This is a marvelous book for all ages.
I really enjoyed the Seneca Indian tales--Parker makes them come to life and makes the reader able to "see" the story in his or her own mind. The tales are very entertaining and often help illustrate a lesson. Readers of any age will love these stories--from age 9 to 90. As the editor of a book of Delaware legends, I appreciate a well-told story, and I sincerely recommend these.

classic analysis of small town social relationships
Having lived in a number of small towns, I am continually amazed at the relevance of this classic study to contemporary local politics and social relationships. Long before "investigative reporting", a grad student goes undercover for a year in a small town and reports his findings -- social groups, power, politics and tradition. This is not a dry scientific analysis, but a fascinating description of American life outside the city.

A wonderful book, but a bit too many pictures
As a reader of many of Arthur C. Clarkes books, I just had to get this one too.
I love the topic of this book. And to see how with available technics it would be possible to develop a "Garden on Mars" is very amazing to read about.
Unluckily, in my opinion, Clarke put a bit too much work into playing around with this picture creating tool. I am a computer techie and I know how much fun it can be to work with stuff like that.
But a view less pictures would have worked just the same.

The Actor That I Am
A soap book...who in the world would buy a soap book? EVERYONE! Being more acute, any actor, soap fan, or even t.v fanatic should. Especially read this book that has scenes from all your fav soaps, old and new. Being a struggling actor, i needed to find some scenes to perform in classes, showcases, etc. I found them all in this work by Dent and Zapel. I clicked with the characters because i had seen them on t.v and could relate to some of their situations. Definitely, buy this book if you've ever seen soaps, heard of them, or if you are on one. Which i hope to be one day.

Difference in Approach to Skill Formation between Countries
The importance of the book lies in their accounts of differences in approach to skill formation in two countries - France and Germany. The authors spare the space for reader to answer, which countries has the best systems ?
Germany has a very intergrated appraoch with employer, unions, local and federal governments involved in addressing present and future skill formation. France does not have. He gave a description of both country's approaches and all the different institution involved (societal approach).
He gives a summary at the end of the book.

Another interesting book
(This book is a sequel to The Armlet of the Gods, and the third book in the quadrilogy.) Compelled to return to the worlds of Lucifer, Alan MacDougall enters through the third gate, and finds himself on the Island of Scath. The island is divided in an eternal war between the sorceress Scathach and the god Amaraduk, and MacDougall is now caught in the middle. However, when a group of Celtic gods arrive, looking for revenge on MacDougall, things get really interesting!
This is another interesting book. This story is even more intense than the previous two, with Alan MacDougall learning more about himself, his friend the bard Taliesin, and the world that Lucifer created. Personally, I enjoyed the even more extensive use of the Sumerian pantheon in this book.
So, let me say that this is a very interesting book, one that I highly recommend!

Family Feud - Southern Baptist Style!
Excellent book that concisely captures the history of the Southern Baptist denomination, from 1845 - 1991. A scholarly work with at least 3 chapters that read with all the drama of a fictional best-seller. Details the takeover of the Southern Baptist Convention by the fundamentalist faction; defines "democracy" as it applies to Southern Baptists (local church autonomy, "one voice-one vote" per member); considers the effect of two major Southern Baptist traditions -- priesthood of the believer and pastoral authority; and more. The book was very engaging and, when I'd finished it, I hoped this author was working on a sequel because I want to know what's happened in the past 8 - 9 years in the SBC!

Home town spy revealed!
Being from Edward Bancroft's hometown, Westfield MASS, and having written a play about him, I was curious about his treatment in this book and especially his sinister final relationship with Silas Deane. Good reading. Well done!
A state of disunion: Arthur Griffith, Michael Collins, James Craig, Eamonn de Valera

Four Great Irishmen
This is an interesting, if less than definitive, account of four of Ireland's most reknowned leaders--Michael Collins, Eamon De Valera, Arthur Griffith, and James Craig--and their contribution to Ireland's "State of Disunion". While not fully developed, these biographical accounts give an insight into the conflicts of men and ideas involved in Ireland's fight for freedom from Britain. The first three men were, of course, leaders in the War of Independence: Collins the guerrilla leader who, more than any single man, was responsible for the creation of the Irish Free State; De Valera the austere leader who oversaw the Free State's emergence as the Republic of today and led Ireland through much of the 20th century; and Griffith the intellectual founder of Sinn Fein, the philosophy and the party. The remaining leader, James Craig, the inflexible voice of Ulster unionism and opposition to bringing the six northern counties into the Free State, is shown as an astute defender of the status quo and manipulator of the British to that end. A recommended read for an overview of the forces at play then and now.
