Hilarious and Inventive
I like a car that turns into a dinosaur and a flying chicken and some other very cool things as the Popsnorkles' new car does. I've read this book to preschoolers for more than a decade, and they adored it. Check it out.

My kids have me read this over and over.
Remember when you used to wonder what all those buttons did in your parents' car? The choke on our old station wagon would make wings pop out, my dad said. Ha! It was no match for the Tooth-Gnasher Superflash. That car does it all! Wow. Zoom. Cool. Read it again, Daddy. Of course.

Fantastic
Thanks to Dan and Cheryl De Worken I have found a training log that has everything i need to track food consumption, water intake, and all my work-outs all lined out for me. I can track my weight loss, fat loss, and see how much muscle i've gained. There is nothing even close anywhere that can help you accomplish your goals. Plus they have a toll free # you can contact and get help, advise, etc. Thanks

The Best Training Companion On The Market!!!
Amazing does not fully describe this outstanding training workbook. It is all completely laid out for you; food inventories, cardio record, resistance training and routines. The Transformation Toolbox breaks up the routines for you for optimum results, chest & tri, back & bi, legs & shoulders, body mass, and abs and calves. This wonderful guide helped me to commit to myself. It is perfectly laid out for a 12-week program, with a page for everyday. I find that this is extremely helpful when doing the food inventory. I am able to look back and see if I was taking in enough protein and water, or perhaps taking in too much fat. This program really works! It has helped me stay organized and committed to my fitness goals.

Transformations of Consciousness: Conventional and Contemplative Perspectives on Development
Published in Hardcover by New Science Library (January, 1986)
Authors: Ken Wilber, Jack Engler, and Daniel P. Brown
Amazon base price: $29.45
Average review score:

dusty, but still therapeutic!
just one personal comment: merely reading the definitions of "split life-goals" and "dark night of the soul" by Wilber saved me several months (years?) of struggling - the book provides a novel structure of psychopathology and if you have a structure you have something to hold onto. very therapeutic book for (post)existential-level strugglers!
***
i really like the brief and concrete style of the older books by Wilber (Atman Project is my favourite!), although, according to Wilber himself, they contain slightly outdated ideas. don't start with it, but don't forget it!

Finally!!!
Where have the thoughts in this book been for so long??? Transformations of Consciousness thinks critically about issue's in psychology and spirituality that are so important and would seem so obvious, I wonder how they've managed to escape us all so completely. Primarily, this text brings attention and profoundly questions the motives of the psychological as well as contemplative schools in such a fundamental way as to expose unaddressed pervasive issues that ignorence of which can constitute avoidable casualties to mental and spiritual health. Emphasis is placed on recognition of developmental/phase specific aspects of what constitute appropriate therapeutic and spiritual practices. Specifically, when is meditation harmful as opposed to benificial. What are any of the obstacles in selectively transplanting eastern contemplative practices into the western cultural context? What can both eastern and western traditions contribute to and learn from each other? Wilber, Engler and Brown both impressed and stimulated me with the extraordinary depth and far reaching implications of their considerations. Now, I know why my experience in an eastern influenced spiritual community was bound to end in disillusionment and what has unconsciously motivated so much of my frustrating seeking! What better gift could you ask for?? If therapy has been repeatedly ineffectual, costly and disappointing, or if despite your interest in spirituality you've felt something was missing that you have had difficulty articulating; This book will articulate it. What a glorious Gift!! This book is my BIBLE now!

Great title for all ages.
Here come Kim and her pal Pete this book is a reading treat. I have read this book to my children countless times. They know it verse by verse, we love looking at all the famous people on the last page throwing out their trash, including the author and Corkscrew from Skate Board Monsters. I even entertained college students with this hip hop adventure.

great book for kids- really keeps them interested!
As much as I disliked this book at first, I must admit that my 2 year old son absolutely loves it! For the reader, it is a bit difficult at first- but after the first "read it again, Mommy" I think that anyone will find this to be a great one for the kids (and you may just find yourself enjoying it, too!)

Great Turkey Info
This is a small book, great to take out and review a month before turkey season. Lots of helpful info to keep in mind. Mr. Dia Paul has done a good job putting his years of experience into a form from which new hunters can learn. It doesn't guarantee a turkey, but it sure improves your chances!

Turkey Huntings Finer Points
After reading this book, i have a better understanding of what to wear, look for,and I never knew how well thier eyes where. I wont go into to much detail about the book, I don't want to ruin it for everyone else. I think this author, and his book is 2 thumbs up. I would reccamend it to every hunter

The Product of a Sick and Warped Mind
But, so was Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" and Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum." Only time will tell if his work will be included amongst such august company, but for the time being, Daniel Clowes stands at the top of the heap of today's comic book artists.

Twentieth Century Eightball is an omnibus, "best of" collection of his comic panels from his Fantagraphic comic book series "Eightball" which was issued semiannually from the late 1980s through the 1990s.

Clowes' rapist (pun intended) wit is in overdrive here, as he expounds on his endless lists of things he hates, often in the guise of such stand-ins as the now-classic Lloyd Llewellyn. "I Hate You Deeply" and "I Love You Tenderly" will have you howling like a banshee, as you follow Lloyd through one of his ranting diatribes against sports figures, corporate greed, hippy sellouts and lowest-common-denominators.

And that's basically the whole book: Thinly-veiled attacks on all the things that bother the idosyncratic Daniel Clowes. But, so what: They deserve bashing! My favourite targets of his ire were post-modernist talentless art school poseurs, violently agressive hippy burnout peaceniks, "hip" people, Chicagoan "Jim Belushi" types, dumb jocks and pretentious Americans such as I who use the British spelling of words (e.g., "colour" instead of "color"; "kerb" rather than "curb").

Some of the material is just too bizarre to describe here -- I don't want to give away the weirdness, so find out for yourself about "On Sports," "Pogeybait," "The Happy Fisherman" and other such sundry freakishness.

But this book also reveals a soft-spot in Clowes' heart, particularly in the short "Ugly Girls," in which he questions society's norms of "beauty." Though he doesn't use the name "Enid," the reader can tell that Clowes has long been entranced and obsessed with the raven-haired, bookish, bespectacled wallflower type. I agree: She *is* much more stunning than those trophy blondes.

some of the best!
I love this book, it has 46 stories in all. If you goto fast you will miss something. it shows Mr. Clowes early work and most of it has him in it. Some of my favorer works are Art School Confidential, Why I Hate Christians, The Stroll and Hippypants and Peace Bear. I'm sorry to say that I haven't read them all yet, it just wouldn't seem right. The nice thing about these stories is that there all different and if you a fanatic like me you can find links with others comics by Clowes. Also if you got pulled in to comics from the movie Ghost World then you can find some of the faces in the movie were first seen in Eightball. This is an amazing collection and I'm sure you will be able to relate and feel connected to it. I wouldn't give it to a child because like most of Mr. Clowes work it has nudity, sex, drugs, and some language. Don't lit that get in the way of the dialog and always stay open minded when reading.

Outstanding
I found this book quite mind involving and creative. It kept me thinking, and on the edge of my seat. Quite an exquisite literary work. You must read! If you like stories set in the future, you will love this book. It is christian based and full of action. A must read for the younger and older generation.

surprise of a novel!
This is a remarkable book. It is set just far enough into the future to help us speculate on what the state of technology will be. One of the main things I like about the book, which is something of a spiritual "whodunit", is that the action is realistic. It is not some conglomeration of unlikely adventures with superhero comic strip characters.
Thankfully, the reader does not have to hold a filter in front of his or her heart, ears, eyes and brain to keep trash from entering. You will not find offensive cursing, vulgarity, or blasphemy within its pages.
Look for something edifying rather than destructive; not just a newspaper-like style of writing, but something challenging. The poetry, dream scenes, futurism and the fact the book takes place in real places and is inhabited by realistic characters makes it a few cuts above whatever else is out there. If you are used to going to book stores and browsing by the hour for something exciting, entertaining, nailbiting, and really hard to put down, I recommend Two Tin Lizzies. At least five stars! ...

U-505 is a Must Read!!
Admiral Daniel V. Gallery gives the common man an interesting insight into what trials and tribulations the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard fought through while trying to hold back German submarines in WWII. Gallery masterfully uses submarine logs and diaries from the German commanders and sailors to make a complete picture of the war in the Atlantic come alive as few people are able to do. Based on a true story of the only submarine ever captured in war, this is a good reader for adolescents or for those interested in a beginning study of the Naval confrontations in the Atlantic during WWII. It is a fairly easy read and only a couple hundred pages. I think it is a classic for history.

Excelent - Must read if you like military humor and history.
The author of this book is a retired Navy Admeral. The book U-505 details the authors record of the capture of the German U-Boat 505 during WW II. This is a historical type book as the author was in command of the task group that captured the only warship during WWII. A must read.

Vadose Zone Hydrology
The basic concepts and theory of vadose zone hydrology is presented. The text is well written and organized. I've found the information on vadose zone monitoring, characterizing, and deep soil-water movement very useful. The author also presents case studies which demonstrate the practical application of the subject matter.

A good geoscience textbook for understanding the vadose zone
I have used Dan Stephens' book as a textbook in a graduate-level Geology class on the vadose zone. It was ideal. A lot of unsaturated zone books have been published in the last several years, but none of the others was suitable for my purposes. Dan is an engaging speaker and teacher with lots of real-world experience, both as a teacher/researcher at New Mexico Tech and as an environmental consultant specializing in vadose zone problems. His experience comes across in this book, as does his personable way of presenting the information. Yes, there are equations. But this is not a soil physics textbook as much as it is a geosciences perspective on the vadose zone. This perspective is based on his extensive experience in arid and semi-arid settings, but some of his comments shed light on vadose zone processes in more humid climates. I should add that his treatment of this dry subject is not "dry", and relatively easy to read given the textbook breadth of material covered. Each paragraph could be expanded into a separate dissertation. Stephens has condensed a wealth of material, both practical and theoretical. I recommend it.
