Ogilvie's treatment of Acts was easy to read and educational. He made a two thousand year old book come alive with its historical context and spiritual importance. This was the first of this series I read, and it prompted me to buy more. The style of the other authors has not measured up with his.

Macau is the portugese island off Hong Kong and in this book it is run by a Syndicate which is not so much feared anymore with the new leader.

It is based around a final run of gold to Hong Kong to pay off a debt and hard to explain. But it all comes together in the end. Though not appropiate for kids due to sexual explicit material it is a good read.

Slowly it dawns on you....the poor guy is crazy! But delightfully crazy, dispite the carnage (all in his head, you see.) Such an excellent account of how belief, particularly religious, can rob us of the truths that make the universe such a remarkable place. The unquestioning devout believers may be missing the forest for the trees. Could we be closest to God when we are least thinking about Him? This is a really entertaining and funny book about a man that holds life at arms length. Wear is a great writer. Where is he? Write more Peter!!

I heard Daniel Pinkwater reading this book on NPR and going to recommend it to friends with children aged 7-12, it's truly a book children and adults can enjoy together. Seymour's travels with the goose, recipes for Corn Flake Soup, all memories I'm going to have for a while.

While surely not inexpensive for a paperback book, this is an important study---perhaps the best single volume relating the history of magnetic sound, video, and data recording methods over a century. Written by a number of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) authorities, the 20 chapters provide clearly-written and well-illustrated (nearly 100 photos and a host of diagrams) accounts of the rise of various modes of recording. One need not be an engineer (I'm not!) to understand the discussions here.

Of special value is the pulling together of material on all of these methods in one place, allowing ready comparison of who did what and when. We learn about inventors, marketing, hardware, and the means of recording, allowing a clearer understanding of how later developments built upon earlier ones. Some of the principles of modern videocams, for example, have been known for decades.

Each chapter includes references to contemporary studies and more recent research, allowing the reader to pursue topics at greater length. In all, this is a valuable anthology of original research that sheds considerable light on a fascinating story.

If you love rustic funiture you need this book. I have several books on the subject and this is by far my favorite. It has lots of great photos of both contemporary and traditional rustic pieces, and many helpful tips and how-tos. I made a willow chair and found the instructions easy to follow, with good descriptions and step-by-step photos. It was a fun project. Daniel Mack makes beautiful furniture and does a great job of sharing his knowledge.

I also found his new book, Maximize Your Inheritance for Widows, Widowers, and Heirs. Am currently reading this.

An incredible book, worthy to be mentioned next to such names as Turing and Von Neumann. It's handling of such difficult topics give amateur programmers like myself something to strive for.

Dana explains theories and philosophies dealing with conflict resolution that are applicable to every person's life. His examples are real life experiences that many readers will find familiar. It is hard to put this book down. Not only is it great for educational purpose, but this book should be used as a reference at any time. Everyone should become accustomed to the 4 Step Method. BRAVO!!
