Prisons within Russian Orthodox Monasteries
Little is known regarding prisons located inside Russian Orthodox Monasteries for the incarceration of religious dissenters and sectarians, political activists and criminals. This book focuses on the history of such a prison system and the lives and convictions of the inmates subject to incarceration by Imperial Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church. The period covered begins 1441, with the arrival of Isidore, the metropolitan of Moscow, to the Moscow Chudov (Miracles) Monastery for incarceration, and ends 1905, when the final inmates were released from the Suzdal Spasso-Evfimiev Monastery, coincident with the edict of religious toleration of Tsar Nicholas II. Likewise included are the women incarcerated in convents over the same period. This is a part of history that is unknown to the non-Russian speaking world and which the author hopes to unveil. With 11 photographs.

Illustrative Grandure
This monograph has good text and lots of photographic images for anyone who loves period houses. What sets it apart from other books of its kind is the inclusion of pages of detailed drawings by the architects. The illustrations are absolutely magnificant and very educational for those interested in how these intricate works went from the minds of the architects to actual built works of enduring beauty. A very good book.

Another MacIvor Masterpiece!
Like many of his plays, Monster is a solo performance with a frightening edge. It gets under your skin in such a seductive way that you don't even realize that you're going to be left devestated by the end of the work. A solo man plays numerous roles in an acting tour de force that should make the world stand up and take notice of Canadian theatre and drama. If you read it, you'll want to see it (or perform it), and if you do... spread the word. Long live MacIvor!

It Really Helped!
This book was a great help. The ideas are practical and easy to understand and follow. The author is sympathetic to both parents and children. He doesn't place blame, just tells how to get over the problem. Separating different fears into their own chapters made it especially easy to find what I was looking for.

The rich and the reckless.

A dazzling story of romance and danger set in the golden era of Monte Carlo in the 1890s. A city sizzling in sin and teeming with royalty and highrollers, Monte Carlo, with its lush casinos, was a glittering wonderland to young and innocent women like Lydia Bradley.

On assignment from her New York newspaper, Lydia was swept up in the perilous and sophisticated ways of the Monte set, and fell prey to the lustful advances of the rich and the reckless. Soon the stakes became far too high, and Lydia gambled on too much love and flirted with death for the story of a lifetime!

Phonics the Phun Way!
I am a first gade teacher who is always looking for new approaches to teaching, especially topics that can be dry--sorry folks--like phonics. This book, "More Phonics Through Poetry," like the first book, "Phonics Through Poetry" affords me some great materials for shared reading which stress specific sounds (and also endings, contractions, and prefixes and suffixes) by repeating them in delightful poetry. The sounds in this book are more difficult than in the first and include consonant digraphs, blends, diphthongs, etc. While some of the poems were obviously written for this purpose, most of them can be applied to a theme as well as to a targeted sound. In addition to the two to three poems per sound, there are other ideas for uses for the poems, blackline masters for use with them, and the cross-references to help you use the poems with themes. This book will definitely help you "work smarter, not harder."

Impressive, invaluable, and very welcome
The Most Holy Trinosophia And The New Revelation Of The Divine Feminine proposes that after two thousand years of traditional Christianity, Western civilization ready to acknowledge and embrace the "divine feminine". Co-founder of the Sophia Foundation of North America Robert Powell carefully guides the readers through a maze of concepts about the "world soul", Sophia as a "Trinity of Mother Daughter, and Holy Soul"; and the feminine aspect of the Divine Godhead. The produce of years of extensive, meticulous research, Powell draws upon the teachings of the Sophianic Russian philosopher Pavel Florensky and the work of the modern Russian mystic Daniel Andreev to inculcate a deeper understanding of the notion of divine feminine and its potential for social change in the modern world. The Most Holy Trinosophia is an impressive, invaluable, and very welcome contribution to the study of religion, metaphysics, and spirituality.
