I love this RED book!
My colleagues call it RED book. This is the most comprehensive and practical book for engineers who are interested in optical methods for mechanics. This book covers various optical techniques and real life applications. It focuses on moiré techniques (theories, instrumentations, data analysis, and applications). It is simply the best book for one who likes to understand, utilize, and implement moiré techniques.

Direct from the Twilight Zone
Are you interested in this sort of thing? Try reading books about the Big Bang if you are having trouble with emptiness. Emptiness and bliss are the two main themes in this book. So what about bliss? I experienced bliss quite spontaneously after reading this book. I would not be able to repeat the experience, but I did experience it. Read this book and see what you think. At first , it seems like so much mumbo jumbo. It takes an empowerment to study this Yoga. Who knows? Perhaps you will sell all your material belongings and begin the path. Good luck!

A wonderful, engaging, mezmerizing work.
This is one of the best books I've ever read, fiction or nonfiction. In fact, it captures the best of both worlds in a way that neither category can match alone.

As with most first-time fiction authors, the work is highly autobiographical. I had Mr. Meador for two classes plus a research project in law school, and there is a lot of him here. Mr. Meador is a genteel, intellectually honest and capable person, and all of those qualities permeate the book.

He tells a compelling story containing many layers. If you have an interest in history, and if you enjoy reading about a good spiritual journey, then you will love this book. I will not reveal the plot, but there are segments where the protagonist is (perhaps) dreaming that will mezmerize you.

To close, this is a great book by a great man. Read it.

Histoire de l'aviation

Aviation history with passion
Of course, this book looks outdated, but honestly it doesn't matter ! At first, this history of aviation was a (serie) of TV reports. A very good one, those kind of series you met once each 5 ou ten years ! Then came the book, it really reproduce on paper the quality and the passion of documents, events, interviews of the serie, which is very rare. Of course, it's not hardly technical, but on the other hand it will be interesting even young people.
I think the book is out of print forever, but if you meet it, get it !

A master historian richly paints life in 18th-century France
French historian Daniel Roche meticulously researches the everyday material culture of eighteenth-century France to create a subtle and nuanced picture of the lives of everyday people of the period. By examining developments such as plumbing and lighting in various urban and rural sections of France, Roche provides the reader with a way to approach history in a more intimate and empathetic manner. This is not a book for someone seeking a general history of 18th-century France, but for the reader who wants to get a detailed picture of daily life during this period, it is indispensible.

The History of Iran
Published in Hardcover by Greenwood Publishing Group (November, 2000)
Author: Elton L. Daniel

A Concise, Profound History of Iran
Elton Daniel's brief history of Iran may be the most sober, realistic analysis of contemporary Iranian history in print. His sober assessment of the Islamic Republic's present and near future bears close scrutiny, and is far less optimistic than Robin Wright's. Yet it is also a fine introduction to Iranian history from prehistory to the present. Among its finest chapters are those devoted to the ancient Persian Empire of Cyrus and Darius I, the Parthians, medieval Persian history, and the early modern history of Iran through the rise of the Qajar Dynasty. Yet, as I pointed out earlier, it is most noteworthy for its coverage of recent Iranian history. Students of Iranian history and of the Middle East may find this essential reading.

Pearl's book encompasses the paths Christian people.
A BOOK REVIEW By Charlie J. Black

All of the three decades that I have known Pearl Gray Daniels, she has been involved with the pulse beat of people.

Uniquely, Pearl's growing up in the "Holt Street Church of Christ" lead her to being curious about "Its Role in Establishing Churches of Christ Among African Americans in Central Alabama." Thus, the basis of this book.

This book evolved through Pearl's entire life. A life that commenced with the uniting of her parents, Abraham and Nancy Jones Gray. A family that would include four brothers; one being Fred D. Gray, who, himself, would, at age 12, become a minister of the Church of Christ.

Pearl's book encompasses the paths and the paths of people who, because of the church, were able to survive in time of crisis; most notably, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, of which her 'baby' brother Fred was legal counsel.

In formulating this book, Pearl saw Alabama from a different prospective than a lot of her contemporaries. Before public education was taken for granted for black people, Pearl studied at Stillman College, a Presbyterian institution, and taught in Presbyterian schools in Wilcox County, Alabama.

Education, like church, to Pearl, is a continuing process. She has always been active in alumni organizations of Alabama State University and Stillman College. In Texas, in honor of her mother, Mrs. Nancy Jones Gray Arms, Pearl set up a scholarship at Southwestern Christian College.

Through Pearl's eyes, not only does the Holt Street Church of Christ have an illustrious past, it has a very promising future.

Daniel unsealed
This book squashes the popular theories that the ten horns of daniel are ten nations, that the messiah reference in the 70 weeks of daniel refer to Jesus, and also shows in complete detail the meanings of all the books of Daniel. A much more exciting examination than the books of other authors, fiction and non-fiction alike.

A depiction of still not-so-dormant European anti-Semitism
In the past year, European sympathy with the Arab cause and resentment of Israeli incursions against the Palestinians in general and against Yassir Arafat in particular have demonstrated that the derogatory and supposedly discredited views of Jews and Judaism held by the Nazis still lie just beneath the surface of political correctness. In order to combat such persistent bigotry, it is useful if appalling to keep in mind Professor Goldhagen's succinct account of such prejudices. The Nazis, he reminds us, viewed Jews as parasitic work shirkers who lived off others' labor, and who, like Shylock, lent money at usurious rates; as hypermaterialistic, dishonest, and thievish amassers of wealth stolen from the Volk (Michael Milken is believed by many present-day Germans to exemplify this characteristic); and as scheming evildoers who stirred up trouble and internecine strife within otherwise harmonious communities. Even the forged libel entitled "The Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion" retains currency in certain European and middle-eastern circles. The prevalence of such views in Nazi Germany made willing collaborators of ordinary Germans, and Professor Goldhagen has performed a valuable service in providing painstaking scholarly documentation of this inarguable historical phenomenon.
