Leon Metz's El Paso Chronicles is not written in the standard non-fiction style, but is a fascinating look at many different eras of El Paso history. It is a book that takes the reader on a chronological tour of the development of the El Paso Southwest and a look at many of the colorful characters who made this town. It is something you can read a little here, a little there, and not feel you are losing the plot. A good coffee break book.

This book is very good by at least one reason, which is well known to the author:"...I tried to derive everything from Maxwell's equations" - everybody try, but only few can. The complicated knot of reciprocity, power conservation and self-adjointness of operators is investigated here for wide variety of modern physical applications. Excellent book.

Although an introduction to political science, this book should also appeal to students of the social sciences. It is clearly laid out, and the comprehensive index enables easy access to specific topics or ideas. I found this particularly useful in completing social science course assignments. The narrative is very readable without losing its academic value. I highly recommend this book to political science and social science students as a source to "dip into" for specifics and for its clear coverage of difficult political concepts.

My five-year-old found this introduction to subtraction entertaining. It has value for parents, as well, because it reminds them that the opportunities to play at math with children are everywhere, even in elevators.

Ok, it's a big and heavy book but there is no other book that I know that cover graphic communications history as well as "Encyclopedia of Graphic Communications". It's a must of you're into that part of graphics. But also if you just want a great book to look through to get ideas. I loved the parts about termoly of printing, paper, ink, typography, color etc...

This book is very good, especially at the soft cover price of about 50 dollars. You can't beat that price for the information you get.

The book is a translation (translated by Ken Wallace) of a german book by Pahl and Beitz.

The presents a comprehensive systematic approach to engineering design and is HIGHLY referenced in academic publications regarding engineering design.

The text is clearly worded, the graphics are good (and numerous) and the index is excellent.

I've recently enlisted in the Army, and was looking for some good sorces of information, besides my recruiter! I got this book on a whem...and it turn out to be very useful. There is alot of information in this book about everything, your Class A and Class B uniforms from how to salute, and vacation time. Housing pay, and if you have family..can they go with you. It talks about overseas and hazard pay also. About being promoted and how to excell. There really is alot of information, with enuff depth to help you understand, and it tells you books to look at for more in-depth information. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to know all they can, and it would be a good book to look at before you sign your papers...or after...for some good questions to ask your recruiter or any Sergeant.

Great Bible Commentary for people who have desire to study the Word of God. Even I don't agree everything the Authors said, but the book give me a new focus on the Bible.

The book gives to the reader a good knowledge of the complex RFC world. It doesn't go deep in any Ethernet standard but have good Internet sites addresses where someone can get those. The author waist a lot of time talking about what will be seen in the next chapters and when you get there you feel a little disappointed. The title "...RFCs and standards made practical" is not a good one for the book. It should be " The RFCs and standards world made practical".

This fourth book in the Euripides series gives the reader another fairly rare play: Rhesus. Readable translation that is easily affordable with good general introductions. A bit too conservative in translation at points.
