Fire in the Wind is a Good Book
This book is about Meg and her backwards cousin Orin. Meg always gets in fights when she tries to stick up for Orin and her brother Paul. When a fire burns most of Prescott Falls, Maine (Meg's home town) Orin saves Meg and her brother. Meg and her brother are the only ones who know that Orin set a backfire. When Meg finds out the backfire was probably the thing that saved their barn she realizes that she was wrong when she blamed Orin for setting the fire.

I read this book for a book response project and I think you should read it too.

Text is very easy to follow and understand.
I am a Des Moines Fire Paramedic and an EMS instructor. I use this text for class instruction. My students have found it very easy to understand and follow. It provides them with clear and concise information that is on their level of understanding. In this regard the authors have done a very good job in the way they have presented the text. I have used this text for three (3) years to instruct First Responder classes. So far all the students that I have had in class, that have taken the D.O.T. written exam, have passed the exam. The only problem that I have found with the text is that it now does not reflect the current D.O.T. protocols in regards to the use of an A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrilator). I found this to be confusing to the students and some have a hard time separating the two. As an instructor I do not find this a major problem but it would be a good change that I would like to see made in future editions. With this change I would give the text a five (5) star rating.

Flavia is Fabulous!
This book is impressive in its pictures and words. The book talks about differences in people and how each person is unique. It also talks about how changes in life can be good and how friends help each other. This book does a wonderful job of sneaking in how to look things up in an encyclopedia too! I would recomend this title to teachers and parents alike.

Overall a quite decent collection
This book is a large collection of amateur poems, and is a overall a pretty decent collection of poetry. One of my poems was published in it, so I got a copy of it then. I'd definently recommend it to any poetry admirers. Heck, feel free to look up my poem if you want.... :)

Florida Shipwrecks: The Divers Guide to Shipwrecks Around the State of Florida and the Florida Keys

A good beginners giude
This book by two accomplished divers attempts the daunting task of guiding us through the myriad of Florida wrecks. The book is broken down by city or location and gives a history and a nice preview of the dive for each wreck. What is really great are the color photos, both above water and underwater shots. The only draw back to this book is the lack of exact wreck locations.

Warfare in the Wilderness
I enjoyed this book with a few exceptions. The "Battle of Grant's Hill" during the Forbes Campaign to take French held Fort Duquesne was poorly researched. The book states that the British destroyed several blockhouses around the fort prior to the battle, when in reality, they only set fire to one which was eventually extinguished. There are several other errors that a little research would have corrected.Otherwise, not a bad book on the F&I War.

Must reading
This book is must reading for anyone who has any hope of understanding the unintelligible -- New York government. With an insider's view and an outsider's objectivity, author Peter Slocum offers a fun and fascinating look at New York, its characters and why it is what it is today (dysfunctional). Hy Rosen's classic cartoons are a constant reminder that we never really had to take any of it seriously. All in all, a fun read for anyone remotely interested in Empire State politics.
