The ultimate help guide
This is a VERY helpful travel book! In 357 pages it gives you access to the Online Travel Directory and has a large pull-out color map, yet it is small enough to fit in almost any handbag. Sites of interest covered in the book include Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Water Parks, Golf, Tennis, Islands of Adventure, Daytona Beach, Kennedy Space Center and More! It gives pretty accurate ratings of rides, restaurants, hotels and such. This is especially helpful if you are taking the kids, you can use this to plan out the vacation, know what rides and food your kids will enjoy and even gives sample itineraries. The information is reliable and the details are wonderful! If you, or someone you know, are planning a trip to the Orlando area, this is a MUST!

Frommer's 2000 Portable New York City
This New York City compact guide belongs in any visitor's purse or pocket. The guide offers helpful websites which I accessed for information on ticket purchases and future events, as well as offering practical advice on personal safety issues. There are detailed descriptions and directions to the city's main attractions, including the subway numbers to get there. The author has shopping tips for luxury and bargain hunters alike. Note: You will probably need a more detailed guide for accomadations and dining such as the AAA New York Tourbook, to use as an adjunct.

Current, Thorough, and Informative
Of several Orlando/Disney World books I have read, this is probably the best for several reasons.

Probably the best feature of this book is that each attraction has a letter grade rating and a recommended age. This was very helpful in planning our trip and eliminating boring attractions and those intended for a different age group.

This book had current information on the new Universal Studios Escape Park, but did not have much info on Asia in the Animal Kingdom (other books did.)

Overall, this was the most useful book in planing our Orlando vacation.

Excellent information on summer activities re:opera
My daughter will be in Gratz,Austria for 6 weeks this summer at the AIMS School for opera. Since I will be visiting I decided to buy your guide to Austria. It has everything you could want to know and more. We lived in Europe for 3 years and it is exciting to go back. The "getting around" section is great as is the information on Music (Mozart etc). I was really excited about the summer music festival in Salzburg. I bought your book on Panama when I visited and it certainly made for a much easier and more interesting trip with your guide. The AIMS school is something your future readers may be interested in-it is a summer program for singers on the road to a career and they have programs on weekends throughout summer. Thank you.

The Only way to see the UK
As a limey living in the US, I get fed up of yanks, when finding out I'm British asking me which part of London I'm from. Britain isn't just the crown jewels and piccadilly circus, and the only way to see the real Britain is to get in a car and drive. Britain is such an interesting diverse country, yet small enough to drive round easily, that driving on the wrong side of the road and paying five bucks a gallon for gas are just small problems compared to the wealth of beauty you will experience. I say forget London altogether, hit the road and head out.

The best book on ports of call in the Caribbean
If you're looking for a well organized, useful reference on the ports -- what to do and see, how to navigate and get around -- this is the book to have. Its content is up-to-date (as of February 2001) and thorough; whatever you could think of is covered. Don't waste your time and money on other books until you have perused this one, as it also provides information on things to know before you go, the cruise lines and their itineraries, and ports of embarkation. A brief history of the Caribbean and detailed maps are also included. It's comprehensive, yet concise. Invaluable to first-time cruise passengers.

Well Worth It
I find the Frommer's guides to be very helpful for my trips to Ireland especially. This one is perfect if you plan on visiting Dublin. As in other Frommer guides this book starts with the "Best Of" in Dublin, how to get there and what you'll need when planning your trip. It then goes on to getting to know Dublin, places to stay, places to eat and drink, attractions, shopping and night life. Additionally, this guide includes places that you can easily visit just outside of Dublin City in Counties Wicklow and Kildare. The review continues with hours and dates places are open as well as prices for attractions, for accommodations and for dining. For each category there are phone numbers, web sites, if available, and general maps of the area. A newer version of the is book is due to come out any day now but probably has similar information only with updated prices. If you only have time for Dublin, or want to spend your time doing nothing else but Dublin, this little pocket guide is the only one you'll need!

Great guide to San Antonio
I took this guide on a first time visit to San Antonio and found it invaluable. Not only was it up to date with info on the latest hotels, attractions, and restaurants, but it contains lots of asides containing interesting information on the different sites that added to our enjoyment at visiting these sites. A first rate job!

THIS IS THE GUIDE TO TAKE WITH ON VACATION
Frommer's has always created great guidebooks. The San Diego 2000 guide is no exception. First, you open it to find 16 pages of colored photographs of San Diego--this alone wants your vacation time to come sooner! Something that Frommer does that almost none of the other guides do is to give you actual prices rather than "1, 2, 3, or 4 $ to indicate price and then you have to refer to a chart to get the PRICE RANGE." This feature is worth it's price alone! They also supply you with a pull out map--like you can get at a gas station or AAA. It also gives you the entire phone # and not zip code is XXX for all areas. This can be frustrating. Also, it groups food by category. AND gives you websites for more information. A truly EXCELLENT guide!
