Flower Fables
This was the most enchanting book I think that I have ever read. Such beautiful illustrations.

A beautifully illustrated compilation of fables.
This discovery of unpublished fables by Louisa May Alcott should be read by children during their important impressionable years. The illustrations are beautiful and complimentary to the text. While classics of Louisa May Alcott, Little Women and Little Men, are for the early teens, these fables for the preteens tease the imagination in a magical way. This sort of alternative to the upbringing of children by the video media is sorely needed and provided by Flower Fables.

A book to keep, to teach from, to learn from
I received this book as a gift. I loved it & recognized that others could benefit from reading it. So I am requiring my university environmental students to use the book.

The photos are great, the writing insightful & thought-provoking, and content is great. It will warn you of some environmental problems, but will also give you hope for our future.

forces of change may force change
Georgeous photos! It's a collection of really very thought provoking essays. Cutler's, Overpecks, and Quammens were especially interesting. The sum total of the intelligence here is astounding. If tomorrow's leaders could take the time to even glance at this collection we'd all benefit. Not necessarily because solutions are offered but because one can't read these essays without taking the planets past, present and future much more seriously.

A beautifully written book!
Elaine Alberro spins a charming, romantic tale of two people with vastly different outlooks on life. I found myself so caught up in Alberro's multilayered characters and emotional scenes, I read FOREVER TRUE in one sitting. A marvelous read.

Emotional & exciting!
Elaine Alberro writes with passion & heart, telling the romance between Antonio and Elena, who meet at her Sweet Fifteen gala. Without giving away too much of the book, eight years has passed since they dated as kids, and the love is still there. This story is one for the keeper shelves!

Magic is in your garden, if you know where and how to look
I ordered this little book on a whim (the beautiful artwork on the cover first attracted me)and it turned out to be a treasure. Usually a fast reader, I made myself read only one story a day to make it last longer. Gardening is hard work and when you are feeling up to your ears in bugs and weeds, it helps to share the delights of a fellow gardener who also knows how hard it all is but who can remind you why you do it - for the special joy of watching the flowers bloom at last and the animals play in your little piece of paradise. I had a wonderful time imagining myself in his garden and I think I will be a bit more sensitive to the happenings in my own garden in the future. This would make a great gift for birthday, get well, etc.

If you like Brambly Hedge, you will like this one.
It is possible to live the kind of life you want, but first, you must know what you want, decide how you are going to get there, and then do it. This man did just that, and this book describes what he found.

GO KNEE DEEP & START BREASTSTROKING
.

The First Discovery books are right at the leading edge of high quality children's picture books.

This series of books which continues to grow in number, pioneers the exciting technique of the "double sided overlay", a brilliant illustrating tool which brings excitement and almost dynamic movement to story telling. Perhaps one day we may even see this concept applied to website design?

This book on Frogs is almost luxurious in the depth and quality of its illustrations. The text that accompanies the pictures is succinct but informative and always engaging.

What is it about Frogs that is so appealing? Those bulging eyes, those comic sounds, those amazing leaps, that incredible fly catching tongue? This book captures that magic.

The metamorphosis from an egg to a tadpole to a frog must be many children's first introduction to the wonders of the animal kingdom. How many youngsters have been inspired to a lifetime interest (or even a career in life sciences) after observing or nurturing some frogs?

This book would be an ideal resource to support and enhance their interest.

A great learning book!
My 4-year old just loves this book! He likes the see-through pages to flip back and forth between pictures. The text is not so long as to lose small ones' attention, but gives enough information that he can tell me many frog "facts".

Fruit of the Spirit: a Children's Bible Study of Galations 5:22

Fruit of the Spirit: A Children's Bible Study of Galatians
David Walters has produced an excellent work of ministry in Fruit of the Spirit. Walters presents one of the New Testament's most referred to scripture in a most appealing format for children. As a parent, I was impressed with the simple Bible instruction and numerous cartoons. As a Sunday school teacher, I can report that my students were enthralled by the ease of language and enjoyed the discussions that followed the readings. In addition, the children found the chapter quizzes most helpful in remembering each gift and reinforcing the lesson. Finally, as a youth minister, I highly urge pastors and teachers to consider Walter's books in lieu of the children's studies that are normally selected for group study. When the Gospel is taught simply, children simply teach others.

Great teaching tool for children
This bible study is a wonderful tool for helping children to understand the Biblical cncepts of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit in their lives

Beautiful Garden-Beautiful Photographs
This is a great artist's amazingly beautiful garden. And the photographs are not just pretty pictures of flowers, but are full of emotion.

A breathtakingly beautiful compendium
Stephen Shore's The Gardens At Giverny: A View Of Monet's World is a breathtakingly beautiful compendium of forty four-color photographs inspired by the paintings and subject matter of Claude Monet and a celebration of the restoration of the gardens at Giverny, Paris. Here are sumptuous images reflecting the many moods and textures of an inspired and inspiring landscape. A superbly presented work of landscape photography as art, The Gardens At Giverny is also available in hardcover (0-893781-113-0, $40.00) which would be the preferred recommendation for academic and community library photography book collections.
