Not a textbook for the beginner but still good to learn from
I bought this book to learn something about the subject, and I did learn quite a bit.The potential buyer should read the subtitle closely and be aware that this is not a how to book for the first time beer brewer, you'll have to go elsewhere for detailed brewing information. This book does give a lot of history and information, good book to have if you're thinking of brewing your own Brown Ale, or just think you might want to drink the stuff.

A different point of view...
Nazis as seen by a french communist journalist, in 1932-34. His communist point of view illustrates the daily life of the young germans during those troubled years. Above all, he points out that the persecution of the communists by the nazis is a real problem compared to what was imposed to the jews... Worth reading for its sincerity.

Good look at what went wrong during the Internet bubble
Buy, Lie, and Sell High provides an interesting look at the Internet bubble and what caused it.

It was a perfect storm of greedy people with little to no business experience, combined with unethical accounting firms, loose federal regulators, new technologies, and a hungry public looking to make a quick dollar.

While the book has 'Enron' in the title, there is not a whole lot about Enron in the book, perhaps 10 pages.

The book has a number of case studies of classic dot bombs. I am surprised that with all of the case studies, Mills did not discuss one of the biggest bombs, Value America.

Overall, the book provides a good look at what went wrong and how it can be prevented from happening again.

Not Exactly...
The sub-title of this book is "Everything necessary to set up a small business C-Corporation in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.". That's quite a hefty promise! The book is a good start, but hardly lives up to the claim.

At 286 pages, there is hardly room for a lot of coporate philosophy or specifics about starting a business. More than half of the book consists of forms that are found on the CD-ROM, or explanations of specific portions of those forms. I have to classify this as a bare-bones crash-course in how to start a C-Corporation, as most of it contains generic forms that may or may not be applicable to your specific situation.

The book includes a CD-ROM, which basically just includes MS Word and Adobe Acrobat versions of forms that are printed inside the book. No other software is included, other than the Acrobat Reader. It is impossible to navigate the files without the assistance of the Table of Contents in the book, as the documents are named in a numerical fashion, and no master list of documents exists on the CD-ROM itself. Basically, the CD-ROM will just save you from re-typing the forms contained in the book, although you will likely need to do a LOT of editing for your specific situation.

The book is a bit overpriced..., IMHO. The information and forms are simply way to general to rely upon to start your own corporation, and there is absolutely no state-specific information included, other than an appendix with the addresses of each state regulatory authority in the back of the book.

Basically, I would not advise anyone to use this book to start their own C-Corporation. However, it is a good resource for those who know zero about what is involved in forming a C-Corporation, or who want to use the CD-ROM to save them some time in typing. Compared to what most lawyers will charge, it's a bargain. However, if you rely solely upon this book as the basis of how (or why) to form your C-Corporation, you are simply headed for trouble. It's a decent, well-written little reference though, and for that alone I give it three stars.

regular book
Daniel Cecchini explains several major airline desasters, but he does it in a short way. Besides these are very famous accidents and you can get cheaper and better books about them.
The only good thing this book has is how it explains the accident of LAPA flight 3142 which crashed at buenos aires 08/31/99 killing 67.

I recomend you AIR DISASTERS 1, 2, 3 & 4 BY MacArthur Job.

Separating the myth adds a myth
The author tries to separate the myth from the man and does offer some interesting analysis from his cynical viewpoint. But in debunking the myth, his point of view oversteps and creates another myth. The reader must continually weed these opinions from the facts, which he weaves in, back and forth in chronological time, using this device to often repeat his criticism, both real and imagined. Being published in 1969, Daniel James was at the disadvantage of writing soon after the events, but he does manage to make some interesting analysis when he's not too busy alienating Che.

Classic Library: Robinson Crusoe (Classic Library)

Unhurriedly Pragmatic Adventure Story
In the literary world it is perhaps blasphemy to say a bad word against Daniel Defoe's most acclaimed novel. So here goes. The fact that the book was originally titled The Life And Strange Surprising Adventures Of Robinson Crusoe illustrates the major flaw in Defoe's literary form. Put simply, this would be a far more interesting and gripping story were it not so superfluously lengthy. The author makes a habit of repeating himself, especially when it comes to the act of dispatching kittens, which seems to be more of an obsession here than octogenarian ladies are to MatronsApron. It is difficult, you may think, to keep the subject matter fresh when describing the daily tribulations of a fellow stranded on an island for thirty years, without occasionally repeating yourself. True, but perhaps a straightforward solution to this diminutive quandary would be to simply truncate the duration of the story. There are some wonderfully intriguing and suspenseful moments, and some juicy action to boot, but sadly these are gratuitously diluted by lengthy descriptions of the unremarkable everyday goings on in Crusoe's life, and rather than serving to build up the suspense, they merely obstruct the reader's relationship with the more exciting parts of the story.
However, those with more patience than my ignorant self will find in Robinson Crusoe a delightful tale, which as well as being a fictional documentary of the most unusual thirty years of Mr. Crusoe's life, also has time to ponder upon philosophical and theological ideas, in a style that makes the reader feel as if they are involved in the conflicts between the functionalist and cynical thoughts going on in Crusoe's mind. It may not be a gripping white-knuckle adventure, being rather more leisurely and acquiescent, but it is still rather easy to see why Robinson Crusoe is regarded by some as one of the greatest novels of all time.

This book has a wealth of information, but it seems that all the jewels of this book have been implemented into the church's institute or home study manuals. It is good if you want to find out more of the commentary taht Mr. Ludlow has on the Book of Mormon.

Compute's Amiga Machine Language Programming Guide

Book review.
(Man, this site is slow today!). I learned 68000 assembler using this book. It teaches you not only 68000 assembler, but also how to set up assembler programs on the Amiga. It gives you a lot of include files which you have to type in, these include files can come in very handy for writing your own programs later. Debugging these programs for the typo's you made is your first practice at writing assembler! The learning curve is a bit steep at first but the book is very well written with not too many ambiguities (unlike the Abacus book "Amiga Machine Language" which is full of them). The book is of course a little outdated as Workbench 2 + was not out when it was written, however this book will give you a very thorough grounding in the basics of programming 68000 assembler on the Amiga. I do have criticisms of this book. Each chapter consists of a new program you have to type in and debug, all these programs then go together to make a programming environment you can use for your own programs. However this is a pretty intimidating process and it locks you in to a programming environment which is not your own and which you may not entirely understand, and furthermore an environment that may be larger and more complex than necessary for some small programs. For this reason I would say the book is not an ideal method to learn 68000 on the Amiga, nor is it suitable for those with little or no prior programming experience. However, I personally enjoyed the challenge of working my way through it. It's not a bad double as a 68000 reference either. In summary, it's a flawed book but all the information necessary to begin 68000 programming on the Amiga is there for those who persevere. 3 out of 5.

A good book for beginers.
This book presents the basic concepts of Computer-Aided Design. The author wrote a book which should be understandable to everyone who wants to learn the basic aspects of the Computer-Aided Design thoery. However, i doubt if this book is helpful for an advanced reader or a graduate student who is looking for more specialized or analytically represented concepts.
