A welcome addition to an excellent series
As the final gospel commentary in this series (Sacra Pagina) this volume will serve as a very helpful commentary to many who are pursuing a study of the Marcan text. This series stands between the highly critical, scholarly commentaries which many find intimidating or excessive and those commentaries which leave many wanting more.
After nearly fifty pages of introductory material, the authors, in following the design of the series, provide commentary and exegesis for each successive pericope in the text. Their information will be helpful to preachers, teachers, students and anyone who wants to do a careful examination of the Marcan text.
I am currently using it as a primary resource for my class notes for an eleventh grade honors course in Scripture Studies and most of the material is accessible to my students.
The scholarship is solid and the bibliographies are very helpful for anyone who wants to pursue a particular topic to a further depth.

Loved it!
This book really shows off the beauty of the Grand Canal with all of it's palaces and other buildings. One really gets the feeling of what life was like back during the height of the Serenissima. The interior shots are stunning. And the information given for each building is fascinating. Even the non-descript houses and buildings get page time... A great book.

Athanasius Kircher - Baroque polymath
Not so much a book as a collection of essays of first-rate quality about the 17th century Jesuit polymath Athanasius Kircher. The range of academic disciplines of the contributors is a testimony to the egregious intellect of Kircher - music, Egyptology, code-writing, Astronomy, acoustics, the kabbala and hermetic knowledge, medicine - the range is astonishing. It was the synthesis of all these disciplines made possible in a colossal intellect inspired by the Jesuit doctrine that God can be found in all things which made Kircher so unique in his time and in these times of excessive specialisation so unlikely to be found again. The book is hughly recommended.

Dickens at his best!
I absoulutely love this book! I was required to read Great Expectations for school, and what I thought was going to be a long and dull school novel turned out to be my favorite book of all times. It has everything that you could want in a story; life lessons, mystery, love, sadness, regret, passion, and so much more! If you enjoy reading about life's twists and turns, like the way Dickens writes, or you just want to read a good book, Great Expectations is the perfect choice. You will instantly fall in love with this Charles Dickens classic!

The Great Sex Divide: A Study of Male-Female Differences

Puts to rest a good deal of nonsense. Very interesting.
This book deals about the differences between males and females and why the two sexes think and behave in different ways. Wilson, from Darwinist evoloutionary theory, proves that the differences are ordained genetically because males and females have different roles to play in the reproduction of the human species. This fires the cannon through feminist theories that the sexes are the same. The sexes are not the same, but there is no issue of equality involved because the sexes have both strong and weak points in different areas.

Men are more agressive, prone to anger, more sexually adventurous, have better visuo-spatial skills and are slightly smarter. Women are more passive, conservative in thier sexual behavior, empathetic, caring and take a more subjective view of life. These, of course are generalizations, not the exceptions, as the author notes.

At the end of the book, it seems that men come off as smarter, more intellegent and in control than women. But the author is free to admit that women are morally superior to men, because it is the male drive towards crime and agression that is the fault of most social problems and wars. Feminism does have legitamite claims, but it is dead wrong by postulating that "society" forces males and females to act certain ways when these are dictated by simple biological function. Feminists should make thier case by appealing to senses of morals and honor towards females rather than making dictates based on faulty scientific theory.

Cohen states the facts
I picked this book up at a second hand store when i was about eight, and i have been reading it for many years, each time just as fascinated as the last. It tells of all the great monsters. Those of the sea, nessie, yeti, bigfoot... I must say that even though the reding level is pretty young, everyone will like this book.

WOW! This is a great book!
This book is incredible. The publishing companies website has comments from current military personnel and even former Senator Bob Dole. It is a captivating story that keeps you on the edge of your cushion. I noticed that there are three more books from this publishing company coming out too! I can't wait to read them!

The best source of "green" travel and adventure around.
This collection of well-researched information is inspirational. I've used it over and over again to plan new, different and interesting time off. My copy is dog-eared and marked up from the research (and dreaming). I keep it on a shelf at work as a reminder of everything else life offers us. My only question to the author is when is the update coming out!
