This book is a standard in the field of analytical chemistry, especially wet chemistry. It is not intended to be a textbook for a quant course, unlike Dan Harris's Quantitative Chemical Analysis or Doug Skoog's Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry, which are both excellent college texts. However, it is an outstanding ready-reference for chemists and chemistry graduate students. It is the authority for all sorts of chemical analyses, and it gives concise, complete background along with exact procedures, including problems likely to be encountered, precautions to be taken, or deficiencies of the method. It is well-indexed and quite complete is breadth and scope.

I don't think any other text covers this information so completely; although it is notoriously hard to come by in your average book store. Any edition of it would be excellent.

This is a highly readable account of the author's solo voyage across the English Channel to France and up the Seine. Although he sails in a small sailboat here, MacGregor invented the modern canoe, and spent his life promoting the canoe and other outdoor sports. This is a fun book, especially for small boat sailors

I used this book as the basis for my History of Gospel Music class here at Western Maryland College and it worked out great. Each chapter is broken down to different emotions, and it even comes with a cassette of songs you can send away for. It's all great.

I totally enjoyed studying these small books through Kay Arthur's inductive method. I learned so much and was able to see things that I probably never would have noticed without this book.

This is a compilation of composer Arthur Farwell's essays on music, copiously annotated by editor Thomas Stoner. A wealth of info about Farwell, but also the musical world of his day: Foote, Chadwick, MacDowell, the Indianist movement, the Wa-wan Press (which Farwell founded as a means for American composers to get their works published), east and west coast musical activities, etc. Absolutely dripping with fascinating stuff, not least of all Farwell's thoughts on music in general and the direction of American music in particular.

Farwell was a prolific composer, but finding scores can be challenging. Singers should note the recent B&H editions of 34 (!) settings of Emily Dickinson; the odd number may be found in libraries here and there, but the motherlode resides in the Sibley Library at the Eastman School of Music.

As a dedicated reader of Sun-Tzu's Art of War, I was greatly impressed by Major Arthur Clark's work. There are a great deal of military quotes that offer practical advice and are applicable today. This book is a must-have for business people looking for competitive advantage in the workplace.

This book helps to explain the current views and past views of Jehovah's Witnesses. It uses their own material to show how the Watchtower Society's views have radically changed over the years. It also presents another view of their questionable habit of only partially citing non-Watchtower authors.

Many of the things that Jehovah's Witnesses hold most dear are not what the Watchtower Society taught just a few years ago. The Watchtower Society used to participate in Christmas, military service and many other things that it now disfellowships people for.

It is good information for anyone who has family members who are associated with Jehovah's witnesses or whom may be thinking about agreeing to that free home bible study with them.

It's a very practical and comprehensive book.
