fun activity book for Arthur and D.W. fans
Over fifty stickers can be used and reused on glossy scenes of the family kitchen, Arthur's classroom or a local park. Activity pages include coloring, word search, mazes, matching, a crossword, hidden pictures and a lesson in how to draw Arthur. There's also an answer page. Lots here to keep an Arthur or D.W. fan busy for a while, and a nice introduction to various puzzle types.

Stickers depict many characters from Marc Brown's series as well as Easter-themed objects. Very nice.

a really great book
Original Reviewer : Tommy Bruzina I liked it because it was funny, because DW played a trick on the boys, then the boys made a trick of their own to scare DW. Arthur had a fun time on his sleepover.

A whimsical fairy tale
Arthur's Tractor is a whimsical fairy tale by Pippa Goodhart about Arthur, a farmer who just can't quite get his tractor to work right. Could it be the work of something mysterious behind his back? Full-color, lighthearted illustrations by Colin Paine add a particularly entertaining flavor to the enjoyable text which is especially recommended for beginning readers ages 5 through 7.

Arthur Teaching Trouble Reading
I think the book is great because sometimes you win and sometimes you loose. I love winning. I love the end. D.W. was so funny. She really made me laugh.

Translation. Me gusto mucho el libro porque a veces uno gana y a veces uno pierde. Me gusta mucho cuando gano. D.W. fue muy chistosa. Me hizo reir mucho.

Great Resource
This book is a wonderful representation of the Greek Attic theatre, as cited numerous times in Flickinger's "The Greek Theatre and It's Drama." Using a clear and straight-forward method of writing, the author clearly states all he needsto say from every angle possible. Using a plethera of quotations from specific plays that suit the situation of which he speaks, the author creates, in my opinion, one of the greatest resources about theatre in the antiquity.

One of the only Holocaust books on a women, a great read
I loved this book, and I couldn't put it down. Great read about the Holocaust. Very chilling to see how the women in the death camps, especially Auschwitz were treated. The font is for 6th Graders, but I feel that it souldn't be read, for the graphic nature, until high school.

A very good read.

Autobiography of Arthur Ransome

Living Life to the Hilt
This is a a very special book for people of "a certain age." I'm not at all sure that anyone under fifty would really appreciate its richness in conjuring up a life lived at the turn of the century -- Ransome was born in the 1880s -- by a nearsighted young English lad consumed with the idea that he was destined to become a writer. His incredible understated oddessy includes being at ground zero during the Russian revolution -- knowing all the major characters including Lenin and Trotsky -- learning to sail in fair weather and foul, and living a life of real hardship to becoming a celebrated author of one of the best series of children's books ever written -- The Swallows & Amazon books. His narration of the "Bohemian Life" of his day, the cast of characters of noted literary and political figures, his comments on what it meant to be educated in his world and time, made the book, for me, a vivid portrait of a world and value system that has, I fear, gone with the wind. A fine read.
