, written by a pro, easy read. Not just facts and figures but a self-defense and a survival guide for every woman. Women, don't fall an easy prey, scream "fire" and fight back - you will be glad you did!

Everything you read is as though your in prison yourself!!!!
This book reads as though an inmate is talking to you about his/her crime!! Very captivating and intresting. You actually get inside real serial crime offenders heads. Definatly not the things an inmate would say on a news cast. Real, raw and unadulterated accounts as interpreted by the offender!! Must read!!

Amazingly comprehensive subject material
This is a tremendous book for those interested in Christian counseling. I already own one; I'm buying another for my father who is a pastoral counselor. I am currently a counseling graduate student at John Brown University and the variety of subject material that this book covers is simply amazing. It is by far my favorite counseling book, and I have read dozens. It does not knock science, as unfortunately some Christian counseling theorists do. It recognizes scientific truths, while remaining true to the Bible.

Outstanding and comprehensive study of general psychology
From the physical basis to counseling modalities, this is the obvious textbook of choice for schools desiring to teach psychology from a Christian viewpoint. This is great for upper division high school or a general course for college students.

Surveys introductory psychology with a Christian perspective

If you get only one fathering/parenting book, get this one!
If you get only one fathering/parenting book, this is the one to get. It covers everything from the importance of dad's involvement to child development to spousal communications and more. Bob Frank has been on the forefront of fathering trends for years and has many years of experience as both a parent and a family therapist.

Highly Recommended.

This book is gold for parents partnering to raise children.
As a 50-year old looking back at my parenting experiences, I found this book reassuring in those things that I did right and revealing about those things I could have done better. It is a book not just for fathers. It would be a mistake to give it to a father and say,"Here, this is what you must do." It is a book to be read and experienced together by parents willing to create a partnership in raising their children. The book covers concerns from before the baby's birth through young adulthood. It offers a wealth of anecdotes and practical suggestions to help parents nurture and guide their children while maintaining a balanced parenting relationship. I wish I had this book before my first child was born, but, it is not simply another "newborn parent" offering. If I had received this book at any stage of my children's development, I would have found it insightful and helpful. I plan to send it to son, daughters, nieces, and nephews. A great gift to be given by a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or friend. Robert Frank's professionalism and caring shines through.

Every Father should read this book!
Dr Frank really understands today's family and offers valuable advice for father's. I recommend it be REQUIRED reading for every father. This book will help you become more in touch with your children and you will gain a better understanding of why your role as an involved father is so important in their life!

Use of Quality Control Handbook 1983 - 1988
While I continue to find Juran's Quality Control Handbook useful today, it was especially valuable to me when re-engineering software to support Health and Welfare Benefit business systems.
Also, later at a federal agency I found Juran's "root cause" for quality problem management extremely valuable. Currently, I am pursuing a senior level advisory position in the federal government and hold the Certified Information Systems Security Professional credential. I find Juran's handbook still valuable and worth studying even in today's Internet world.

This is the best reference for the ASQC certification exams.
Planning on taking the ASQC certification exams? Need to bring the least amoutns of reference materials? This handbook and the primer are all you need

An outstanding reference handbook on quality!
I frequently use Juran and Gryna's Quality Control Handbook as a reference for my work and writing. It is a comprehensive reference for many issues in quality management, quality control, and statisitical process control. There are excellent discussions of quality as "fitness for use," and the true costs of poor quality. If you plan to take any of the American Society for Quality Control's certification examinations, this is a good reference. I used it for the Quality Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Quality Management, and Quality Auditing exams, and it served me well in each case. -William A. Levinson

The Leo Frank Case

A great historical account
I got interested in this case after reading a large write up in the local paper, the Atlanta Journal constitution, which is quoted many times in the book. I like historical books and was really amazed at the semitic overtones in the south during the civil war. As stated by reveiwer C. Ellen, it was written well and put into context with other goings on in that period. Being from Atlanta myself, I could very easily relate to the narative and it held my facination throughout. It told what I beleive to be the complete story and facts as well as being updated for NEW release in 1987 by adding an additional preface. Anyone who is interested in civil war reads, the laws of the time , or who lives in or around Atlanta , will be interested in this book. Over 50 pages of it are dedicated to the bibliography and all facts are well documented. It is a story that is all to reminiscent of famous cases that have arrisen in the past few years. It's a sad commentary on just how far the attitudes of this nation have come in the past 100 years or so. If interested in further information after reading this book, then I suggest trying to contact the Atlanta Journal Constitution for their brilliant account of the incident in the June 11, 2000 addition of their paper. It also gives a partial list of the lynching mob, held in secretcy until this time. A great book to own for any historical book collection.

An excellent treatment of the subject
As a judge, a lawyer and an historian I had heard about the Leo Frank case but did not know the details. Leonard Dinnerstein does an excellent job of relating the story of Leo Frank in a fair and unbiased manner. He also puts the entire affair in a historical context. This would be an excellent read for any student of racism in America and of the New South. It is easy to read and has an excellent bibliography.

Well written, impartial treatment of the Frank Case
Dinnerstein does a beautiful job in eloquently presenting the facts of the famous Leo Frank case. All angles of the case are examined in a thorough, impartial manner. A must read for anyone familiar with the Frank case, and well worth looking into for anyone who loves a good murder mystery.

A History of Longhorn Cattle at the Grass Roots
J. Frank Dobie spent his life documenting the grassroots history of Texas and this book is probably his finest examples. I've read all of his books and found this one to be the most informative. There's also a wonderful collection of photographs of many of the different variations of horn and hide at the rear of this book. You'll learn how the cattle came north from Mexico in the beginning and how early settlers rooted them out of the thickets of East Texas to start their herds. You'll learn about many of the principal cattlemen of early Texas including their drives north to the Kansas railhead.

If you enjoy Texas history you'll really enjoy this book.

Tales of Texas
Frank Dobie, a University of Texas professor, spent years collecting stories of the old southwest. Many are tales that he wrote down of 19th Century life. Several are collected into volumes about important parts of life at the time, including "Longhorns" and "The Mustangs".

They provide great insight into the origin of those animals and their importance to people who lived in those times.

Another excellent Dobie book is "I'll Tell You a Tale," with excerpts from these two books and others. The anthology includes tales of gold, stories of irony, Old West characters, and saddle stories.

When Cattle was King
This book is classic Dobie in style and is "the" book on Texas Longhorns. Dobie takes us through the history of the breed, through the animal, through the men and women that loved, used and abused them, and through the many tales that surround them, both fiction and fact. The animal stands large in this work, but the flavor of the old days, of the hardships, of the ranch life, of the love for the land of the people who lived and died there is a part of it too. For anyone with an interest in this breed, this book is a must read. For anyone else with a feel for the Southwestern United States, Texas, cowboys, or the land, it's time well spent.

Fans finally see how A&C Meet Frankenstein is created.
For years. The fans of Abbott & Costello wanted to find out how their most famous film parody of horror movies"Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein!"came about.A few books have come to light in recent years:"Movie Comedy Teams"by Leonard Maltin,"The Abbott & Costello Book"By Jim Mullholland and:"Abbott & Costello In Hollywood!"by Ron Palumbo & Bob Furnemack.Now..As a companion to These three manuscripts is the paperback edition of the film's script.Film historian Phil Riley has found an early draft of the script that shows us all scenes and dialogue that never appeared in the final release print:"Oh Oh! And Up Pops The Devil","You're not going to leave me with all of this work"."You're not suppose to throw away all of that fat wasite".etc in terms of the film's dialogue. There is one scene that was never used in the film and sadly. It prohibieted Poor Lou from using his improvational skills as a true movie clown. The scene has "Dracula"(Bela Lugosi)using his hyponotic powers to lure poor"Wilber Brown"(Costello)back into the castle for the brain transplaint.Lou keeps trying to run away. But the power of the evil vampire's spell is so strong that he is constantly being pulled back into the castle via the cave entrance. He finds a rock and sits there."Dracula"(Bela) by now is getting madder than hell! And he says to "Wilber"(Lou)"I Said Come Back!"."Wilber Brown"sits on the rock and says"'No! I'm sitting right here and I'm not going back!".Until both Lou and the rock are zipped back into the cave and into the evil clutches of "Dracula"(Bele Lugosi) and "Dr.Sandra Morney"(Lenore Aubert). The book also shows some photos from the film and some wonderful behind the scenes candid pictures from the cast members, the film's director(Charlie Barton),The film's producer(Bob Arthur)and Dialogue Director(Norman Abbott..Bud's newphew)and the members of the Abbott & Costello families. There are also some thoughts about the making of the film from the team's family members and the true story of how this classic parody was conceived and filmed by the book's author:Mr.Riley.For fans of horror movies and for fans of classic comedy movies. This is one book to have in your collection.Bravo Phil! Kevin S.Butler.

Magicimage Filmbooks Presents Abbott and Costello Meet Frank
This is a great treasure for Abbott and Costello fans as well as Chaney, Lugosi, or Universal fans. The pictures alone are worth the price of the book. The script is still titled "The Brain of Frankenstein" and includes deleted scenes which further add to the story. As someone who has seen the film many times the added info gives new insights as to the characters performances.

comic duo's best film.
Classic horror film stars meet legendery comic duo make for great film and great book. behind the scenes info with rare photographs and insight into the relationships with all protagonist's. Also critic's reviews and posters and billboards from the orginal time of film's release.

Touches the heart of the soul
first read this in 1979-80. truly an experience that stays with you. only one other book has had a lasting effect on the depths of my being: robert pirsigs'zen & the art of motorcycle maintanence'. every 'man' needs to explore Frank Waters gift. every 'man' needs to give this to his 'son'.

Frank Waters was a master of sublime subtlety and truth
It helps to have visited the village of Taos to appreciate this novel dealing with the tribes sacred Blue Lake and metaphysical power. Given the circumstances of the plot, its unfolding has intense meaning to all who seek their souls true identy. The narrative insidiously leads from one attitude to another, from what was learned to what is felt. Going "back to the blanket" is an imperceptible reunion with the customs of the past that moves man to become what he really is and/or wants to be. The beauty of the idea can affect deeply readers searching for their own unincumbered identity and peace.

A quietly powerful novel of personal identity and interbeing
This is a subtle, poignant novel which explores cultural conflicts and personal struggles for identity and interbeing. It concludes with an awareness of the inevitable oneness of all people within the rhythms of the earth. The novel made me contemplate my own values and relationships. It moved me to tears and quiet joy. It gave me a strong sense of my place as a human being in the web of life. I did not want the book to end. Martiniano, the man who killed the deer, is a vivd, honest character who will remain in my mind
