"I Shot Andy Warhol" was an amazing movie with a great screenplay that swept the characters of the film through the surrealism and strangeness of the sixties, and this is the screenplay. It's great how the mental degeneration of the main character is depicted so subtly.

Our family really enjoyed this book because it is realistic, easy to understand, and has good role models. The pictures are well done and promote discussion, and the text is just right. A favorite with both the parents and our six-year-old twins (a boy and a girl).

Lawrence Talbot turns into a werewolf and nobody notices! Still, he had a pretty good time, staying up all night and howling at the moon. Perfect second grade stuff. I re-read it all the time.

Dr. Crowder's book came about after a series of workshops
to identify and explore ideas that made America (the United
States specifically, I would say).
He deals with "destiny," self-government, the individual,
human equality, the land of opportunity and an "open class
society," all hallmarks of The Land of the Free.
Daniel Boyd Crowder was himself an instructor in English
and social science. In the sixties and early seventies, he
taught social science and history at Miami-Dade Community
College. He earned his Ph.D at Ball State University and
was president of West Virginia Northern Community College
from 1972-1985.
The Crowder text is course material tested for several
years in class and the original volume comes with a
supplemental reading and resource guide. Another Ph.D and
a doctor in education join him as editors of this timeless
publication.
