Very entertaining stories
DeChancie always delivers, and he doesn't miss in this first story collection. Delightful stuff. I enjoyed every story. The first one, "Secrecy" is a corker. Top notch storywriting. Recommended.

Rich and detailed look concerning Total Depravity
This is the most detailed work I have found, by an author of this century, concerning itself entirely to the doctrine of Total Depravity. It is not only a most excellent defense of this doctrine, but as well, a truly thought provoking and humility producing text. It is an excellent work geared to the layman and would suggest it to all for meditation.

I WISH I COULD BUY A COPY
The only thing I can say badly about this book is that I can't find a copy to buy. I have to continue asking for it from my local library through InterLibrary Loan. If you know of a way that I could get a copy of this book, please email me and let me know....ADDITION: I did eventually find a copy for only [price]. It took 3 months of searching out of print book sellers but a very nice man in Canada was willing to let go of his copy. If he reads this, THANK YOU!

Beyond the hype of Will Rogers
I've read many books on Will Rogers-I find him fascinating on several levels. My initial interest was in his skill as a roper-I continue to be amazed at his talent in catches and especially trick roping. See his 1922 film "The Roping Fool" for an incredible display of his abilities. But Roger's role as a social commentator overshadowed his vaudeville career. Some have called him the first media pundit. This volume documents in great detail Rogers early years, and in a most satisfying way puts him in context. Letters, newspaper clippings, and other documents trace the experiences that led him into show business, and extensive footnotes lay out the social, economic and political world in which he lived. I can't wait for volume two!

Great story about a great story teller
This book is really a great read. Not only does it give you a great deal of insight about Weigall and his exploits, but it also has a lot of good stories about Egypt and it's exploration during it's most colorful time period of the early 20th century. I have always enjoyed Weigall's books and his ability to weave a good story and describe what it would be like to be exploring various sites while on his inspection tours.

This book really goes into a great deal about his crusade to save and catalogue monuments instead of just digging for "treasures". He doesn't seem to get his due for what he tried to accomplish under the difficult conditions he had to work within at the time. What I also found interesting was the perspective of his relationship with Howard Carter from more his point of view versus what is more often seen discussed from Cater's. Being that it was written by his grand-daughter I'm sure there's a little bit of bias there. Either way, it is truly a great book written about a great author.

Wiegall showed that a history book doesn't have to be dry and boring. It seems that his grand-daughter inherited that trait too!

Highly Recommended
I just finished reading this book and in my view it is one of the best books on the science religion debate. Peacocke is obviously a Christian and he also knows his science and the result is a very fascinating book. I can see why he won the $1 million prize from Templeton in 2001 for progress in religion.

classroom resource
Lazear has once again created an excellent resource with his book Pathways of Learning. This book takes ideas from Seven Ways of Knowing, and expands on them. The book contains fantastic reproducibles to be used in the classroom. It also includes reflective checklists for teachers.
