A beautifully crafted book -- amazing photos and stories!
With "Double Take," Jussim deftly balances intriguing his young readers with remarkable stories while enriching them with science, and social and ethical issues. Readers may leaf through this book simply to enjoy the many amazing and moving photographs, but few will resist reading the accompanying text. While tackling some challenging issues, such as the ethics of multiple births resulting from fertility drugs, Jussim keeps the tone of the language at a level his readers will find familiar and highly accessible. And he artfully presents these issues with an even-handed exposition such that his readers can consider the many sides of an issue and formulate their own opinions. Given the proliferation of twins and multiples in our society today, this is a book that belongs on every school library shelf, and is a must-have for any twin or multiple.

Great Fiction!
I picked up this hard to find book after reading Daniel Quinn's cultural critiques ISHMAEL, THE STORY OF B, MY ISHMAEL, and BEYOND CIVILIZATION. He wrote DREAMER in 1984 before any of the aforementioned books. DREAMER was a book he wrote not to do anything like he did in his future books, but simply as a fiction-thriller. It's truly an excellent read. You follow a free-lance writer through the streets of Chicago and wonder whether he's dreaming or awake. This book really plays with the idea that you can sleep in a dream and even have dreams in a dream. What is reality and what is dream (or nightmare?!)? This book is a thriller because you simply don't know. It's a real page turner and shows that Daniel Quinn could have been a horror writer on the level of Stephen King and Peter Straub. I of course, am glad he didn't-- because his 1992 novel ISHMAEL changed my life forever.

Opened my mind!
This was my first experience with Dominique Barbier and the French approach to dressage. His presentation of the French theory of lightness and harmony opened my mind. It changed my rigid approach and my horses have been very grateful. From this book I learned that lightness can be achieved without force. His instructions for work in-hand were clear and easy to duplicate on my own. Diagrams and explanations were clear and technical enough without being complicated. I felt this book was easy to read and understand, was presented in a progressive format and just oozed with a sensitivity and a passion for the horse that is not found in similar books. This book is a must read for any serious dressage rider, instructor or trainer.

Finally an answer as to why drugs cause side effects
So many drugs, so few resources to find out why they cause side effects, until now. You can look up a drug and find the primary nutrients it depletes, or look up nutrients and link them with drugs you take. Also provides selected abstracts from medical journals to read for yourself. Charts at the back of the book are invaluable, like drug/food interactions, and others. A must for any professional health library. --- Bill Sardi, health journalist

Well worth it for everyone-
I highly recommend this book to everyone, even for those who do not train athletically....Dr. Hatfield and Daniel Gastelu provide a tremendous amount of detailed nutritional information (they even break down into descriptions of Proteins and Essential and Non Essential Amino Acids)...

If you are interested in obtaining/regaining your health---learn how to eat so that food is energy...this book will set you on the right path (I'm a vegetarian and it's been extremely helpful)to optimal conditioning regardless of your personal health goals....

IT'S A STEAL
I GOT THIS BOOK AT A CLEARANCE PRICE AND I CAN'T STOP GRINNING. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT BOOK. YES, I AM A MEMBER OF NAPP. YES, I ATTEND THE CONVENTION EVERY YEAR. YES, I OWN MANY BOOKS AND TAPES ON THE VARIOUS VERSIONS OF THIS ALL POWERFUL SOFTWARE. BUT THIS BOOK IS WRITTEN FROM AN ARTISTIC PERSPECTIVE, NOT MATHEMATICAL, STRUCTURAL, ETC. IT SPENDS THE EARLY PART OF THE FIRST CHAPTER GETTING YOU SET UP (FOR 4) BUT THE REST OF THE BOOK IS THE JUICE. HOW TO MAKE SOME (DARN) PRETTY PICTURES, AND I GOT IT FOR_____, I WON'T TELL. BUT THE ABOVE PRICE IS ALSO A STEAL. BUY IT NOW.

Dynamics of Spiritual Deception
Published in Paperback by Destiny Image Publishers (October, 1993)
Authors: Dan Juster and Daniel C. Juster
Amazon base price: $7.99
Used price: $12.99
Average review score:

Don't miss this book!
A must-read for leaders. Juster tells of his personal involvement in a church that drifted into full blown spiritual deception. It is at times frightening and sobering to read this insightful analysis of good-intentioned intelligent people as they ignore warning signs and slowly progress into spiritual and moral failure.

Because we are in an age of profound social confusion Juster says we should look for several crucial danger signs when assessing a congregation: Inadequacy of Ledership According to Biblical Criteria, Bitterness and Prophetic Direction, Loss of Scripture as Objective Revelation, Preoccupation With Miracles as Opposed to Love, Methodology of Indoctrination, Isolationism, and several more.

The real brilliance of this book is in Juster's ability to describe the necessary relationship between intellectual/evangelicalism and charismatic experience.

The best of the current crop of VXML books.
This is more than just another VoiceXML book. It goes into all the elements and architecture needed to get started developing phone web applications. I've bought 3 books so far and sent two of them to partners working with me on getting a phone web server online. Covers Voice XML Gateways, two different grammar formats, AVR Software, TTS, dialog design, even a chapter on XSLT, plus tons of VXML code examples. Highly recommended!
