A great insight into what might have been
Only a 9 because, alas the work is unfinished. The Death and Glory's stow away in a lorry carrying a motor cruiser to the north. Awaiting them is the D's. They get this far and out on the lake, but AR never got any farther.
Still wonderful to read and imagain

Frost's Fulfillment
This was clearly a labor of love for Dr. Frost. He winds his way through the entire history of the Country Club of Farmington and dots his tale with anecdote and data. It is an excellent work to learn about the sociology and growth of the game of golf and the country club scene as we enter the era of Tiger. This would be an interesting study for a sociology or history or civics class or just an enjoyable read for devotees of golf.

Very Helpful
This was very helpful in studying for the CPA Exam on my own. Although I have not yet taken it, I feel that I will do just as well as I would have if I had taken a review course. Also, I have spent the same amount of time preparing as I would have if I had taken a course, except I spent much less on this "investment."

The Craving
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (January, 2003)
Author: Arthur Herzog
Amazon base price: $17.95
Average review score:

Chilling what if really was ahead of its time.
Considering the current fascination with nutrition, dieting, and eating disorders this 1982 novel by speculative suspense writer Arthur Herzog (The Swarm, Heat, and Earthsound) needs to be rediscovered and widely read. A new dietary supplement, Sovren, has an unforseen side effect...it makes its users uncontrollably hungry. When they begin literally eating themselves to death trying to satiate a hunger that will not fade, the corporate powers that be want the facts buried. Meanwhile the doctor who invented the miracle weight loss shake falls victim to it himself in a classic Frankenstein twist.

Although Herzog had his weaknesses as a writer, namely having a deus ex machina parked in each of his story's garage, he was a master at the slow burn terror. Hints and clues build atop each other as the inevitable fallout gathers. A memorable book worth seeking out by medical suspense lovers everywhere.

A wonderful reference for a webmaster who fields questions!
This book was a much anticipated addition to my library. As a webmaster of a Apollo website, I'm often asked questions about space models. This book has it all with great descriptions and color images of space model kits. The table of scales of each type available is very useful for collectors.

Strange, but ultimately exquisite.
Dispite a somewhat weak begining, this play reaches a distinct point at which it teeters on the line seperating genius and garbage. In the end, it is a work of genius, it's main attraction being a very unconventional (but entirely convincing) view of Lucifer as he seeks to "corrupt" Yaweh's precious human creations. A brilliant and at times graphic work of role-reversal in which Lucifer becomes a tragic hero.

LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING!
I found this book via the recommendation in Your Mind Can Heal You by Frederick Bailes. It's astonishing that it was originally published in 1915, because the ideas are quite contemporary. Thomas Troward (1847 - 1916) was an assistant commissioner and later divisional judge in the North Indian Punjab from 1869 until 1896. He wrote several small volumes that have had a profound effect on the development of spiritual metaphysics, in particular that of the New Thought movement, of which the teaching known as Science of Mind is Troward's most direct legacy. Unlike a lot of metaphysical authors who treat the personality/conscious mind as some sort of "necessary evil," Troward believes that the whole purpose of Life & Evolution is the further development of the personality in the self-contemplation of Spirit. His reasoning on the nature of Spirit (perfect Life, Light, Love, Power & Beauty) is very convincing as are all his arguments. I have only read it once but feel that a 2nd and 3rd reading is required to fully comprehend this marvelous and fascinating book.

Great book, well written and reasearched.
"The Crisis of the Old Order" is well written and researched. It captures the times and era of great depression and the stock market crash of 1929, so vivdly that no other book on the subject can compare to it. This book is definetly worth buying and reading, also check out the other two volumes of the trilogy, "The Coming of the New Deal" and "The Politics of Upheaval."

Fascinating and well written!
Arthur Hughes has written a fascinating book that explores one of the most interesting characters in the Revolutionary War era.
